I noticed that i was able to do this in the keep, that is: making Merrill status as dead, plus having the dalish clan also killed. In a previous version of the keep these 2 options seemed to be exclusive with one another.

 

Does anyone knows if this is a bug, or it is intended? If i remembre correctly from DA2, if you did Merrill quest in act 3 (the dalish clan stuff), then she would automatically side with you no matter what, so she could not die. She can only die if you do not complete her Act 3 quest + you side with templars.

I think you could have all of them die,if you do not do the Merrill "Questioning Beliefs" quest

The keep is correct, and you are incorrect.
Merrill can turn on you if you side with the templars and Anders can turn. Also her Act 3 Questioning Beliefs is what triggers her loyalty not her Act 3 quest which can kill her clan.

If I remember it correctly Merrill's final companion quest to make contact with the demon imprisoned in Sundermount results in a confrontation with her former clan mates. You can imagine that they are royally pissed that their Keeper (who sacrificed herself to the demon to protect Merrill) is dead at the hands of her estranged apprentice. To prevent bloodshed you are given three dialogue choices and one chance. If you choose anything other than the bottom forceful response that goes along the lines of "Merrill messed up, I'll take her back to Kirkwall and make sure this never happens again" the clan will take matters into their own hands and attempt to kill Merrill and you on the spot - thus resulting in the need to wipe out the entire tribe to escape the mountain.

 

And of course you can kill Merrill if you side against the mages and can't convince her to join your side.

The real inconsistency involves Merrill's Eluvian.  If you finish her quest chain and she decides to either keep or smash the mirror, it's impossible to kill her.  However, since there isn't a "didn't help Merrill with her Eluvian" option, you're forced to pick one even if she died.

There is a "she didn't destroy the Eluvian" which is correct, as she can die her clan can die and the Eluvian won't be broken.
