@tklivory - I thought there was a Post Your Collection of Inquisitors thread but it went unused and dropped to the bottom of the page. Most like to finish a playthrough at least partially before creating the next character. We could revive it and post pictures there of our medleys or better still create a separate album on imgur and use the thread to post a link. I generally only post 2 opening shots, 1 armor shot, and now 1 Inquisitor/Hawke shot per character. The segregated threads are still an option for those only looking for inspiration for their female Elf or male Qunari or Human male etc.

I totally play for the story, when it comes to these games.  And my characters and their stories are so much a part of the fun of it, I think.  I fall in love with each and every one of them, until I find THE one.  Then I play that story over and over again ... <looks askance at Maik'hel's pictures again>

First off wow! Loving the qunari guys.  I get the impression that even if they don't seem a popular choice, when you play an Adaar,  it it means something special to the player.

 

Second, the reason I was asking was I was thinking of doing a conversion of my texture for qunari men. But seeing the responses, I'm not not sure anyone wants it. Your guys look great and my texture makes them look too human.

 

 

I kinda dig the qunari individuality so I think I'll leave be.

I find music very helpful in setting the right mood during the creation process so to speak, although I must admit that since I myself am a very quiet and reserved person, it probably comes a little easier for me to come up with this kind of characters rather than the more extroverted ones.

I am so glad you actually noticed the nose! The thing I liked the most when I first saw the female Lavellan tarot was the awesome nose and I said to myself "I GOT to have that". It's just sooo...elfy?? My version is way milder than the card's but I think you can see it's not the typical, very human-like protruding nose you'd expect.

 

The hairstyle you chose suits your character A LOT (so much personality in it!) + that awesome skin tone and the contrast with the tattoo (I really like it when the tattoo color is lighter than the skin)...awesome awesome job!

 

Oh ? Music ? What a good idea !! If I may ask, what kind of music did you listen for your inquisitor ?

 

The nose of your character is so cute and amazing that you'd almost want to kiss it affectionately. So yeah, that's the first thing I noticed about her. She has well a very attractive face. And the vibe she has is lovely. 

 

And thank you for Jaeghar, I'm glad you noticed too about the contrast between the skin tone and the tatoo.

 

I think a Qunari can fit in rather well to the story. It's all on how you play it. The Qunari backstory is that of a mercenary hired to help keep the peace at the Conclave. If you play it like "wrong place, wrong time" I can easily see how a "blue collar" mercenary could fall into the role. That's how I'm playing my female Adaar. 

 

I agree. The issue isn't there for me. It's less about the beginning, and more about the path followed with the inquisition, which isn't really different from a human. The relationship with the chantry isn't really affected in a meaningfull way, the world not really reactive as it should to the grey giant, while a Qunari as the head of the inquisition is something that should terribly upset and affect the world. Finally, I just don't see why I should value a Qunari over a human, when it's almost the same. I like when things are serious and well done, I'm not sure i'm entirely satisfied, and that's why I stopped playing with a Qunari.  But that's another debate, for another topic. I don't want to waste the enjoyment of other people, especially when they proudly show their Qunari in this thread. If you are happy with your Qunari and the way the world reacted to her, that's awesome to hear. I just explained why I wasn't personally really attracted to playing a Qunari.

You are asking for more about their background if I understand ? Well, I mostly focused on Jaeghar's bakground, because first he is my canon inquisitor and some asked about him, so I don't have something yet about Jaheira. It isn't summarized. Bht she has also her own stories.

 

As for Jaeghar, well, I have already something written. Thanks to Lylliaa, I'm not comfortable with writting a background in english, but her curiosity helped me to overcome my reluctance, and I have written a summary of who he is. It's very long, so I put it in spoiler :

 I hope you won't mind, but I am going to take the face of your awesome inquisitor, to portray the very handsome man, looking like a prince and a knight in shining armor in my background, who has gladly stolen the heart and the hand of a lady from Jaeghar in his youth, at 19 years. A beautiful and coveted lady that he should have normally and luckily married ( his second failed marriage ), because of duty, as it is always decided between nobles. Ser Orys Mandell, coming from a powerful house in Ostwick, first child of his parents while Jaeghar was the last one and then less valuable, Ser Orys Mandell, older and more experienced, already champion of several local tournaments, smarter than Jaeghar, more beautiful, more charismatic, more interesting. Jaeghar, dark, without fame, pitiful compared to him. And then, obviously unable to match this guy in the eyes of everyone, and all those concerned, for the role of husband, in spite of all the threats and entreaties thrown by the Trevelyan outraged by the lack of respect for their last son and their house.

