No.

SnS Reaver works just fine. 2-Handed Reaver could also be fine if you had him specced for spike damage and CCC.

You get seriously damaged by the spirit AOE -> activate Sacrificial Frenzy -> unleash all your spike damage talents and CCCs. The bastard loses so much health he has to teleport out. Rinse and repeat 3 (or was it 4?) times while managing the add-ins.

Still, you have to be very precise.

4 times I think.

My SnS was a Templar build (yes, yes I know. The spec wasn't optimised, but RP wise it was the only one that fit whilst Reaver did not) so MY Hawke was useless really, lol.

I did not run Reaver at all, considering I tend to run only 3 complete games to try all classes at least one, but does the damage spikes and frenzy work that wel, cause it sound like a totally different battlel? I just might to gave back to an earlier save and respec just to try it out.

Thanks for that, it gives me something to do over the weekend whilst I wait for DAI to preload.

The room with the Nexus golem, in the 'Hidden Dwarven Ruin' at Sundermont; honestly, it just kept spamming enemies. Even Cory, Flemeth and Gaxkang were less of a pain than that.

The Harvester from The Golems of Amgarrak is the only boss I remember taking more than two tries to crack. I think it took like four or five to take that damn thing down.

The room full of golems in Golem of Amgarrak, you know...the one with like 8 golems...just keep hurling gaint rocks at you...

You can just use the switch to avoid the fight, but still probably the toughest fight if you try to fight them.

The fight at the beginning of the Frostback Mountains area in DA:O. It was always disproportinally harder than every other non-boss fight I had. Same with the secret Blood Mage place in Denerim.

I am more of a "min-max"-er myself, so I am willing to compromise somewhat on some RP elements.

I basically followed Arelexxx's guide for SnS Berserker/Reaver with a few modifications of my own. I did first evolve the Reaver spec and then the Berserker. In fact my priorities were somewhat like this - Vanguard > Reaver/SnS tree > Berserker > Battlemaster for leftover points.

Sacrificial Frenzy is great, because in the most dangerous fights (with bosses and assassins) you lose large amounts of health, but this turns it into advantage. Up to a 100% (inverse proportional to your current health) of spike damage (ideally Disoriented+Scatter/Assault CCC) with an elemental weapon to bypass armour is nothing to sneeze at.

In fact I will leave this to the master. Here, have a treat. He's using Edge of Night there IIRC, only reskinned.

As for the Sky Horror - it's difficult because you have to stack up some spirit resist, predict where he will appear and start immediately his damn AOE spell and fire off your CCCs at the appropriate moment all the while managing the add-ins. Still, a lot less pausing than the Alpha Wyvern.

For me? GoA Harvester, hands down, especially since I was going for the achievement and faced it on nightmare. It absolutely did not help that I had no idea how to even damage him correctly for my first few pathetic deaths. I eventually managed to eke out a victory, and it had everything to do with the fact that I was viciously abusing duplicated tomes that entire playthrough.

Awegian scrolls no 2. I just cant seem to fathom how you beat those revanants? They regenerate on top of it all! I once had luck on nightmare with walking bomb but you must pass their resist checks. It took me countless tries and hours of lvling up and preperation.. Harvy dao... Xenebeck da2 was very hard and one of the most satisfying and strategic battles ever had

The harvester. Almost impossible, if your own char isn't a mage, because your companions are all melee fighters.

Golems of Amgarrak, the Golem Gangbang room. I'd basically breezed through Origins with a 2hander Templar/Champion that I respecced into a hostile-spell-immune dexterity-tank Templar/Champion/Guardian Sword-and-Boarder that made all of Awakening's boss fights trivial. Then that room... near-instant party wipe and thirty minutes of me backing into a corner, dodging two golems at a time while I plinked away at their health with my one-handed auto-attack, and downing a health poultice or five whenever the other golems got excited and started throwing rocks.

Ser Cauthreian just because it was clear that it was a "supposed to lose" fight that you can actually win. She just puts out so much damage and the number of enemies that attack is so unfair that if you don't actively know it is coming or haven't gone some ungodly spec then there is little you can do.

Actually never mind, it is the optional golem fight from Golems of Amgarrak. That fight sucked. Several Elite and Boss level Golems that will throw rocks at you every chance they get.

Funny, the first time I played I defeated her, I didn't learn until later that I missed out on a part of the game^^"

Also, Harvester is horrible. Defeated him last week on hard to get the achievement, it was annoying as hell.

The Harvester in Golems of Amgarrak has to be the hardest battle in DA. I wiped about 5 times until I found out that I can make the skeletons dissapear by pressing that one button. After I found out, I still wiped 2 times, but eventually beat it.

Ser Cauthrien is also almost impossible, but at least it's not a immediate game over if you lose tha fight.

The sky horror also managwed to kill my entire party with his AOE abilities the first time. But he actually gets easier once you know what to look out for. He still hell with melee characters though.

As far as the High Dragon at the Ruined Temple, I always found that having Dog with you was the best tank option. Dog is the beast when fighting that particular dragon, if you are a ranged Warden and keep an eye on his health & stamina that worm is DEAD.

Yep. If the game lets me kill whoever, I will kill that whoever. Most of the time I let Ser Cauthrien live.

Which was the boss in Golems of Amgarrak?  Maybe it was because I had to set the settings on a harder level to get the bonus item.  That was my toughest fight.

edit: Okay it was the Harvester.

edit 2:  I'd like to say that from the videos I've seen, I have a feeling some of the fights, even on casual, will be much harder on DA:I than even possibly the Harvester.  Those dragons seem pretty mean.  Some of the fights I've seen in the videos seem to take a while to finish and that's just the normal fights you bump into trotting along.
