I wonder how those who sneer at people for not caring for nudity in the romances would react if romance also included things like pregnancy, marriage, STDs, etc.

Too uncomfortable?

Morrigan's romance already included a pregnancy.

Which, honestly, seems like a miracle given that you had sex with her through your underwear.

Nudity is really only part of a bigger problem. And I am already getting help for that problem. See a therapist every Saturday. Anmd that is all I will say on the matter.

I don't need any more info than that. As long as you are getting some help. Cause no one should be that fearful or uncomfortable with nudity. Especially fake nudity.

Uh... No?

None of those things scare me or make me uncomfortable.

We have photographic evidence that says otherwise.

Thus why "said" is in quotation marks  ;)

Thanks. Even that much nearly gave me a minor panic attack.

I didn't see that. Sorry.

Hmm. We've had pregnancies in BG2 and DA:O. Skyrim's got marriage. Not sure about STDs except for that bit in DA2.

I am excited for it, yes. But that doesn't mean it is one of the interests you were referring to earlier.

As for the negativity, the fact that every single thing I feared is in the game so far is a pretty good reason to not hope that this one is different. If it is, great. But I'm not going to be optimistic about it until then. That has backfired too many times.

Fair enough Kallen.  You seem like a nice person and I genuinely hope that you enjoy the game.  We don't always see eye to eye, but it doesn't stop me from wanting to see you enjoy the game that you've been waiting to play for years.

I'm not talking about little bits in the epilogue or a spouse that hangs out at Skyhold and accumulates cash for you.  I'm talking about a visible part of the romance.  As much as any love scene.

A romance where marriage is an option, or in some cases even required to complete a romance arc?

 I'm talking visible baby bump

I'm talking really awkward questions as you gather particular herbs for Skyhold's medic.

If T&A is a natural part of a romance, why not these as well?

The only reason why those things would be uncomfortable for me would be because I play pretty much exclusively as gay and lesbian characters...  Otherwise, no issues with them.  I'd be totally fine with it.

As for forgetting the game, I don't have that luxury since it is a gift so the person giving it would be offended if I just shelf it.

You couldn't just explain why you're shelving it?

Sounds fine to me, though I'd need to see a more detailed proposal for female PCs.

Honestly I think these are decent ideas. Some people expect marriage so that would make sense for a romance arc. The baby bump thing could be cool so long as you aren't killing demons with it, after all pregnancy is a delicate condition.
Isabella had something and my Hawke that slept with her very well could have caught it. But there is magic for that, after all isn't that what it's for.

Also there is nothing wrong with 'T&A', except that the term you used for it is very misogynistic.

Well, given the responses from people saying they'd be fine with it, I'd say your attempts to shame people for liking realistic romances that happen to involve nudity as a bunch of dirty perverts who just want to see boobies is kind of backfiring on you.

Certainly wasn't my intention.  My first instinct was to say "graphic nudity" but figured I'd be called out for using such a subjective term. "Boobs and butts" while accurate, seemed too clumsy, so I shortened it to something more...familiar.

At any rate, I can say that the last time the topic of children with a LI came up it was decidedly, tepid in response:

ughh how I hate this same thing over and over again people being offended or uncomfortable with Nudity

the only real question is whats your age? its a mature rated game after all so it depends on that

If yes then you shouldn't have a problem with nudity its part of the game like killing hundreds of people and all the other violence

The nudity doesn't offend me or make me uncomfortable, but if it makes someone else feel that way, why do you even care? Honestly its not affecting you in any way, so I fail to see why some of you people decided to make an argument out of that. It is merely a matter of preference, so everyone's opinion on the subject will obviously differ from person to person. I'll probably end up avoiding the nudity myself but still completing a romance (clearly one that doesn't require sex), because I just don't feel like watching the sex scene, its not that I'm uncomfortable or offended by it, just that I'm not interested in seeing it. That being said, since we've already established that some romances do not require sex, there shouldn't be any more problems, its a win-win. You want sex scenes, you got em, and if you don't, you got that option too.

Only thing I was wondering about were the desire demons, since they tend to be provocative and we have no details about nudity outside of romances. As long as its restricted to romances, then I'm perfectly okay with getting the game, especially since they do not need to be completed and sex is not required for all romance arcs. I'll probably have to wait for my question about the desire demons and other scenes outside of romances to be answered until after release, which is fine with me.

and violence isn't nearly as much of a concern as sex because violence is unavoidable in the real world, unless you live in a closet, it always exists and its everywhere. Sex is not something you see in public or in most stories, games, and movies. Violence is everywhere, it is not something that one can be sheltered from until a certain age. Although excessive violence can be questionable in some cases, its not as questionable as sex for younger players/viewers, because its not as difficult for them to understand/comprehend. You learn about violence at a much younger age than you learn about sex.

Nudity is something that should be accepted in a close relationship so I don't get why people would get upset by seeing it if they where seeking a romantic relationship with one of the companions. Just don't try to get into someones pants as the inquisitor and you should be fine and why worry about what other people can or can't do in the game?

wait what? You don't see sex in most movies? What kind of movies or tv shows do you watch? And how is violence everywhere?
Especially for the people who live in Europe and America ("first world countries") I would say we live a pretty normal life

If you don't like to see Sex in video games or whatever thats ok BUT it comes with the game in this case

DA: I is made for a mature audience so if you can't handle that...

excessive violence should make people a lot more uncomfortable then sex (as long as its not porn)but thats just me

its crazy how much of a deal breaker this is to some

So far it seems like its only in the romances. I wasn't wondering for me, I'm more wondering for my younger brother who wanted to play it. As long as it's avoidable it should be fine. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't any nudity that is unavoidable in the game beforehand (possibly with the desire demons or other creatures). Thanks for the help, if anyone can confirm for me whether or not there is unavoidable adult content it'd be greatly appreciated.

If he's very young, this might not be the game for him anyway. It seems a lot scarier, more violent, has more profanity, etc...than previous games

@john_shepard I meant there's no gratuitous sex in most movies, games, and tv shows (which means sex with graphic nudity/explicit sex scenes). You also basically ignored my comment, I said it does not, I repeat does not offend me. Seems like I've had to repeat that multiple times and still people seem to be missing it somehow. Even if it did bother me somehow, why you feel the need to criticize everyone who doesn't share your exact opinion is beyond me. You may be mature, as in old enough to play the game, but you are definitely don't act mature. Just because someone doesn't happen to be exactly the same as you doesn't mean there is something wrong with them. Still either you or someone else will somehow misread this entire post and completely ignore my keypoints, coming to the wrong conclusion, and ultimately starting another pointless argument that contributes nothing to the thread.

And it seems you didn't understand my post either

I'm saying that since the game is rated mature its to be expected to contain Nudity so if you or someone else can't handle it thats ok you can skip the parts or not play the game but don't blame Bioware for including Nudity

Its as if I would somehow say ohh noo the blood it bothers me, people would be like wtf buy another game this isn't for you