 

A noble that Jaeghar in tears, as proud as his father and as ruthless as his mother, guided by rage and the righteousness of his cause will fight in a dual, a battle on horseback in full armor in the bloody waters of a river, and that he will brutally kill with his blood-spattered sword while they were circling ferociously, the same day Ser Orys Mandell got secretely and happily married with the stolen woman. An infortunate warrior crushed with the strength of ten men to save his honor / the honor of his family, and to punish those that deliberately broke the deal and insulted the Trevelyan when they married the daughter to another pretender and his rival, while promises with oath were made made, unlike the previous agreements. No one can insult and seriously offend the Trevelyan without paying the price. 

 

I know a dead man, blind eyes open and floating on the river's water under the intense gaze of his motionless opponent standing above his bloodied body isn't really flattering, but I just need an handsome face, a character that looks like a prince, and yours is perfect to match this concept.

I'm going to start from that, here what follows : 

 

Some people called it murder, but for most nobles, thinking about how they would have reacted themself in the same situation, it was only justice decided by a duel. Men stealing a lady promised to another man aren't popular. And the young Trevelyan did what had to be done, dealing himself with the matter.

 

Jaeghar Trevelyan mocked and despised, then gained respect. For most people, he was a winner, a conqueror even if Jaeghar will always feel like the loser of the story. Ser Orys Mandell might be dead, but he has stolen the heart and the hand of his lady promised, he has stolen his first night with her, his has stolen his future happiness with her. Jaeghar could only save his honor. Finally and defiinitely alone, he also gained new enemies, especially the furious brothers of Ser Orys , and the woman that he was willing to love hated him for killing her new husband she immeediately loved and wanted him dead. 

 

But Jaeghar Trevelyan, his rage forgotten with the death of his rival, will never regret killing Ser Orys, and as ruthless as he is, will destroy anyone trying to take revenge against him witout pity.

Now a quick summary of who is Jaeghar :

 

Jaeghar Trevelyan, the youngest of five brothers and sisters, has more than enjoyed life in his very youth and widely used (for good or not) his privileges in his very youth, without never neglecting the duties. Duties that may require sacrifices, like not being able to choose his wife, but that he always had at heart to accomplish, duties incumbent upon a son to his paternal, a noble to his Lord, a man of high lineage in respect of his name and for his house, the Trevelyan; for honor and glory, power and wealth, that the ambitions of all the nobles seek absolutely.

 

From a powerful family in the Free Marches, whose links with the Chantry are so profound that they have become inextricable, his birth, his rank, his condition and the environment in which he was wet, then bathed his whole life, thus inevitably shaped, built and then forged the man Jaeghar Trevelyan is today. The austere education, very applied and followed, both religious and supercilious as received the young noble does not allow any doubt about the origins deeply rooted in a rigorous piety and daily practice of faith, Jaeghar being totally devoted to the worship of Andraste although he never make a show of it most of the time, unless the circumstances require it as well.

 

Like any good son of noble Ostwick he received military training, went on many campaigns to crush many enemies whatsoever ( bandits and pirates on the coast ) and motivations opposed to those he serves, on behalf of the House trevelyan, or for the good and safety of Ostwick.

 

Who is Jaeghar ? Certainly not a Prince or a Knight in shinning armor. 

 

A good man, maybe, maybe not, not always at least, but a dangerous man for sure. Very flawed, very human. Jaeghar is a man of fire and ice. A sweet, charming, and nice guy in private, with his family, friends, lovers, allies and servants, but a cold, dark, implacable, cunning and devious man in public affairs, noble politics and war campaigns. 

