Has it actually been confirmed how Friendly Fire works in the Single Player game? Higher difficulties only? Toggleable? Removed entirely?

I am interested in FF also affects beneficial AOE like Healing grenades.

I'd assume that a healing grenade would just work regardless of FF toggle. Positive/negative effect segregation with regards to friendly fire and its ilk has basically been a staple of BioWare since BG2 when they made Magic Resistance only affect negative spells.

Yes I think its easier to apply that logic when it is being wielded by a Mage, who theoretically can shape the magic so that only the intended recipients of the spell benefit from it. Not sure how that works with a pre-prepared alchemical mixture that disperses a cloud of healing vapour into the air.

I understand that gameplay should always be the number one consideration, but in the discussions about the changes to healing this is the one point that I concede the pro-healing guys have raised that I really agree with. If a thrown damage grenade can casue friendly fire, a thrown healing grenade should be the same.

If you toggle Friendly Fire on, does that affect enemies too? Because it seems kind of unrealistic and unfair if they still have no friendly fire but your party does.

Ideally I would like every character to be on an even playing field.

I can't comment on these healing granades (first time hearing about them - and didn't have/take the time to craft new potion/granade sadly)

, but friendly fire is a toggle in the gameplay menu (no matter the difficulty). Also keep in mind that FF include basic attack with 2handed warrior:)

I think friendly fire is always on for enemies, regardless of your setting.

That's how DA2 worked.

Do we already know how asymmetric party and enemy hp and damage values are this time?

It was? I swear I played through that whole game and never noticed this once.

No. Mike was talking about the asymmetry recently, but then I asked a question about FF and he clammed up.

So I expect it's still stupid.

DA2 enemies did so little damage and had so many hp that they could have hit each other for hours and not died.

Well, a Dragon was fighting a Giant and they took out each others health according to a review. Letting IB kill the Giant easier.

I'd love it if we could heal our enemies by accident, or they could heal us.

Off topic, but this is a fun word to read out loud.

That's a necessary solution if the asymmetry isn't terrible.

Because the AI isn't smart enough to use AoE properly. They aim the center of the aoe on a target regardless if it's better to cast on the ground in the middle of a group

Well there goes the idea of me using friendly fire. The main reason I wanted to use friendly fire was because of the realism. Enemies not taking friendly fire damage is not very realistic.

Friendly fire for most games is not about realism but more about adding to the difficulty.

That's part of the fun - tricking the enemy into killing itself.

If that were the case, I would never turn it on.

Its only fun if you outsmart them...and the AI isn't advanced enought yet to make the 'outsmarting' fun:)

...ofcourse that disregards such instances where you are battling something much stronger than you and you only win because you trick it to kill itself...
