Wonderful dwarf you got there, Orakio. Too bad you can't play him, he is awesome ! He looks really good and badass ! Especially on the third pic. 

 

Edit : I advise you to keep playing with your character until you are done with the introduction. The lightening is kinda weird at the beginning, my character had awful grey eyebrows first, and after the intro, it was black like I chose on the character creator. I was relieved.

 

Thanks, Bjorn and Lavellan are first characters im happy with...black emporium will be perfect for additional tweaks when its released finally

Good to know about the intro thing, both looked odd after they were out of cutscene so i was worried a bit.

 

Deciding which to play with will be the hardest part, i kind of want to romance cassandra even though blackwall is propably one of my favorites so i guess Bjorn

get's to show his smooth moves and charm.

I actually like -well liked since they exist no more XD- all of your versions! As for the jaw, I have no idea! I was just fiddling with the sliders and then BAM squared jaw xD

 

I wanted to give you the sliders of my Qunari to perhaps help you think of something but of course, hers are the only ones I forgot to take *facepalm* 

So I tried -and failed so hard- to recreate her. I'm going out so I rushed her, sorry! And I couldn't even get the right eye colour ._.  And I'm pretty sure I got the wrong mouth shape and skintone XD I'm sorry, besides having no time, I have an extremely bad memory and I did what I could! I also think I didn't make the cheekbones big enough and the lips are way too big... I just hope it helps you somehow XD

 

I started from Head 4! At least for this version, can't remember for the first time...    Here are the sliders (however I'm running out of time, so I only put the 'relevant' sliders. When I have more time and if you want, I'll gladly share them! )

I used a different face (because the lips I like to use looks like duck lips on all the other faces...) then your jaw, chin, cheekbones sliders, played around with it a bit, then done all the others as I wanted and voilà!
Let's hope she'll look good in the game too.

Triss


This is my elven mage.

It's the first time ever I play as a mage. I always play as a rogue. But DAI made me curious.

Triss is perhaps the best face I have created. It took me 40 minutes.
It's not that I don't like hard, wild or brutal faces. But this time I was in the mood for a character with lots of contrast.

The main reaction is that you don't take her serious. How can you be serious about a littlle innocent looking blonde girl like her?
But you can. And you will. As soon as you play her, watch her make her decisions, her interaction with the other characters and see her in action, you will discover the huge contrast.

She is cute as a button, but she can also look very determined and serious. Her face structure allows this without loosing any characteristics. The result is a very lively but solid figure you'd remember.

As her voice I chosed the soft english type acted by Alix Wilton Regan.

Funny, she looks very much like my cousin, Anni.

If you like to test her you can have her facecode. I uploaded two save points at Nexus. The first is where you walk out of the prison cell with Cassandra in the very beginning of the game.

I can't press 'Like This' more than a few times each day. I just discovered this thread, and there are so many fantastic face creations I'd like to support. I must say the creativity is high as well as the artistic abilities.

I know the Character Creator does a lot of work. But the the credit for the final finish that makes it unique is the artist behind the screen.

My first Qunari that i played the game with was a trainwreck when it came to looks, but after the first playthrough ive been just making characters without actually playing past prologue's start.

 

Problem is they always look very different in game than in the CC or cutscenes

 

Bjorn (bear) Cadash turned out quite nicely, im bad with CC so i just made varric lookalike and started the tweaking from there.

He looks just fabulously macho on cutscenes but IG the brown looks bit off to me and his eyebrows almost disappear though :/

Then there is my lavellan i made for Blackwall romance, i tried to make her look more mature and good looking while not being the "cutesy" type of elf to fit

the romance more. Problem for her was the minimal blush i tried to give, somehow it looks more intense than i set it to be...especially IG.

First off, I apologize for both character and photo quality. I'm using the 360 version and a phone so... yeah.

Second... You guys have some lovely Inquisitors. Like, really purty.

 

That being said, I present to you Hunter Trevellyan(?), Dual Wield Rogue. This guy took about 5 retakes since his cheekbone structure always bothered me, then his eyes were too bright, then his chin looked... weird. So at that point I just set everything to zero and worked accordingly. I'm quite pleased on how he turned out. Shame the 360 version doesn't have scars.

I ended up restarting when I realised that warrior wasn't really my thing. (After like, 6-7 hours. D:) Here's my rouge instead. Looks relatively the same but has red eyes to fit the whole stabbity stab theme.

Indeed. I miss my Snow Elf inquisitor. She was just so damn perfect. My second playthrough was a tragedy because it involved a Seramance. Now, I'm doing a third play though (currently bugged d/t Calpernia), which involves a Solasmance. At least that's a welcome tragedy!

I couldn't make anybody substantial on my own and my friend was just able to spit out beautiful characters like it was nothing. So I took it upon myself to not only be a creep, but to really make my friend mad by making a character based on her and not giving her the sliders. I would post my reference pictures but i'd rather not do that without her permission. But I do have permission to post these so here you go. I'm quite proud of her

Hey guys! I'm late to the party but here is my first character! What I tried here, is to recreate my face mixed with Blackwall's. 

 

I'm really happy how it turned out as I think he looks perfect for a warrior and we look alike a lot, minus the huge beard and the scar!

It's impressive how many people in the thread manage to create such unique elves. Whenever I try to create an elf he/she looks too generic and I just give up. But yours is truly unique and looks very fierce. You'd want her on your side on the battlefield!   Good job

What makes a 'predator' as MelissaGT wants?

In nature the muscles are contracted to the point between the eyes, and the cheek muscles usually follows to reveal the teeth. "I am prepared to bite."
The eyebrows also wander towards this point. Some contracts so much they almost cover the eyes.

You often see a devil portraited with the eyebrows lifted in the sides, like horns. I never quite understood this.But it looks impressing. I guess it is a way of adding animal proportions to the face.

How should the mouth react?
Some are folding them togther instead of showing their teeth. This can be interpretated as determination as well.

Many people have these features in small or almost invisible amounts giving the face a characteristic touch we confer to as abilities. And that is what appeals to us in a face. We see abilities and personality.

Maybe this is very simple, but I think it actually is. The most simple and basic things appeal the most to us.

I've been drawing and painting since third class in school. I had ADHD and was not able to concentrate on a thing very long.
Mostly it was faces, or nature.
Later I went to the danish 'School of Arts'. Thought I should persue a career. Had exhibitions and sold some here and there. But it's hard to make a living of it so I took a job in the advertising business as painter/graphics designer. That was before the PC arrived.

In all this time faces has always fascinated me.
When you meet a person you use a huge amount of energy to 'read' body language and all the small and almost invisible movements in their faces and body. You look for signs that can explain and tell you more.

And what does this have to do with face generation?
A lot.

When we create a face we want it to express something special.
Many of us have the desire to make a better copy of our selves. They way we would like to be. A dream fullfilled.
Others want to create a face of a person we would like to know and admire.
Some both. And that's the point where the challenge arrives. That is really hard. Mixing to personalities into one? Maybe that's why it is so fascinating and exiting? In the process we work with two different wishes.

I can sometimes sit for hours when I create a face. And I never feel I get it right. I start all over again and again.
And then there are those moments where you only use ten minutes on a face, and it's just perfect.

I usually don't play as a male protagonist, but Dorian was so beautifully written and performed, I had to create an Inquisitor just for him:  meet Lord Jerint Trevelyan.  (On a side note, it's amazing how different onyx-tinted armour looks under various lighting conditions.)