 

In love matters he is all about fire, he is passionate, romantic, his heart having more effect on him than his brain, willing to accomplish anything for his partner, loving spending private moments with his lover. Loyal to death to his friends, family or those that serve him well like the servants, and able to forgive many faults when it comes to them, totally aware that he is himself full of faults. The only thing he cannot forgive however is not doing its duty or betraying him. 

 

On the contrary, Jaeghar is all about ice when dealing with issues and politics, pragmatic, tough, ruthless, and who doesn't joke when it comes to duty, always serious, ( expect when he has to make jokes or dirty jokes ) able to make sacrifices if needed. He does not hesitate to be selfish if it can serves his own ambitions and he has no pity against all or any enemy, rival or opponent. 

 

- Jaeghar is an ambitious noble, always scheming, unscrupulous, imbued with itself, and jealous of his blood and of his rank, proud of his name and his house. ( though he can very generous with the common folks )

 

- Just as much a soldier and a strict military commander, jealous of his authority, a hard man of good management and administration, a gravedigger of incompetence and disorder. In war, there must be only room for victory in the minds and hearts and the dedication to ensure it promptly and efficiently for him.

 

 - In the field of intimacy and privacy, he is a cultured man, educated, devoted to his wife or lover, his children (if he has ones in the future ), and his family, although liberal and adventurous in the sexual practices, undoubtedly faithful in love.

 

What he likes: Jaeghar is a fervent admirer of Orlais, he loves their fashion, clothes, fabrics and culture, he likes to be well dressed, even in armor. He always makes sure to always have the best weapons from the forges and to appear to his best advantage whatever he bears and the use made of it. ( but he also loves adventures, walking in the mud, sleeping on the floor, breathing vile odors in the campaigns, galloping on his horse and hacking bandits, splashed by their blood on his armor ) The noble takes a lot of fun from tournaments and competitions, vibrates feverishly with dances, music, swells of wonder at the sight of painted sculptures and galleries, can not live without music and wine. Warfare is also rewarding for him as well as the intrigues and politicians blows. He appreciates humor and particularly dirty jokes, and even when it is to his detriment. Jaeghar has also a dark humor that might happen from time to time. But there is nothing he loves so much more than comfort, fighting, hunting, enjoying life, women, and to lead men. His interest in reading is diverse, his passions include the teachings of the Chantry of Andraste and history, he immerses himself in the stories of dragons and warden, and also takes great interest in some banned books which are smut.

 

What he dislikes: Nothing annoys him more than time wasted in vain and losing control of his agenda. He hates losing too, being tricked, being caught in his own game, do not tolerate insults against his family and the honor of his house. The dissension with the use of violence against the Chantry and all those who proclaim to be the enemies of Andraste. He might be tolerant with those who do not believe in the maker, but men like Anders blowing up a chantry and killing innocents will have zero chance to make him lenient. Betrayal is also something that Jaeghar cannot stand.

 

Important dates :

 

-13 years : First failed marriage. A disaster for Jaeghar who messed up, betrayed by the young orlesian girl, then mocked by everyone, his father furious against Jaeghar.

 

-14 years : Jaeghar with his sister Jaheira, trapped in a forest by bandits, will fight alone and defeat fifteen men. And they will be applauded by all the Trevelyan ( uncles, cousins, etc ) for their accomplisment and their courage.

 

-18 years : Jaeghar become a knight in his father's service, named then from this moment " ser Jaeghar " by defeating a giant woman ( chasind ) known as almost invincible in the Trevelyan castle, the Captain of his father's guard, a former mercenary and the best soldier of the troops.

 

-19 years : second failed Marriage. Jaeghar is promised to a beautiful lady, ( that he cannot wait to marry, willing to be the nicest guy ever to her ) but another family, the one of his own rival he despises, tries to steal the daughter with promises made. The trevelyan outraged and worried try desesperately to save the marriage of their son, but Ser orys seduces the woman and her father, while succeeding to prove that Jaeghar would be a pitiful choice for their family. After a few months, seeing how a disaster is coming, everyone spitting on their honor, the Trevelyan threat the father of the daughter frightened, but Ser Orys and his family promises him that everything will be okay and that they will protect him and that their families united, the Trevelyan can do nothing against them. Jaeghar, worried, noticing how his rival is ten times better than him  for this kind of thing, where you need to prove that " mine is bigger than yours " , tries to remain calm but is terribly hurt during that time. 

