So last night, a little past midnight, I played the very beginning of the game thanks to EA Access, and I've got to say, I am very impressed with how good it is. However, there is one issue that there still is and has plagued past EA/Bioware games.

Hair.

now note I only did try out a male elf and female human, but I noticed a few things.

*still no long hair. (I know it's harder to animate but I figured with the new consoles, they would have made a jump
*I noticed that both of their hairstyles were shared. From what I saw, there weren't any unique hairstyles to either.
*some of the hairstyles were shared with companion for advisors. For example, I saw Varric's hair and Scribble's hair.
*like half of them were shaved hairstyles (Okay,so maybe thats an exaggeration, but I feel like there was a lot of them.
*Theres just as much variety of hair in Dragon Age 2, or maybe Dragon Age 2 had more.

Hair isn't too important really, but I was really hoping to have a long haired lady this time around :(

Shortish hair is fine by me, neck or shoulder length, arguably makes more sense/is more practical for an action person too

DAO shared hairstyles for all races too and it was fine so that doesn't really bother me

Having the hairstyles of NPCs can be a nice thing, it kinda sucks when you wish you could have someone's hair (like Morrigan's for exemple) but it's not available in the CC

Lots of shaved options is lame, I imagine most people prefer "actual" hair over peach fuzz/buzzcut or bald so having many is unwarranted imo

The number of hairstyles isn't really a problem in itself, if they were all cool/nice/pretty/etc it'd be great. People who want more of them probably figure something like "if I like 4 hairs out of 20, that means if there was 40 there'd be 4 more cool hairs"

I find hair to be a pretty important part of looking cool/badass/whatever but I'm not really worried, I've always found at least a couple styles I liked in BW games. Aside from the crappy qunari styles this time around but even then I still think one of them might be passable

I agree. The hair is the weak link in the character creation. Really should not be an issue, plenty of other games can do it without issue(e.g. Dragon's Dogma, Saints Row, Sunset Overdrive) so why not Dragon age?

I would also like to see some body customisation options ideally.

No body customization they said was because they wanted the race differences to be more apparent. And also to prevent clipping if you make yourself too beefy or not actually touching you're supposed to touch because you're too skinny. They could probably get around the latter if they had enough time and resources

1. Hair and beard texture looks like crap

2. Many hairstyles look like crap

3. No colour wheel for hair

4. Limited hairstyles for Qunari

5. No dark sclera option for Qunari

Are there qunari with dark sclera in canon ? It'd be cool but I don't remember any

The Arishok and the DA2 Qunari had dark sclera.

Fact: Dragon Age Inquisition does not have the best character customization.

Why?

1. The game doesn't allow you to save your different character combinations.

2. You cannot share, export, or easily recreate your character. Like in Saints Row 3/4.

3. This game has the best character customization

4. People are still complaining about hairstyles, features still not in the present game.

5. You cannot re edit your Inquisitor after creating him/her.

6. There are no numbers to recreate your character.

7. They didn't learn from their past games where DA 2 nailed the mirror and the ability to re edit your character.

There. Make it happen Bioware.
