He probably killed one or two.
Then spent years protecting an empress who sought to improve their lives.
Whatever crimes he may have committed, I'd say he more than repaid them.

Until the empress he was serving decided it was politically expedient to save face by slaughtering a whole lot of elves in Halamshiral. ![]()

lol it was hardly one or two, the nightly raids involved murdering as many elves as you could, something he himself admitted and enjoyed doing. He also encouraged the empress to not let the elves "get any ideas" about standing up for themselves, and spent the entire book expressing disdain for elves. He was also disgusted with her for having a relationship with Briala. his reasons for protecting Celene have nothing to do with her attempts at bettering people's lives, you are attempting to create a connection where there is none, if anything he constantly discouraged her from doing so and even to be ruthless. Keep rationalising and making excuses for him though, says more about you than him really, its cute ![]()

Oh, I made no attempt at a connection. Michel is allowed to disdain the elves.
However, if what you are concerned are the one or two elves he killed in his initiation, then protecting an empress who sought to help them should balance that out.
Also, I do not recall any mention of "nightly raids" beyond the one at his initiation as a chevalier.

They killed guards and merchants and barricaded themselves.
What would you have the Chevaliers do? Send an envoy to discuss terms? And embolden them to do worse next time?

This song suits Michel.
War god. Screens made by Sylven
lease developers give us Michel instead of Vivienne.
Yes Yes pls lets!! ![]()
He's so pretty it hurts - and while they are at it, lets make him Romanceable aswell!

Sailor Michel de Chevin, yes!
Honestly love Michel a lot, especially after reading The Masked Empire. I also have a huge love for Cheritenne alias Bog Unicorn.
Do you think than when Michel goes by the horse stable in Skyhold, do they recognize each other? Ugh, my heart can't take it, I'm shipping them hard together.
Of all the of the Masked Empire characters, Michel's in game design was the only one I really liked.
That is pretty gorgeous. ![]()
Chevalier is Totally badass.
Maybe I'm forgetting something from the book, but I don't think I'd imagined him as a blonde.
I felt a little bad when Imshael killed him, but laughed at the war table when Cullen said, "The circumstances surrounding his death are a stain on this Inquisition." Who tattled on me?

You did make a deal with a demon pretty infamous for tattling
While surrounded by three people who, very likely, disapproved of that deal.
Was Michel a self-hating racist or did he pretend to be one so no one would think he was elf-blooded?

I think it was more complicated than that. His using "knife ear" as a slur to insult Briala was her cue that he was hiding something, because using it was out of character for him. He also never begrudged Celene's efforts on behalf of the Elves, or bridled at her regret over Halamshiral.
I think he has significant resentment toward his Elven blood, but it has more to do with the fear of discovery and what that would do to his life, everything he's worked for than it has to do with any self hatred.
