I do not like that Bioware has decided to add nudity into the games, especially in scenes where dialogue has to occur so the players who don't want to see it for whatever reason can't just skip the sex scene or whatever other scenes contain it and not miss anything.

And you can turn gore off, seek out peaceful solutions, and generally minimize such content without cutting themselves off from the story.
I would say "minimize" is sort of nominal, given that you're going to be slaughtering huge numbers of people no matter what choices you make.

Um, they've always allowed you to skip the "sex scene" and skipping it doesn't distract from doing a romance. ![]()

There appears to be dialogue during these love scenes now. Skipping them now means skipping dialogue. That's new.

Huh, that is new. Well it is M rated.

Asked a similar question a few months ago for LadyInsanity to answer when she was interviewing Gaider.
/Some/ romances you don't need to have sex in order to complete the romance, so there ya go~

I confess, I must ask how you'd hope to avoid the huge amounts of mandatory combat in this game...

As Iakus said, in the old games there was no dialogue during the sex scenes. There was dialogue, then the sex scene, then dialogue again after the characters got redressed. In Inquisition, the third part isn't like that but has them talking while still undressed.

Sometimes I think people just like to b!tch.
If this causes people not to buy the game, well, you will be missed.

What I would like to know, is why do we always have to sit through boobs after boobs, but we never see any nice penises? Why can't men show a bit too?

That's some rough stuff going on in that love scene.

By turning off persistent gore, taking diplomatic options when possible, and.
Oh, wait, you're being sarcastic.
*sigh* It never ceases to amaze me when people compare combat with nudity. It's like saying "well, you like apples, so you must like oranges too! Go eat an orange! What are you, citrus-phobic!?"

Why does nudity offend you so much? It's not even real nudity.
I find it odd that people go into an M rated game and complain about M rated content. Besides, DA has already given us sex and nudity in past games. What's your problem?

Well, there's plenty of stuff about the game I don't think I'll like either. But I don't feel impelled to create threads before I've even played the game about how terrible it is.By turning off persistent gore, taking diplomatic options when possible, and.

If you feel that strongly about it, don't buy the game.
Otherwise, why not give it a try and see how things go instead of worrying incessantly about something that may or may not happen and may or may not be tolerable? It's like you're pre-complaining before you've even experienced the romances.
Also, you're completely ignoring the poster who stated Gaider himself said not all romances had sex.
It seems like it's relatively avoidable with minor effort...you could probably ask the posters on here in about a week which romances have sex and which don't.

Not to this degree.
And while it may be shocking, different people have different preferences for different reasons. This is a direction Bioware has not taken to such a degree before.

While this is not to my preference, it's not a deal-breaker to me.
What brings me to comment is the barrage of mockery, dismissive behavior, and cries of "PRUDE!!!" when people who it really does bother dare try to make themselves heard.

I'm afraid why I am uncomfortable with it is too personal a subject to share on the Internet with strangers. I am sorry.

ugh, every time nudity is brought up there's always a bunch of try hards who just want to go '' I BET YOU'RE OFFENDED!!AND RELIGIOUS OR A PRUDE!! YOU'D WATCH BEHEADINGS BUT BE OFFENDED BY A SINGLE BOOB'' okay? calm down, no need to drool over yourself in a frenzy to prove how cool and un-PC you are. I like romances (though that goes for friendships too) because they add depth and replay value, but I think I don't need to see the money shot or nudity to get the point, watching pixels go at it is plain awkward plus video game boobs always look like two hard grapefruits glued to a chest.

Actually, I wasn't being sarcastic. Because everything you've mentioned thus far has extraordinarily little impact on the sheer amount of violence that the game will force you to dish out, and I'm wondering what difference, in truth, what you said makes to the overall point.
But I will say that it seems somewhat peculiar to me to be more fine with vast amounts of mandatory violence than with any nudity. This isn't to say that one must approve of the other if one likes the one, I just don't quite get how this thought process works.

To be honest, sometimes the sheer amount of killing in DA games does get silly. Hawke must have depopulated Kirkwall several times over. But one does not buy a game with a character wielding a sword or a flaming staff and not expect violence.
But as to why people would not like or be uncomfortable with nudity, there's a lot of reasons. Sure some may find it offensive. But others may simply be uncomfortable with it. (hey, there are people uncomfortable with the sight of blood too)

And thus do we have the ESRB rating. The box will give all the necessary information about nudity as it will about violence.
