I have not seen yet the last skill of the knight enchanter but i guess it will be mandatory so it could be my build for my full support Spirit mage + Knight Enchanter.

There are 36 used points. I really dont know if we will have less points but there are 30 levels and items to add extra points as i read in other threads so i was thinking in this build for my inquisitor. Anyway all advices will be appreciate.

I spent points in all active and passive skills of knight enchanter and almost spirit trees:

-Spirit Tree
Spoiler

-Knight Enchanter Tree
Spoiler

-Inferno Tree
In the inferno tree i spent 3 points to reach Flashpoint and Clean Burn.
Spoiler

-Winter Tree
After that i spent 6 points in the winter tree because i think it is the best for the defensive nature of the character. Winter passive skills will help us and Fade Step will save us more than once.

-Storm Tree

Finally, next 5 points, will be in the storm tree. We need 3 passive skills from here. Stormbringer, Gathering Storm and Static Charge.
Spoiler

In the skill setup i will put all the Knight Enchanter active Skills (4), Barrier, Dispel and Revival from Spirit tree, and the last skill for me is Wall of Ice due to Ice Armor which gives 50% damage reduction while we are near a "persistent cold spell".
Spoiler

Anyway, we have every situation and gaming style is different so we have many other options to help us.

-Flashfire: 300% weapon damage and 8 seconds fear.
-Chain Lightning: 250% weapon damage to 4 targets and shock to one of them for 8 seconds.
-Lightning Bold: 200% weapon damage and 2 seconds paralyzed for each nearby enemy.
-Winter's Grasp: 200% weapon damage and 4 seconds freeze.

I dont really like Mind Blast. We have Peaceful Aura doing the same and if any enemy is coming to attack us, the Wall of Ice will stop him, Fade Step to run away or even passive skills like Mana Surge (freezing) and Static Charge (paralyze). In storm tree there is one passive skill, Stormbringer which could be changed, depending on playstyle, for:

-Fortifying Blast (spirit): If you use Mind Blast, this will help empowering barriers.
Spoiler

-Frost Mastery (winter): If you use Winter's Grasp or want more duration on Mana Surge's freeze.
Spoiler

-Frost Step (winter): This will help chilling enemies you cross during 2 seconds so could help slowing them and doing 300% weapon damage.
Spoiler

Personally, i prefer Stormbringer because it will be damaging enemies while you are shielding the group our using base attacks.

I havent played yet but i was looking closely mage talents and since i am sure that Spirit+KE is what i want, i created this. What do you think?

Looks like Knight Enchanters are pretty damn tanky after all.

Necromancers seem to be straight up Spirit mages.

My thoughts for my first mage are similar to yours. Spirit, KE, Frost.

Some of the points I differ on...

First, it looks like your build is completely lacking a ranged detonator skill.

I plan on picking up Energy Barrage in the Storm tree, it's a detonator which works off your staffs energy type and the upgrade de-buffs magic resistance. Carry one of each type of staff and you can easily adjust your dmg type based on the enemies of the area you're in.

I'm not sure on the necessity of the points in the Inferno Tree.

And my thinking is the reverse of yours on Peaceful Aura and Mind Blast. Upgraded MB builds Barrier and it's a 2nd point blank detonator.

PA looks useful early in the game, before getting other threat management tools. But I generally respec at some point near mid game and, if I can, I'll save the point and skip PA completely.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that one either.

But I have to admit, I'm rather underwhelmed by that as the final skill of the tree.

At only 3m it's not much more then a single target CC... that breaks on hit.

With my plan of going heavily into Frost I'll already have a fair amount of CC, I may skip that last KE skill.

It could be useful in certain situations but i'm not getting it either. This way i'm free to invest heavily into the base trees while abusing spirit blade and the super nice passives.
