So, Morrigan or Wynne? I read somewhere that if you split up a mages talents, Heal/CC, or Heal/Damage Etc. = Fail. I did this with Morrigan once and she seemed pretty good, took the heal line and did the rest in CC like sleep, CofC, and even some damage...Annnnyyyway, Playing a warrior dps dual wield, wanna run Me, Alistair, Useless Lelianna as full archer/lockpick, and a mage...but who? Obviously this is an old question but I just started really getting into the game. Wynne is cool but seems to be horribly addicted to lyrium for some reason, and Morrigan starts with good CC lines. Who do I play? Actually the real question is: is it prudent to take a mage and make a hybrid out of them? CC, Damage, Heal? Or just take Wynne or Morry and go full creation/splashprimal or full entopy/splashprimal?

I like hybrids best - but go for your life. Just set them up the way you want.
All mages should have Heal. Period. I like cold best of all the primal - 3 of the spells are absolutely grand if used correctly. Take either the glyph line or the mana clash line for stopping mages - or both. Get some cc - which one you prefer is personal, but it's hard to go past sleep/nightmare. Oh, and the lines with death cloud and mass paralysis are great - you don't need both. I think the line with Mind Blast and Crushing Prison is a must too, both great spells (and CP after CoC rocks). After that, well it's a matter of what you feel you most need for either support or damage.
