After lurking the forums I thought I would post some of my own fanfiction since I really enjoy a lot of the fiction / art being posted on here. I'm a member of the Swooping community on LJ and I'm hanging out in the IRC all the time. I was part of some fandoms a long time ago, but I'm surprised at how warm and welcoming the Dragon Age community is, so I was inspired to write fic.

For some reason Dragon Age inspires me to write all sorts of tragic and depressing fic so that I can make myself and others miserable. But now I have one piece of Zev/fem!Amell fluff!

A Cold Comfort (complete): It is no simple matter, safeguarding ordinary men from mages, and mages from themselves.
- About what happens in the Tower after Amell leaves and the consequences of mages consorting with demons.
- Original Mage/Templar.
- Mage Origin, Broken Circle and slight endgame spoilers.

Elegy (complete): I was once Cousland and then a Grey Warden. I have known all sorts of betrayal. Now my body becomes a pyre, fuel for my vengeance. This is a metamorphosis, of sorts.
- Some part of me really dislikes Cousland/Alistair happily ever after or Cousland/Alistair smut/fluff (there are a handful of exceptions). So I'm not sure why my response to this is to write a dark Cousland fic in order to add to the roster of Cousland/Alistair fics, go figure.
- Human noble and endgame spoilers.

Linger (companion piece to Tremble): You would learn from him how to mask what you felt, and to keep on smiling. But one close brush with death, and you crumble.
- Zev / fem!Amell fluff
- Zev romance spoilers

Tremble (companion piece to Linger): Once you left the tower and promised you would not return. Now here you are.
- Zev / fem!Surana dark fic
- M, dark themes (no explicit description, but warning: mention of underage, non-con, violence, sex)

Hush: She was Andruil, Goddess of the Hunt, and Zevran pledged himself to her completely, body and soul.
- Zev / fem!Cousland angst (but this is a love story, really)
- T, slight description of sex

Afterglow: What rises in the hour of deepening twilight.
- AU. When presented with the immense task of gathering the army to face the coming horde, the Grey Warden says no.
- My take on what will happen when a willful and furious fem!Cousland disregards the concern of the Blight and decides to forge her own path.
- M , violence and sex.

I'm always happy to hear from people and their thoughts on my writing even if it's to tell me it didn't work for them. So, nice to meet you all!

It was, wow. I'll be honest, I like reading all the fluff bits, but your take on that relationship in Elegy was amazing. It is definitely one of the best fanfics I have ever read for its emotional power.

I always wondered if Alistair would feel some sort of resentment at the PC for doing all of these things that he didn't want to do, and I always thought that the break up scene was very...unemotional and bland considering what they went through to get this far. So that was another part of my inspiration.

Just finished reading Elegy , it's so good but so sad at the same time, but I think that's what makes your story so great! I feel so moved after reading it, I think you captured the mood that the DA writers were trying to create. I love how you made the ending so bittersweet too .

It's always nice to hear some supportive comments. They make me happy.

I think the game inspires me because of the atmosphere. There's a lot of "human" behavior involved, like friends turning on friends or people betraying each other, but there's also some happiness as well.

So, so great. I devour angst. There's something wonderfully satisfying about having your heart ripped out of your chest and being able to stand there... and the feeling of it being gone.



Of course having such a huge need for angst, I still haven't been able to bring myself to do Ultimate Sacrifice.

Wow elegy was fantastic. For some reason I'm only ever to play my characters out as optimists....driven optimists...but still optimists. (I'm also an Alistair fangirl) This was really beautiful.

Thanks, AA! I'm trying to write in the way that the game speaks to me, which is mostly about the characters and how they develop, so this was my way of attempting to describe that.