 

Hoping to escape the furor and the rage of the Trevelyan, a secret marriage is then done far away from them close to a river, but the Trevelyan learn everything the same day. They are shocked, astonished, confused, lost, and they do not know how to react. But Jaeghar learning himself what happened, has gone mad, running to his horse to find where happened the marriage and people tried to stop him, but no one can succeed in his rage. Armed with his sword and shield, he joined Ser Orys Mandell and her new wife, Lady Sollys, the stolen woman. Ser Orys, champion of several tournaments while ser Jaeghar was nothing and without fame, accepted the duel, underestimating his opponent and his unknown skills, and will be easily crushed with the the furor and the strength of ten men during the bloody fight. 

 

A battle that was so full of hatred between the two fighters, with swords and gross words that everyone, even after 20 years could remember that day. No one would ever forget how Jaeghar Trevelyan in full armor, alone and his face wet thanks to the rain outside, frightened everyone while he was walking and screaming like a beast in the festive hall of the wedding, provoking Ser Orys for a duel. The yound Trevelyanalso fighted like a demon in rage with the poor rival terrified and suddenly aware that he could really loose and die, after only a few strokes and brutally killed. 

 

Months after, Jaeghar despite being the winner and the survivor, is still hurt and lost confidence in himself. He will be also threatened by the family of Ser Orys Mandell ( and their mercenaries ), but helped by his family and his sister Jaheira, he will secretely fight them in the dark, and together they will put an end to the threat. The mercenaries are exterminated, the brothers of Ser Orys killed too, and the family of his dead rival threatened stop being a threat, seeing how they were losing the secret war. ( the fact that it remained only one son alive to lord Mandell, the father of Ser orys also played a role ) The Trevelyan are victorious, and even mor popular after this episode.

 

- 21 years : Jaeghar wins the melee tournament from the Grand Tourney in The Free marches. 

 

- 23 years : Jaeghar is married to a fat woman that few sons of noble wanted despite being rich and coming from a powerful house, thus strenghtening the Trevelyan, Jaeghar doing willingly his duty. A woman that he will learn to appreciate and come to love after spending some time with her. 

 

- 25 years : Jaeghar's wife had a secret sickness, ( in the past she has met some darkspawn ) that she has hidden to everyone, even to her own family to not be considered as less valuable and to be sure that she would marry Jaeghar Trevelyan, an handsome man that she found herself lucky to get after all the men that pushed her back in the past and that broke her heart. Jaeghar will spend months in sadness while his wife is dying slowly on her bed.Terribly affected after her death, Jaeghar disgusted doesn't want to hear anymore about an another marriage and duty, against the will of his parents. He joins a mercenary group, created by a noble, full of sons of nobles for the good of Ostwick where is already his sister. 

 

- 27 years : Tal'vashot pirates are a threat around Ostwick on the coast and on the sea, and the mercenary group of Jaeghar and Jaheira is willing to deal with them and to help the city's guard. But the cunning Tal'vashot attack them before they are even organized in the countryside, and almost all the sons of nobles will die, the rest injured. Jaeghar creates a new group of mercenaries, with his sister and those who survived, and of course new recruts, becoming the leader of the new group. And together, they swear that they will fight the Tal'vashot pirates to death, until they kill every one of them, until the last one. A call to arms and a promise made with blood, and tatooes on their faces. ( the tatoo that Jaeghar has on his face with Jaheira) 

 

After finally destroying the pirates, with devious plans and determination, Jaeghar victorious is called some months after by his father, the templars are apparently interested by his son and his military skills, knowing that he is a true follower of Andraste unlike Jaheira, and would like to meet him, ( maybe to become one of them ), but before that, he must go to the conclave to represent the trevelyan.

