Well, the ESRB pretty much spoiled it. This game will have more nudity than the entire Mass Effect trilogy combined. I expect at least 1 Fox "news report" on this subject.

And you can turn gore off, seek out peaceful solutions, and generally minimize such content without cutting themselves off from the story.

You can't turn killing off. You also can't turn gore off, just persistent gore. The ESRB said the most mature thing about this game is killing things, just like it's always been. But Killing things is okay, because it won't turn the grown ass men and women who should be playing these games in the first place into perverts. If nudity makes you uncomfortable, fine. I can't blame you for that. Don't expect to sleep with people then.

Naked people are scary.

Naked women are scary. I've never seen people complain about seeing butts or men with no shirt on.

So far it seems like its only in the romances. I wasn't wondering for me, I'm more wondering for my younger brother who wanted to play it. As long as it's avoidable it should be fine. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't any nudity that is unavoidable in the game beforehand (possibly with the desire demons or other creatures). Thanks for the help, if anyone can confirm for me whether or not there is unavoidable adult content it'd be greatly appreciated.

If your little brother does play the game and spies some nudity somewhere in there, please don't blame Bioware for that. It is a mature title and not meant for those under +17.

I'm only saying this because of what happened with ME and basically every other time a news network or group of organized individuals get together to complain and run a story about how video games are poison to the young mind or whatever they decide to convince themselves of first. This game was in production a long time, and everyone knew that there would be mature material involved.

Also, I don't feel comfortable asking your brother's age, so I'm just going to assume he is leaning closer to 17 than 12. With the invention of the internet, I really don't see how brief nudity in games is a big mindblower.

Not a one. I don't really care about why you don't like nudity, or least why it "isn't your preference". You see, I did something that naturally happens when humans talk, I bridged points. Notice other people have talked in this thread besides you.

I would be more concerned with the violence than the nudity to be honest. Nudity will be limited to the romances, desire demons, brood mothers, and mabye enemines-we-know-nothing-off, and only last a few seconds. Violence exposure is much higher, you know, with possible Inquisitor-lead beheadings and such.

To each his own. I wouldn't let your little brother play the game if he is under 17.

as GRRM says:

“I can describe an axe entering a human skull in great explicit detail and no one will blink twice at it. I provide a similar description, just as detailed, of a penis entering a vagina, and I get letters about it and people swearing off. To my mind this is kind of frustrating, it’s madness. Ultimately, in the history of [the] world, penises entering vaginas have given a lot of people a lot of pleasure; axes entering skulls, well, not so much.”

Mockery, exaggeration,  really weird assumptions.  Call it what you will.  I don't see many points being bridged.  Just poking fun at people who have a preference different from yours.

I'm guessing you didn't read:

So obviously they think it's fine if they're brother sees himself and his party blowing up scores of people, but as soon as a little skin is shown, it's unacceptable.

There's an un-avoidable broodmother romance that you have to get through.

True, but no forced nudity this time. Wearing some kind of lingerie or whatever.

Even avoiding romance, I wouldn't be completely sure you're safe from nudity. This is seeming to be the most mature game of the DA series so far, so it might be best to not let your little brother play it if you're concerned about him being exposed to heavy violence and sexual situations/nudity.

That he's younger and thus shouldn't see nudity, at least from the OP's view. Which is fine, but does not matter because if he shouldn't see nudity, he shouldn't really see this kind violence, which is far worse according the ESRB, either.

Quite a few things I need to respond to here.

I am not stupid, I plan on playing the game first to determine if the violence and language is something he should be able to witness. As far as the sexual content goes, it does not bother me, I was asking for my brother, who has played previous dragon age games, where that stuff was avoidable. If I decide it is safe for my brother to play, I'll be guiding him around the times where he will need to steer away from certain dialogue options and opt out of certain situations, that isn't a problem. The language problem is easily solved with the mute button, or the voice volume option. I wouldn't blame Bioware for any content that might be in the game, after all the rating gives you a fair warning. I'll most likely just wait a few days post-release to see how extensive the questionable content is and then make my decision. I know romances are avoidable, I was just wondering if the nudity was anywhere in the game that would be unavoidable or something like that. For all the people who tried to answer my question, thank you. It's no secret that it is an M-Rated game, so I don't see why everyone seems to think I somehow missed the giant warning signs from ESRB. I had one simple question, and some of you were helpful in your answers, so thank you for that.

Never said the content bothered me, I was just wondering if anyone had any knowledge of unavoidable content in the game. With all the leaks and reviews out, I thought maybe someone heard something that I didn't. More helpful answers are appreciated, but I don't need your comments and world views on sex/violence. So leave that out of your posts, because honestly, I don't care and it does nothing to answer the question.

Thank you guys for your help:)

But nudity was not really avoidable in the past Dragon Age games. Like the broodmother in DA:O, you had to got through her to finish the Orzammar quest line. You could avoid the various desire demons, but at least one of them was plot essential (Redcliffe). If nudity to that extent is fine, then you're brother should be fine.

I have only heard that this time, we are not going to get dry-humping in underwear in the romance scences, as in the previous DA games.

The double standard really is silly. Powering mind-control magic with blood, torture, executions, decapitations, disfigurement, people blowing up with Walking bomb, all fine and dandy. Heaven help you if you show some ****** during a sex scene, however, those are scary and will corrupt our children forever.

The game isn't out yet, so no one can really say if there is avoidable nudity or not. But as a rule, this is a 18+ game with Partial Nudity as rated by the ERSB (if I remember right), so I'm pretty sure Bioware hasn't pulled any punches if it requires it, and not only in romances.
