he is an awkward guy.  The hat is fitting for him.  Not every character has to have a fashion sense.  funny enough, Angsty teen is pretty on par to who/what he is and how long he has been around...

I don't mind cole because he just want to help stop the pain of the world. 

 

His entire life in the Mortal world all he see is pain from the evil acts of other people and all he wants is to make it stop because he can hear their pain in his head.

Seriously. Who thought that hat was a good idea and implemented it?

My own personal story is that Varric gave it to him as a gift for doing some prank on Cassandra for him and rewarded him the "Good Spirit" hat as a reward and Cole, in his own naivety, accepted it and prizes it.

He had the mind of a child in Asunder. He's grown up a bit since then. Now he's an adorable angsty teenager. Corpse-like or not he's still way more attractive than Iron Bull or Blackwall and he doesn't have a creepy moustache like Dorian

I TOTALLY AGREE. IB is just...it's just weird romancing someone with horns. I'm not into beards or mustaches as well, so playing as a gay Inquisitor...either I force Dorian to shave or I end up pining over Cullen and Cole.

Forcing Dorian to shave is a crime against moustaches.

I'm actually looking forward to meeting Cole.

 

I was very interested in his character after reading Asunder and was pretty excited when I learned he was going to be a companion in Inquisition. I will admit that I was mildly disappointed in not being to romance him. But I understand, he does have a very child like mind and I can understand how that would be... very creepy to romance someone like that. But I also wasn't quite sure how long it had been since the events of Asunder took place to the forming of the Inquisition.

 

Either way, I look forward to learning more about him and seeing how much he has developed (or lack there of).

he has a back story I won't spoil.  There is a reason for his naivety that is well beyond his physical age.

no he is a spirit that is more or less mimicking the form of the once dead cole and plus he inherited his memories as well.

I don't like that pushing him towards being more human seems to be the rivalry path that nets his disapproval. Why is it a bad thing to want him to fit in?
