Is it true that DA:I uses Denuvo DRM?

I just read this on reddit, wondering if it is true. I hope not!!

Lord of the Fallen had really bad performance and bugs due to this DRM. And this essentially means a big no to modding :(

Why do the customers always get the finger? The game is going to get cracked anyway, so why even bother with drm? It always impacts the customer only while crackers get the game anyway.. makes me contemplate canceling my preorder.

Any official word on this topic?

Actually the devs have stated they have left nothing at all in the way to impede modding.

It's true, confirmed in the pre-load's EULA. Really sucks, I have had AWFUL experiences with this in the past. I'm actually debating whether I'm even going to play now. :/

Isn't Denuvo pretty recent?

With the way of DRM at times slowing down game play and lowering enjoyment on the PC, I have started to move away from the pc to consoles. Got a PS4 as it gets closer to what I would experience on my PC.

Yay... From the "brilliant" minds that brought us SecuROM... And they have the nerve to not only brag about that as a past accomplishment on their site, but to refer to it as "best-of-breed".

If I'd known about this long ago, I'd seriously have considered not getting the game. Too late for me now, I'm fully checked into the hype train by now.

Fairly, though it's last outings have been less than spectacular, and it's from the same minds as SecuROM...

Glad I also got it for the 360, in case it messes with my computer I can't afford a new computer. Way to go BW.

It's and is disgusting.

Why do we paying customers have to suffer this bullshit?

Your game will be cracked, hacked and modded if there is enough interest.

Stop penalizing the mouth the feeds you.

I don't even care now how good DAI is. I won't preorder from EA again. They never learn.

So, so sorry BioWare. You deserved better.

I don't have a clear understanding of how DRM software can limit or reduce game performance or brick a graphics card (as I have seen a couple people mention). Can someone explain?

not in technical terms but i can tell you that games that previously used Denuvo such as FIFA 15 and Lord of the Fallen suffered from slowdowns crashed and general buggyness that is attributed to the DRM.

How do people know it was Denuvo that caused these issues? I ask because I'm seeing a lot of flailing here (on this forum and on Reddit) and not a lot of concrete facts.

Way to stay ahead of the curve there EA.  Your "Unhackable" DRM was cracked in less than 48 hours, and has been at least attributed to severe performance issues in some games.  I don't understand why you guys have such a boner for this method of protecting your games, it does nothing to do so, and only costs you sales (not to mention tomes and tomes of bad press).

Got it from the Twitter thread. It's from the agreement when pre-loading.

Technical Protection Measures.  The PC version of this Software uses Origin Online Activation and Sony DADC Austria AG’s Denuvo content protection technology.

Didn't someone post on this very forums that full game of DA:I already got pirated and leaked despite this "awesome DRM protection"? Rofl

Isn't no access to keep and multiplayer enough protection for you Bioware? Must you really show me middle finger with this worthless DRM crap?

It hasn't been cracked. They uploaded the pre-load data but the crack is still WIP, and unlikely to be cracked any time soon.

So this is a second level of DRM on top of Origin's existing authorization system?

Feel bad for anyone who bought the game through Uplay, gonna be launching three different DRM to run it.

I would like to preface the statement I am about to make by mentioning that I played both DA:O and DA][ on PC and would not have had it any other way.

LOL Console Master Race FTW
