​I have it in my innovatory how do I get her to put it on?

Ah.....ummmmm....you make her Grey Warden and she wears it automatic and you can't change manually companion's armors last time I checked  ?

If you're playing on pc, there is a mod that allows you to equip your party members with different armors. Otherwise, like AnneLady already mentioned, Bethany will wear Grey Warden robes only if you make her a Grey Warden.

Dragon Age 2 doesn't give you chance to change your parties attire. Basically from what the developers said was they wanted the characters have their own design choices and attire to make them more unique.

 

It was one of many annoyances of Dragon Age 2. Even though Dragon Age 2 was a good game it had a few things that made fans whiny brats and angry bitches. For some reason fans have held a grudge. I didn't allow the little things taint my experience.

Cheaters? Do you mean characters?

 

If so, the only way (for most of them) they change armor is to romance them; Hawke's siblings change their armor based on where they begin Act II.  Other than for these two circumstances you will have no input as to their attire.
