I was a bit disappointed Ser Michel didn't participate in the fight with Imshael, but it was still nice to run into my favorite character from TME.

I was happy to see him in the game... but he looked nothing like I'd imagined he would.
Then again, there were zero descriptors of him in the books...
Still, didn't picture him as a blonde in my head...

Ah, a good man. Sadly, he dies in my first playthrough.

Yeah, it would've been nice to have to choose between him or the party defending the town or fighting Imshael. He just seemed to give up on that way too easily. It's not like I think he's wrong for wanting to defend ordinary folk - that's completely commendable! - but it seems a little out of character to drop his pledge like a hot potato.

I am so disappointed what they did to him in game that I want to drink like Cassandra and break into their office. One of the most intresting characters doesn't have his story! Maker he even doesn't have Codex entry!

So in my second playthrough to reach the area I found him, got the quest, and recruited him.
Have to say, though, after seeing how badly he was being beaten by two red templar horrors, I have to wonder exactly what his plan was for the two dozen red templars still in the fort, including a behemoth and a giant, not to mention Imshael, himself.
Seriously, was this whole pursuit of Imshael one long, elaborate suicide attempt?

i hope he can be made into a companion in the next DLC or game. He is cool and I like him. I was hoping he can join in the fight against his arch enemy but too bad. at least I recruited him.

"Michel is the bastard elf-blooded son of an elven mother and a human commoner father."
I just rememberd one of the Cole's ramblings when he said something like "Do not trust a half-elf". Now I began to wonder, because I know only 3 half-elves(Alistair, Feinriel and now him) in game and Michel is the newest...
In my PT I gave him to Leliana to study Briala's eluvians and he was then in the garden. How can you get him in the Garden??? I recruited him & assign him to Cullen. He's nowhere in Skyhold! Aaargh I want to talk to him in game...

I hated that they made him chicken out at the gates of Suledin. "There are shades attacking the village I must go kill them! You deal with Imshael!" C'mon, the dude swore to kill Imshael and undo his own mistake of freeing the demon ("Ahem. Choice. Spirit.") and spent a good few years traveling around Orlais to find him. But now he runs away to attack a few menial shades, because the Inquisitor can't do that apparently?
I'd have preferred to have him ask the Inquisitor to go attack the shades, and upon returning to Suledin, the player fins Michel dead at Imshael's feet. Or wounded at the courtyard entrance. Or fighting the Red Templars, after which he joins the Inquisitor in the fight as an NPC ally.

I don't know if it's just a quirk of my playthrough, but when I found him at the gates of Suledin, he was getting his ass handed to him by the pair of red templar horrors he was fighting. With that in mind, I find it difficult to believe he'd make it to Imshael given that there's a couple giants between the gates and him.

But does he know that? At the very least, he could've fought through Suledin at the Inquisitor's side. It seemed a bit weird to just hand the fight against Imshael over to the Inquisitor like that.

Yea, that could have worked.
I think they just wanted to separated Michel from the Inquisitor for the sake of the deal Imshael offers.

Seriously, he couldn't come up with a beter deal than that?

I wish there was a cinematic scene for Michel De Chevin. He was my favorite character in that book, and he didn't even do anything. He could at least been an temporary ally.