He does not hesitate to be selfish if it can serves his own ambitions and he has no pity against all or any enemy, rival or opponent. 

 

- Jaeghar is an ambitious noble, always scheming, unscrupulous, imbued with itself, and jealous of his blood and of his rank, proud of his name and his house. ( though he can very generous with the common folks )

 

- Just as much a soldier and a strict military commander, jealous of his authority, a hard man of good management and administration, a gravedigger of incompetence and disorder. In war, there must be only room for victory in the minds and hearts and the dedication to ensure it promptly and efficiently for him.

 

 - In the field of intimacy and privacy, he is a cultured man, educated, devoted to his wife or lover, his children (if he has ones in the future ), and his family, although liberal and adventurous in the sexual practices, undoubtedly faithful in love.

 

What he likes: Jaeghar is a fervent admirer of Orlais, he loves their fashion, clothes, fabrics and culture, he likes to be well dressed, even in armor. He always makes sure to always have the best weapons from the forges and to appear to his best advantage whatever he bears and the use made of it. ( but he also loves adventures, walking in the mud, sleeping on the floor, breathing vile odors in the campaigns, galloping on his horse and hacking bandits, splashed by their blood on his armor ) The noble takes a lot of fun from tournaments and competitions, vibrates feverishly with dances, music, swells of wonder at the sight of painted sculptures and galleries, can not live without music and wine. Warfare is also rewarding for him as well as the intrigues and politicians blows. He appreciates humor and particularly dirty jokes, and even when it is to his detriment. Jaeghar has also a dark humor that might happen from time to time. But there is nothing he loves so much more than comfort, fighting, hunting, enjoying life, women, and to lead men. His interest in reading is diverse, his passions include the teachings of the Chantry of Andraste and history, he immerses himself in the stories of dragons and warden, and also takes great interest in some banned books which are smut.

 

What he dislikes: Nothing annoys him more than time wasted in vain and losing control of his agenda. He hates losing too, being tricked, being caught in his own game, do not tolerate insults against his family and the honor of his house. The dissension with the use of violence against the Chantry and all those who proclaim to be the enemies of Andraste. He might be tolerant with those who do not believe in the maker, but men like Anders blowing up a chantry and killing innocents will have zero chance to make him lenient. Betrayal is also something that Jaeghar cannot stand.

 

Important dates :

 

-13 years : First failed marriage. A disaster for Jaeghar who messed up, betrayed by the young orlesian girl, then mocked by everyone, his father furious against Jaeghar.

 

-14 years : Jaeghar with his sister Jaheira, trapped in a forest by bandits, will fight alone and defeat fifteen men. And they will be applauded by all the Trevelyan ( uncles, cousins, etc ) for their accomplisment and their courage.

 

-18 years : Jaeghar become a knight in his father's service, named then from this moment " ser Jaeghar " by defeating a giant woman ( chasind ) known as almost invincible in the Trevelyan castle, the Captain of his father's guard, a former mercenary and the best soldier of the troops.

 

-19 years : second failed Marriage. Jaeghar is promised to a beautiful lady, ( that he cannot wait to marry, willing to be the nicest guy ever to her ) but another family, the one of his own rival he despises, tries to steal the daughter with promises made. The trevelyan outraged and worried try desesperately to save the marriage of their son, but Ser orys seduces the woman and her father, while succeeding to prove that Jaeghar would be a pitiful choice for their family. After a few months, seeing how a disaster is coming, everyone spitting on their honor, the Trevelyan threat the father of the daughter frightened, but Ser Orys and his family promises him that everything will be okay and that they will protect him and that their families united, the Trevelyan can do nothing against them. Jaeghar, worried, noticing how his rival is ten times better than him  for this kind of thing, where you need to prove that " mine is bigger than yours " , tries to remain calm but is terribly hurt during that time. 

