Julien Trevelyan, my canon-quisitor. A break from my standard MO of playing ladies first, but he made 100+ hours very pleasant to watch. (not even mentioning how easy the British male VA is on the ears.
)

Ya know, normally a male human is the last thing I'd ever consider playing if given the option to be anything else, but with a face like this.... ![]()

He is awesome.I just have to ask. Do you have the Sliders?
Hey thanks Aracos. Unfortunately, this is my first Dragon Age game and my first time using these sliders. I have no idea how to recall them. ![]()
So I followed Kabeljau's sliders to the best of my abilities and changed some colors.. all just for fun.. AND...
LOOK
AT THIS
MOTHER EFFIN
HUNK OF
SEXY MAN MEAT OF SEX
He's gonna be my third playthrough. Not sure on the hair color - might go darker like the original... But most importantly, can't decide if he'll romance Cass or Dorian!
This makes me want to try to do a male char for my next playthrough. Well done. He is nomnomnom. ![]()
Andrew Trevelyan,
starts out very naive thrown into events he doesn't understand. Very idealistic, at first he demands the complete, thorough freedom for the mages.
In the course of the adventure he sees the possible problems of that though. Falls helplessly in love with a certain mage from Tevinter...
He's very modest, and does not consider himself to be any chosen. In fact he doesn't believe in the Maker, which is why he has alienated himself from his family who is very religious. Whenever someone praises him he responds by saying he has a lot of friends who help as well and that he doesn't deserve all the credit.

I find the tricky part with the CC with male human is not accidentally ending up with Commander Shepard. Mass Effect had the same problem where there was this sort of core look to male human that could be hard to break the CC out of. The best part of course would be that you wouldn't fully realize it till you got in game. >.>
Elves seem to have a similar problem in DA:I. Breaking out of that peculiar "Slightly stretched human face with novelty Vulcan ears" default is a bit tricky. It's not helped by the scrawny elf models either. There's a fine line between looking like an elf and looking like lanky dork at a Star Trek convention that didn't want to spend too much on his costume. Its this weird almost uncanny valley problem where your elf can end up not even looking like they fit into the art style of the rest of the game. Because really 95% of the time you are surrounded by human characters.
The fundamental problem is the human and elf share identical art resources in the CC. To the point where even though elves can't have facial hair you can still have Manly Aragorn Stubble through the complextions. I think that's where a lot of the problems are stemming. Trying to make an elf that does not just look like a human wearing novelty costume ears takes some work as a result.
Its further exacerbated by the slim hairstyle choices and the hairstyles being shared by all races. >.>
I wholeheartedly salute everyone on here that's made a unique Inquisitor outside of the mold despite those quirks of the CC. Kudos.

Spoiler
Props for the Harlequin romance cover manly love shot.
Two playthroughs: a story-based normal run with the human archer, and a (current) oh-no-help-me-argh nightmare run with my vashoth mage.
P.S. congrats on making the character creator double as practice for the one-mistake-and-you're-screwed gameplay on nightmare. Dozens gurned horribly in their cells so that these two might live; no matter how I twiddle the sliders, my inquisitors' matrilineal legacy tends unavoidably towards suggesting inappropriate relations with a Sesame Street martian. Yip yip yip nope.

Ah yes, the "Great, I'm on nightmare mode AND I look like something that crawled down out of the mountains in search of food and/or virgins" dilemma.
I've had that a couple of times trying to start a nightmare playthrough. >.>
+arghfingers She looks amazing! I ran out of positive votes for the day so here's a manual one.
Time for some fun with Variants! Hurray!
First off, I perfected my character, Valen. The resemblance to my husband Patrick is now absolutely uncanny.
He made me promise I wouldn't romance Iron Bull ![]()
Here's the before and after:
So now I get to play dress up with him LOL
Valen as John Travolta:
Valen as Brad Pitt in Troy:
Time for some new hairstyles honey!
Surfer Dude!
Silver Fox
Handsome Ginger
(sigh) I am having waaaay too much fun with this game. I wonder when I'll ever actually start playing it again. ![]()
SpoilerA bit of a redesign of Penny Trevelyan, yay or nay?
She actually bears quite a resemblance to actress Eva Green, aka Penny Dreadful. A quick cheekbone and eye color tweak would be all you need.
Whether that's what you were going for or not, she's gorgeous! (+25 Approval points)

Can't say thats what I was going for, thats very flukey xD I made a few slight adjustments to the size of her jaw, and she's now good to go!
So out of all Inquisitors I made I decided to post my evil one...simply because I always just post my evil characters(I wanted to post Bob my first character but decided that this oen will go first) ![]()
Long story made short...a fanart is to blame for the way he looks!Long ago I found some fanart of some redheaded French guy that was well very cruel and creepy and sadistic serial killer...anyway I liked his look so I spent hours in DA:I CC making character to resemble him. However the evil French guy had curly medium long hair and he didn't had face tattoo lol(I simply like tattoos that's why I added it)...so hair and face tattoo are not same xD scar is!
I decided to go with short hair because I don't like "long hairstyles" in DA:I for men(if it was this curly hair like this but for men that would be another story because this is sorta hair the fanart character had http://i187.photobuc...hairshep1.png).
Anyway here is evil human rouge Inquisitor who's look were inspired by fanart I found long ago on deviant:
Another one of male inquisitors, my mage Lucian Trevelyan. It will be nice when Xbone gets screenshot capabilities next year, won't have to take crappy phone pictures.

So here's my male inquisitor, Gilthanas Lavellan. I really wanted to see how feminine I could make him because nothing is more beautiful to me than androgyny. Standards of beauty shouldn't be confined to one gender in my opinion.
Anyway, his interests include Elven history, fabulous eyeliner and an even more fabulous Dorian ![]()

3/4 view (under spoiler tags for size):

So... it's male, you say? o,O
So... it's male, you say? o,O
Haha, he is for sure. Runs like a male, speaks like a male. . . has the strange male elf build. He can't help it if he's a pretty boy ![]()
Really struggling to make a female elf at the moment, this is what I've come up with but something doesn't feel right and I can't put my finger on it. I Definitely want her to have black hair and silver-ish eyes but other than I can't find a face I can be really happy with, granted she might grow on me but still T__T
Another pic of my Inquisitor that I particularly liked:

Wow he really looks regal! My inquisitor looked so funny in theirs, I'm jealous! ![]()
I usually play as an elf when the game lets me, but dude... those qunari horns! How could I resist?
In this last pic I tried fixing the lightning a bit, since the makeup looked a bit darker in the creator:
She is my qunari rogue (because I love stabbing people in the back) Sumet. Not sure if that is a qunari appropriate name, but i used on of those "name generators" and Sumet was my favourite. I unfortunately had to redo her three times, since the first time my game bugged out, so after the first cut scene where you get touched by that light person, the second cut scene didn't start and I was stuck running around in Frostback Mountains with nothing to do. The second time, I had my mesh setting too low so I couldn't see the scars, and seriously, scars are important. I actually spent most of my time placing out the scars just right. But still, I am proud how she turned out, I think she looks really cool. ![]()

Based on your other characters, I tried to guess your preferred aesthetic: Gentle eyes, low cheekbones, slender face. How's this?
