My inquisitor Ethan

I wonder about the reasons that motivate some players to play through this game so many times, since it's an absurd amount of waiting/resource grinding and it feels like 90% of the game is random busy work in form of sidequests, which was different in the games before - as far as I can remember.
Might be just me starting over too often in the past few weeks and therefore getting rather annoyed doing the same things over and over again to such an extended amount.
Which wouldn't be the game's fault by any stretch, I am wondering since a few different lines of dialogue don't really seem to be worth it - in terms of taking a different race. The story itself hasn't different beginnings like in DAO, played about half of it by now and it seems like the story is on rails, which makes sense for the sake of simplicity in general and production value/time.
I mean, after fighting once for the mages and once for the templars.. basically being able to romance two of your (hopefully) favourite characters I kinda lose the concept of further value. I can only assume that it boils down to some neverending thirst for possible new discoveries (no matter how small those might be) of content and unplayed combinations mixed with undying love for the franchise which keeps people going until the next part comes out.
I just wanted to point out that not all the fun of an RPG is its branching story. Yes, that's really cool, and yes, I like to replay them to see different outcomes and hear different lines; playing different ways. But RPGs are still stories, and good stories deserve to be experienced more than once. I watch movies I like multiple times, even if I space it out a lot. Same thing with linear games and books.
Personally, I tend to play the same character over again (same appearance and name because I have no imagination sometimes, and mostly the same choices) for the most part. Because I take so long to do playthroughs and space them apart so much, I just always feel like doing my canon run
So what I'm trying to say is: It's sometimes fun just to experience everything again, not necessarily to do anything drastically different ![]()

Agreed. I also wanna try different classes without changing up my team dynamic because I love party banter. And I know I can just hear it on YouTube but it's more fun in-game. Plus, the playthroughs that follow the first generally don't go on any longer than a weekend's worth of playtime so it's not too bad (for me anyway XD).
I made a male Lavellan because I don't have any male characters and I wanna romance Dorian so here's Ealy (named after Michael Ealy)!

Meet another one of my Lavellans rockin' Mythal's vallaslin—Hoa (pronounced hwa; it means 'flower' in Vietnamese)!
Spoiler
Also bonus: I don't know if it's appropriate to plug this here but I made a digital painting for the first time, drawing my Lavellan (above) in feudal-era China as an Empress
I gotta work on my shadows and lighting but any feedback welcome!

Some screenies I have failed to post before.
"Can I keep it, plz?" "Whatever."
"Lol u r short."
You don't by chance have sliders for the first male Inquisitor? :-)
If not, do you still remember which head preset and faceshape you used for customization?
Really enjoy looking at everyone's inquisitors in this thread. I decided to log in & share mine, too.. I'm not too good with the CC in this game but it's addictive. I keep finding myself creating another character while I haven't even finished my first playthrough yet haha.
My human inquisitor, June Trevelyan
annd my elf mage, Jascha Lavellan.

fantastic!
"The Black Emporium is only a month away" seems to be the mantra of a lot of people here
(including me)
Yeah, me, too. I got all the way done making another character and I mostly liked it... but I meant to give him facial hair and I forgot.
Pretty boy Gilthanas Lavellan is back from his time in the fade with a bit of an image dump (I really wish there was something like flycam for Xbone. Alas, I'll just have to settle for regular cutscene screenshots):

Handsome! ![]()
^ He's cute. I love the one from the Fade, can almost hear Tyra Banks cheering 'FIERCE!' behind him.
Despite running the game on medium settings to prevent my computer from exploding, I still managed to get a few nice Haven-Skyhold shots
Also, this is my first Inquisitor who actually looks strong enough to hold that sword

Thanks for the comments and likes ![]()

I unfortunately don't
. Though I do remember the preset was the default one. The face shape might have been 1st, 4th or 7th. I'm leaning towards the 4th option although I'm not entirely sure.
*looks at picture of Julian, makes grabby fingers* Gimme!!!! ![]()

@Pensieve - I'm getting a Karl Urban vibe off your quizzy.

Thanks ,that's already enough info for recreating it :-)
Sooo, I got jealous of the very handsome inquisitiors I have seen here, so I tried to make one. This is my first-ever male character in DAI, so I am a bit biased.
Aram Trevelyan, a backstabbing bastard:
Very nice - do you happen to have sliders? I have such a hard time making male characters and I really need to make one so I can run through Cass' romance.

Thank you! Fortunately I haven't forgotten to save the sliders (which I usually do and then my hair falls out until I can recreate the face I want).

Sweet - thanks! I dunno why male characters give me so many problems... ![]()

Funny story: so I took Vivienne out to the Fallow Mire. First time I ever had her in my group out there, as she's not one of my favorite companions and I usually have Solas with me in the Mire. Anyway, we meet Skywatcher guy, and he's doing his normal chat. And Vivienne pops in with this most outstanding back and forth commentary with Skywatcher (paraphrasing, here) --
Skywatcher: "I'm talking of the Lady of the Sky. Haven't you seen her messages in the direction the birds are flying?"
Vivienne: "Preposterous Superstition."
Skywatcher (looks over at her): "Preposterous is what you chose to wear to a bog."
Hehe, I'm bringing her to the Mire every time, now.
