Way to stay ahead of the curve there EA. Your "Unhackable" DRM was cracked in less than 48 hours, and has been at least attributed to severe performance issues in some games. I don't understand why you guys have such a boner for this method of protecting your games, it does nothing to do so, and only costs you sales (not to mention tomes and tomes of bad press).
What? Inquisition isn't cracked, and based on the fact that two other games that also use Denuvo were not cracked to this day (FIFA 15 and Lords of the Fallen)... I highly doubt we will see "liberated" version anytime soon.

It's moments like these I want to give everyone at CD Projekt RED a hug.
Witcher 3 is the only game I preordered in the last two years.

Is there actually any true source about denuvo creating any performance problems?
There is one thread gooing around that is some random guy stating it from a russian forum... not really a source that give me alot of confidence
lords of the fallen would not be the first game that was release with bugs.
edit: especially when most solutions to the problems in lords of the fallen seems to be connected to graphics.

I am staring at LOF and FIFA torrents on a trusted site as I type this, so, don't know where you got that from.

How do people know it was Denuvo that caused these issues? I ask because I'm seeing a lot of flailing here (on this forum and on Reddit) and not a lot of concrete facts.
From what I read on Neogaf, the rumors about Lord of the Fallen started on a russian hacker forum. From what I've gathered, FIFA 2015 has no performance issues on PC attributed to the DRM either.

Well...that's kind of balls.
I checked TotalBiscuit's Twitter earlier, and he made a post about the performance being mostly fine but 'shaky,' but he mostly seemed to say that because of wonky SLI bugs. Didn't say anything about this. So...something, I guess.

That's not the same as cracked, though.
I don't know how long it'll take, but people will crack DAI. And putting something that causes gameplay issues isn't an incentive for future buyers.

I hear Denuvo puts an extra burden on CPU. I really hope that's not the case cos that's my weakest component in my PC right now so I'm really afraid of performance issues. ![]()

I can guarantee you that content of both torrents is not cracked.

DRM is such a flipping joke. With that being said as long as it doesn't negatively effect the games performance, reliability from crashing, and it doesn't have some stupid install counter I hope all will be Ok. I am constantly upgrading my machine, and rotating what games I am playing on and off my hard drives and if this has some stupid counter I will be mega annoyed. I don't want to be calling EA in 10-15 years cause I am out of installs and I want to play this game again... I am still in the middle of a run through of Baldur's Gate at the moment. I guess at that point I hope it will be on GOG.com, but this is EA, so it's that's not likely.
I have been a die-hard Bioware fan since the days of Baldur's Gate and have played every RPG from them since. I really hope it isn't spoiled by any DRM issues as it looks like a 100% return to form for Bioware. It is sad the PC gaming is still heading down this road, because games like this really are played best on PC, in my opinion of course.
And for SecureROM... I can remember that stupid little CD animation every time you loaded a game and you knew it was negativity effecting the time to launch the game.
I also want to hug CD Projekt Red.

What can I say? The EA suits have never played a game on their life, and are probably pretty computer illiterate, so... DRM is here until someone gets that it's a freaking waste of resources.

How would Denuvo inhibit modding?
Frostbite 3 engine is the only thing that's inhibiting modding.

Ah man I so hate this form of protection as it truly does only scr*w people who by it as I still remember the time I had just moved and had not yet got internet sorted and had pre-ordered a £40 game only after installing it to be be told I had to activate it online... Let's just say I never bought a game from that company again as I was so furious it still angers me to this day! Especially because I didn't have much money at the time and sacrificed some luxuries to get it but man that was a d*ck move. This news especially saddens me as I have pre-ordered the £130 Inquisitors edition and even the Inquisitors game guide (despite not using game guides) because I really wan to show my support to Bioware now I have the means to do so.
Anyway a damn shame really as for RPG games I believe CD Projekt RED has proven that it is more effective to respect your paying customers rather than limiting them to stop pirates for a short time.
Anyway I better not be playing and then due to the internet cutting out I have to stop playing as no matter how much I love and respect Bioware if that happens they will be dead to me (financially speaking anyway) until another Publisher takes over from EA
Ah man this is bumming me out time to go watch the Breach trailer and get pumped up again ![]()

Lords of the Fallen managed to run like garbage on every platform it was on.
Are we sure it was Denuvo rather than the game just being a mess, how did Fifa 15 run?

Indeed.
'It occurred to us that twisted logic governs this issue. We pay for a type of protection that requires users to go through a series of authenticating measures, then it fails to work, while the pirated version is actually more user-friendly, easier for gamers to deal with. As it turns out, we were quite naïve to agree to DRM in the first place, I have to say, but ultimately it is the mistakes we make that provide the most valuable lessons...'
'This was a key motive behind our decision. We want legit gamers to feel they own the game and can play it when they want to, how they want to. Why on earth should pirates have a better user experience than gamers who paid their hard earned money for our game? I sincerely think it should be the other way around: gamers acquiring legal copies should get a significantly better experience and deal than do pirates. While we can’t stop piracy, we can work on offering premium deals to those who buy our game and that’s what we plan to do with TW3. I strongly believe in using the carrot not the stick, so yes, we’re working to create some impressive carrots...'
Maker bless those beautiful Polish bastards. I really wish more devs were like them. ![]()

So, I'm seeing a lot of fear here, but what does this thing actually do? Is it guaranteed to mess with the performance of my game or my computer in general? Can someone explain it like I'm 5?
Supposedly Denuvo uses up CPU cycles to shuffle the game code repeatedly, making it "impossible" to decrypt the exe and crack it.

So what does that do? Freeze the game, or quit it? Overrun saves? Make it laggy?
I'll eventually but a console to play inquisition but that won't be for awhile, so if it's playable on PC I'm getting it. I'd just like to know if it is playable. If the game gets a little buggy and annoying I can deal with that

just think about it, you are running one extra application that accesses data from the same hard drive as the game. logic dictates that a certain amount of computational effort has to be diverted for the extra application to run. its that simple.

Ugh this pisses me off so much. Why is it that consumers like us who pay a lot of money for these games are the ones that are punished for people who play the games illegally?
If someone has decided they won't pay for the game, they won't, it's as simple as that. And yet it's only the ones who do pay who end up getting **** for it. CD Projekt Red at least realise this and don't ruin things for the people who buy their games. I will always support them over any other company because of this nonsense. EA you need to get your **** together.