 

Hoping to escape the furor and the rage of the Trevelyan, a secret marriage is then done far away from them close to a river, but the Trevelyan learn everything the same day. They are shocked, astonished, confused, lost, and they do not know how to react. But Jaeghar learning himself what happened, has gone mad, running to his horse to find where happened the marriage and people tried to stop him, but no one can succeed in his rage. Armed with his sword and shield, he joined Ser Orys Mandell and her new wife, Lady Sollys, the stolen woman. Ser Orys, champion of several tournaments while ser Jaeghar was nothing and without fame, accepted the duel, underestimating his opponent and his unknown skills, and will be easily crushed with the the furor and the strength of ten men during the bloody fight. 

 

A battle that was so full of hatred between the two fighters, with swords and gross words that everyone, even after 20 years could remember that day. No one would ever forget how Jaeghar Trevelyan in full armor, alone and his face wet thanks to the rain outside, frightened everyone while he was walking and screaming like a beast in the festive hall of the wedding, provoking Ser Orys for a duel. The yound Trevelyanalso fighted like a demon in rage with the poor rival terrified and suddenly aware that he could really loose and die, after only a few strokes and brutally killed. 

 

Months after, Jaeghar despite being the winner and the survivor, is still hurt and lost confidence in himself. He will be also threatened by the family of Ser Orys Mandell ( and their mercenaries ), but helped by his family and his sister Jaheira, he will secretely fight them in the dark, and together they will put an end to the threat. The mercenaries are exterminated, the brothers of Ser Orys killed too, and the family of his dead rival threatened stop being a threat, seeing how they were losing the secret war. ( the fact that it remained only one son alive to lord Mandell, the father of Ser orys also played a role ) The Trevelyan are victorious, and even mor popular after this episode.

 

- 21 years : Jaeghar wins the melee tournament from the Grand Tourney in The Free marches. 

 

- 23 years : Jaeghar is married to a fat woman that few sons of noble wanted despite being rich and coming from a powerful house, thus strenghtening the Trevelyan, Jaeghar doing willingly his duty. A woman that he will learn to appreciate and come to love after spending some time with her. 

 

- 25 years : Jaeghar's wife had a secret sickness, ( in the past she has met some darkspawn ) that she has hidden to everyone, even to her own family to not be considered as less valuable and to be sure that she would marry Jaeghar Trevelyan, an handsome man that she found herself lucky to get after all the men that pushed her back in the past and that broke her heart. Jaeghar will spend months in sadness while his wife is dying slowly on her bed.Terribly affected after her death, Jaeghar disgusted doesn't want to hear anymore about an another marriage and duty, against the will of his parents. He joins a mercenary group, created by a noble, full of sons of nobles for the good of Ostwick where is already his sister. 

 

- 27 years : Tal'vashot pirates are a threat around Ostwick on the coast and on the sea, and the mercenary group of Jaeghar and Jaheira is willing to deal with them and to help the city's guard. But the cunning Tal'vashot attack them before they are even organized in the countryside, and almost all the sons of nobles will die, the rest injured. Jaeghar creates a new group of mercenaries, with his sister and those who survived, and of course new recruts, becoming the leader of the new group. And together, they swear that they will fight the Tal'vashot pirates to death, until they kill every one of them, until the last one. A call to arms and a promise made with blood, and tatooes on their faces. ( the tatoo that Jaeghar has on his face with Jaheira) 

 

After finally destroying the pirates, with devious plans and determination, Jaeghar victorious is called some months after by his father, the templars are apparently interested by his son and his military skills, knowing that he is a true follower of Andraste unlike Jaheira, and would like to meet him, ( maybe to become one of them ), but before that, he must go to the conclave to represent the trevelyan.

The nose of your character is so cute and amazing that you'd almost want to kiss it affectionately. So yeah, that's the first thing I noticed about her. She has well a very attractive face. And the vibe she has is lovely.

First off wow! Loving the qunari guys.  I get the impression that even if they don't seem a popular choice, when you play an Adaar,  it it means something special to the player.

 

Second, the reason I was asking was I was thinking of doing a conversion of my texture for qunari men. But seeing the responses, I'm not not sure anyone wants it. Your guys look great and my texture makes them look too human.

I like both hair styles actually and in a way both fit her character. I think I will just play with both - some quests with the longer hair and then I will switch to the short hair again.
