One thing that's confused me about the keep is that the only way to have both the Vigil and Amaranthine saved is with an import bug right? There never was an actual chance to save them both? Or am I misunderstanding what that means.
Edit: Terribly sorry for the double topic post, my internet has been buggy lately and it does this sometimes.

If you did the quests to buff up the keep. Then the keep has a better chance suriving if you went to save aramanthine.

It refers to defending the city while the Keep is fully upgraded. Epilogue states the Keep holds with heavy losses. Wasn't recognized as such in DA2, but that is the tile intent.

Oh so that's what it means. I thought it meant that import bug where you can trick the game into thinking the Warden went to both Amaranthine and the Vigil, thus having both related quests available in DA:2. I guess that does make more sense.

Saving Amaranthine or Vigils keep doesnt give you any choices. Its if Nathaniel survived that gives you one quest or the other.

Yes it does. One is related to the conspiracy in DAA if you save the Keep...and I forgot the one for saving the city.

Yeah, if you saved Amaranthine you get the side quest Secret Rendezvous (http://dragonage.wik...cret_Rendezvous) whereas if you save Vigils Keep you get The Conspirators (http://dragonage.wik...he_Conspirators). The bug in DA2 occurred if you imported an Awakening save from before making the choice which to defend, so you gain access to both quests

The bug also occurred if you saved, did one then loaded your save and did the other. Or at least it did for me. but yes, it does lead to 2 quests depending, and if you did that bug you get them both.

Well I stand corrected. Might need to replay DA2 then

Yep, if you fully upgraded the keep and your soldiers.  (I don't think you needed to do the dwarve's firebomb quests) And then chose to defend Amaranthine, the epilogue states the Darkspawn horde broke impossibly broke against the Keep's walls and were defeated.  Depending on which companions you left behind, you could even keep all of them alive.  (As long as you left Justice behind. Even though it says he was killed in the epilogue, DA2 obviously retcons that)

Well that just means the body was killed. In several epilogues, the spirit just leaves and the body drops.

Justice epilogue was slightly reconned, his body fall downs but the spirit never said it had to go back to the fade. He even said he wasn't sure what would happen if he left the body in one of the companion conversations he has with other party members

Where is the retcon? Other than that you don't have to recruit him, i mean.
