Hey, do you know if the male elf "broken arm" problem is that bad? I'm currently working on recording scenes from all romances so I can make a fanvid and I was planning on using a male elf for Dorian. If it will be a huge problem I will go with a male qunari or human instead. What is your opinion on it? I wouldn't want something like that to ruin the vid. I kinda wanted to represent as many races as possible and I already have a human male so that's why I was going with a male elf (not the biggest fan of male qunari).
The problem isn't so much the degree of bad, but the inconsistency of the bad. I had one character who looked like his elbows were tied together behind his back (I eventually deleted his game, I couldn't handle how awkward it looked), and another who didn't seem to have any problems whatsoever with it and looked almost normal (though not completely) in cutscenes.
That being said, it is a problem, and it's definitely skeletal. It can be mitigated by the type of armor you wear, and the Skyhold pajamas are the absolute worst when it comes to highlighting the problem.
So I'd say go ahead and use a male elf, but make sure to play around with different armors and arm-upgrades for armors, and find a Skyhold outfit replacements that has shoulder add-ons (Skaramoosh has a couple that, I think, would help tremendously with that, like her Fenris-inspired one, or the one she released today based on Thranduil from the Hobbit).
And also be willing to re-do the cutscene recordings, because when it goes wrong, it can go really wrong, sometimes. (you saw Danaduchy's recording of Dorian/Trevelyan during the Redcliffe scene, right? About how they look off-camera?)
