After playing the early release there is one thing that is really frustrating: the fact that I cannot disrupt a rift while in tactical cam mode.  I have to switch to action mode, at which point the rest of my party is left helpless (because I turned off the AI; it is not good AI).

This would not be so bad if I had some clues on how to time it.  However, while in tactical cam I don't even get any feedback as to whether the rift is still "on cooldown" or it can be disrupted.  So I have to quickly switch to action mode, see if the key-hint appears on the rift, and jump back to tactical if it is not.  This is very annoying.  It often negates the purpose of "play forward" in tactical cam mode.

Moral of this story is don't turn off the AI completely for you companions so they are not helpless.

Assuming you are correct...

Rift disruption is a "power" move and you now know its not a move you can't use in tactical mode so plan your rift disruptions accordingly.

What platform are you playing on because I could have sworn I saw a youtube video of someone closing a rift in tactical.

Why can't you close a rift in Tactical Mode? What happens if you try? Does the option simply not appear? Why would that be?

Is this a console-only problem? Devs have said that it's possible to play the entire game in Tactical Cam on PC.

Since you are on early access I have to assume this is an xbone(console) issue.    Will be pretty disappointing if I have to switch to twitch mode on the PC during combat in order to do something.

As far as I can tell, the AI for this game is "check if ability would affect someone; if so, spam it".  Which means when you want an ability (say, for a cross-class combo), it is always on cooldown. So you have to turn it off.

You can remove certain powers from the AI so as to make cross-class combos happen.  But my experience is that this resets everytime you change party members, so you have to keep reseting it (sigh).

I think of it as a spell with casting time.  No reason it cannot be done tactically.

Yes.  I am a console player.  My wife is much happier with long hours of gaming if she can watch it on the TV.  I have tried hooking a PC to the TV, but the controls just suck.  So I play on consoles these days.

The option is not there.  In Action mode, you can do it if you press "A" on the XBox gamepad, but the "A" prompt must be present.  After a disruption there is a short cooldown.  In tactical cam, the "A" prompt never appears, even when the rift can be disrupted.

Well you need to read the manual or something because you can interact with rifts in tactical mode, according to offical sources.

So I don't know what to tell you.

Then maybe the trial is bugged.  Because I cannot.  I have tried.

You can disrupt the rift while in tactical cam mode. I'm not sure the detail though there is an action called "Interaction" so I think you can do so.
