I laughed hysterically when I saw that. Wonder what he does to the Qunari and Humans. He might still be able to pick up the Elves.

He will likely pick elves and possibly even humans by the arm and probably just hold up a Qunari's arm in a similar position.

Corypheus IS the elder one, there a rumors he wants to bring back Dumat but he doesn't, he has lost faith in him and representing himself after what happened in the golden city.
He plans to champion Tevinter and have it rise again as its leader and god.

Exactly what I have been expecting, and I really don't know why other people were expecting something different, especially after the art book leak. Personally, I don't think Legacy could not have been any more in-your-face with the foreshadowing.

i was hoping awakening would take more of a central point. (hopefully next game now)

So just how did Corypheus survive? Did he transfer himself into the Warden as he died. He did look his was as he died.

 

My big question is if you didn't play the DLC you'd had no idea who this guy is. I assume they run over his history in game? Corypheus said he was "seeking"  the "light". Did he find it?

 

Is he really the general villain in the game? I'm surprised they used a character from a DLC to a game many didn't even like.

Corytheus found the light but it was only Darkness. In the Black City he discovered that the Maker was not there and the Golden City was already the Black City and entering it lead to his and the other Magister's corruption. After awakening in Legacy he escaped by body snatching the Warden Hawke sided with (but Corytheus would had escaped no matter what even if Hawke never got involved in Legacy). Now with the absence of Dumat and seeing there is no Maker in the Black City he believes there is no God for this World. Knowing this he seeks to become the new God of the World by entering the Fade once again and claiming the Black City for himself. However, to do this he must destroy the Veil which leads to the events of DAI....

 

It is still unknown what was the voice that called him and the other Magister's into the Black City but I'm guessing that will be for another DA game storyline or maybe for a continuation of DAI story in a DLC or expansion.
