Recently, I got a new keyboard - a fancy shmancy one with a small lcd screen. I programmed it to show my cpu usage.

I was recently playing WoW a bit, and was curious- so I looked down and noticed only like 4 of 8 cores were being used. I assume because it is the way WoW is coded.

My question is will DAI be optimized to use 8 cores?

I don't see how anyone other than the devs could answer this...

Only Devs can give you a correct answer, but I sincerely doubt the game utilizes more than four cores.

Yes. The FB3 engine is one of the few engines that are multi-threaded.

The best answer I can give is that in the recommended specs they did mention 6-cores.

Idk about 8

As far as I know, most games use one core. Which kind of defeats the purpose, really.

Ekhm. No.

Most of the recent games (and by recent I mean 4+ years) utilize up to 4 cores at least.

Some older games, released in time when dual and quad core CPUs didn't exist (or were not popular) did utilize only one core.

An example for that, might be The Witcher (2007), which utilize only one core as far as I remember (it can even lead to some performance issues, where you can be bottlenecked by CPU, as the game is unable to utilize all your cores).

"Will DA:I use all 8 of my cores?"

This sounds like a bit of a personal, intimate question, OP...
