Because, he is - apparently, most likely, rather certainly... the "Big Bad" of this game.

Perhaps it's the same as if an Archdemon possesses a Darkspawn: The body is slowly altered until the Archdemon is eventually reformed.

It is not just some random dwarf - it is Inquisitor. So that part "about eroding him to the bones" is rather not true

Picture 3 - upper right conversation option, is everything I wanted from the villain. 
I can now put 50% of the weight of my concerns about this game away.
Those 5 words means everything to me from a roleplaying aspect and from a person who does not believe in good or evil, only that all beings are driven by motivation - and understanding that motivation is understanding that person on a human related level.
