I hope we'll get DLC soon, just so you can play with him again!

I, fortunately, am still in a middle of my canon Quizzy pt. I took my sweet time deciding about canon world and Quizzy xD

 

For now I have Deo. She got haircut before Halamshiral and I got this really nice pic

 

 

I'm totally gonna recreate her after this speed playthrough (aka Solas romance) and make her story slightly different (aka no Solas romance).

 

Oh, I know about taking your time refining the canon ... Maik'hel was the character during my 6th playthrough, in fact.  It took me that long to acknowledge he was "the one", hehe.  And Deo is cute, her coloring is definitely unique!  My Solas-romance was actually one of my favorite playthroughs, so much so Falin will remain a significant part of my eventual canon story.

Has anybody had any issues with the BE and hair mods? I know certain mods cause it to crash (like complexions with the painted brows), but I've hit a bit of a wall. I was able to access the BE and mirror just fine with my male human. Then I added a bunch of hair mods and now the mirror causes the game to freeze (he can still get to the BE though). My human and elf females are just fine. So I removed the new hair mods and now I still can't get to the mirror with my male human. Again, the elf and human females are fine. 

 

The only way I can access the mirror now with my male human is to run the vanilla patch, make any tweaks, and then reload the game with the modded patch to see the mods in place. 

 

Upon further research, it seems it's due to the smooth hair texture...not to worry though. I don't need to alter my male human any further so I will not stop using (or recommending) this mod! Any other races/genders that have issue I can create a patch w/o the texture to make any alterations I need.

I was incredibly unsure about the initial steps of the Cassandra romance.  But Aerek really does just LIKE her and it feels right, that this is a woman he'd be attracted to and who would respond to his initial overtures and more.  It just seemed to take a long while to get that sense from them, weirdly.  Oh, and sometimes I'm caught by surprise, that a character of mine doesn't like a particular companion that I personally adore, too.  Aerek doesn't get along too well with Dorian, not even as a friend.  That one caught me by surprise ... who doesn't like Dorian?!

 

Anyway, it's weird how that happens.  Keep us updated on Deo's progress, and when you recreate her, too!

Just for some full clarification:

 

The modders have actually done quite a bit of delving into the issues Black Emporium has with mods. Here's a post that details which mods specifically have issues, but the summary of it is this:

1. Any mod which changes either of two specific female face textures will cause BE or the Mirror to hang. Most facial textures that only change female Inquisitor complexions, unfortunately, change those textures - including Shantia's popular complexions. (Male textures like mrjack's don't cause this.)
2. Eyebrow replacements are fine if they are separate, NOT if they are part of a change of the textures referenced in Point #1.
3. Tattoo replacement textures can cause issues with the BE or Mirror.
4. Vitaar replacement textures can cause issues with the BE or Mirror.
5. Skaramoosh's Hair Texture (which I also love) only makes BE and the Mirror hang when it's a fully bearded race - male dwarf, human and Qunari - even if they don't actually use a beard. Otherwise, it doesn't have an effect (all female characters and male elves)
6. No hair mods will show up in the BE or the Mirror - though it won't cause a crash - because Bioware, for some unknown reason, set the graphics in the BE to work at a 'High' mesh level, and the hair mods require Ultra to show. However, if you select the base hair of the hair mod you want (using the Hair Mod Compendium guide I posted earlier) the hair mod will show up properly after you leave the Black Emprorium.

That's most of it. Hopefully that's helpful for everyone.

It reminds me on my Dalish mage's relationship with Vivienne. It caught me by suprise that they actually got along! Their views were so different, yet they really got along. Two ladies Knight Enchanters...

 

But I dI'll have a break from playing DAI for a few days, but as soon as I return home I'm off to playing Deo. I'll certainly make small comparison of first and second version of her.

I'm really more of an archivist and architect at heart than anything, so it's easier for me to track information than to, say, make mods myself. Creativity is something I have in very limited and focused areas, and as an Aspie, I have to be careful not to talk too much about it or I begin to overwhelm people very easily. So tracking mods and helping others learn about them seems to be a semi-safe way to be part of the fandom.

 

As for new Inquisitors, here's one I'm working on, a new Trevelyan. Priya Trevelyan is going to be my Cullenmance, a Templar-in-training sent to the Conclave not by her parents but as a Templar recruit:

I'm not wholly satisfied with the makeup yet, so I'll probably re-make her, and her face shape isn't quite what I want. But in that screenshot alone, there are eight mods active (oy), so it's easy to admit I have a modding problem.

Her backstory is that she's all about advancing house Trevelyan, and that she's a family operative and does the dirty work. Again, her face was a request for an Eva Green lookalike. I've also swapped out my brow, makeup, and eye mod.

It's a bit of a pain but to share you sliders, you have to take screenshots of every option in character creation and then upload them on a file sharing site. You can do it in The Black Emporium if you've already created the character.

 

Like I said, it's a pain which is why I was like "Sliders, perhaps?" on the off chance you'd already done it.

I don't have Black Emporium right now, but I'm getting a new graphics engine for my computer which should finally run DA:I properly and I have Black Emporium on there and I'm pretty sure I can re-create him for you.

Oh yes, I think I'm going to play that one through as the Trevelyan house having a very dark (and bloody) history. Victoria is only going to care about power and advancement. Who really knows why she was at the Conclave? Was it just to spy, or did she have other, more sinister orders? The Trevelyans have been pulling political strings for hundreds of years. They could put the Antivans to shame.  

 

I generally don't like to play "flowery" girlies. My other Trevelyan women are polar opposites. One is a true KISA - honor, duty and sacrifice (Rhiannon). The other rebelled and ran away from home, only to become a mercenary just to stick it to her mother (a noble becoming a merc...the travesty!). She's a total adrenaline junkie (Theo).

Confession time: it's all I can do, not to recreate Maik'hel for yet another playthrough.  Every image of a male elf has me shaking my head as I remind myself how important it is to finish Aerek's playthrough first.  Aerek is doing things a tad bit different than any of my Inquisitors ever did, and I seriously want to see the story from that perspective at least one time.  But I miss my elf!

 

 

I know dem feels. I desperately want to recreate a better version of my male elf and go through with again. But I am not allowing myself until we've had more DLC and I've actually gotten somewhere with the ridiculous amounts of other quizzies I've made.

 

Speaking of which..

I was messing around in the BE with my Qunari. I'm not a fan of the facial hair this game has for you inquisitor so I stuck a 'tache on him for the lulz over how ridiculous I thought he'd look.

Turns out I love the ridiculous facial hair.

And so, 'Like a Sir' Adaar was born.

Haha, thank you!  When it came out that Dorian and Cassandra were male only romances (and of course those were the two characters I was most interested in) I kind of resigned myself to playing as a male, which I don't normally do. Then I realized that just because I had to play as a male, didn't mean that my character had to look really masculine, so I designed Gilthanas with the thought in my head of 'make him look as feminine as possible'. I plan to do something similar with my eventual male qunari, though I think I'll aim more towards androgynous with him.

 

On a side note, I really love your Joruth, he is very handsome

So I took the story in a direction I've never visited before.  Still trying to feel this one out, mind you.  But Aerek is a stronger than normal personality, and he had a really bad day visiting Alexius.  Really bad.  It resulted in a fairly unforgiving response when asked what would become of the mages...

 

That first picture is priceless! Love seeing more pictures of Aerek, and as always he's so expressive!

Yeah, I just created two modded patches. One with the hair texture, and one without. So if I need to go to the BE then I can just load up the patch without. It's an extra step, but it works.
