Okay so this just dawn on me. Dwarves can't be mages right? So I wasn't sure if this was address but can you be a dwarf mage in Dragon Age Inquisition? If so, how?

So, you want to be a dwarven mage? Dagna would be proud. However, dwarves do not dream, and do not enter the Fade naturally as humans and elves do. Thus, dwarves lack a connection to the Fade, and the ability to possess magic.

What about Sandal? Doesn't he have a natural inclination to magic?

I'm a dragon age newbie and I knew that. Dwarves are immune to the effects of lyrium which is why they can mine it. Because of that they have no magical abilities
well I am not a newbie. The only reason I asked was I thinking from watching the gameplay videos they show you could choose your race and class. It was a simple brain cloud that I was having on the issue and wanted to clear before next week.

Enchantments are not magic. As Bodahn says in Origins, master smiths in Orzammar do that all the time.
Sandal's talented enchanter.

I meant no offense by it, just from the little I know about the lore of dragon age I knew dwarves can't use magic. But I could see some type of loophole with inquisition that allows that since your character technically wasn't "born" and just appears into the world in a very unnatural way. It would make sense if your inquisitor dwarf could use magic since they obviously don't follow the natural laws of the universe.

You are still born. The fade mark is something different

Dwarves can only pretend to play and be Harry Potter. But most of the Dwarves love Lord of the rings more. ![]()

I am hoping they eventually decide to go the route of: Golems as dwarven mages.
By that I mean - the type of golem Shale was.
There's no reason golems wouldn't be able to throw lightning, fire or heal (Shale can do that PLENTY) - with crystal augments and enchantment.
I think it would be really unique.

...What? The Inquisitor is a perfectly normal dwarf/qunari/elf/human who exited a vagina in order to be born into the world like anyone else. He/she even has an origin story based on your race/class combo. Unless your calling the inquisitor's mother "very unnatural", in which case you should probably apologize xD.
Wait... You thought Cassandra was being literal when she said the Inquisitor "walked out of the fade", didn't you? You assumed he/she exited the breach with no memories and a mysterious mark... LOL.
The Inquisitor most definitely entered the world in a natural way (*wink *wink), and only became "special" after the events at the peace summit.

Hey, now, it's totally plausible that Dagna could have cracked the code by now for all dwarvenkind. Just sayin'. =p

Yeah, I feel like some day we may come across a special, exceptional dwarven mage.

I was hoping Dagna would play a bigger role by now in the whole dwarf mage thing, its sad she hasn't been in a dragon age game since origins.

My understanding of the introduction of the inquisitor was that he/she appeared into the world when the breach happened at the peace summit.
Obviously I was mistaken. I have been actively avoiding any story related information regarding inquisition though so excuse my ignorance.
