I ask because I am horrible and creating characters that I like and could use all the help i can get, haha.

Isnt the presets just heads made in the CC by Bioware? As far as I know you can make any head no matter what preset you start with. That said, Ive found it easiest to get a result Im happy with when I start with HF #1 (least changes to be made). Then again...havent made that many chars either.

Sadly I didn't see any sign of the braided style from the elf there. 
In fact I am disappointed by the selection of hair. However here is my first attempt, which turned out the brows didn't animate well and I had her jaw set too high so it looked weird in the cinematics. Will try again whitout messing with the chin and mouth too much.
Almost all of that of what is missing (hairs etc) would be fixed by mods, just like for DAO and DA2, but sadly DAI is not modding friendly..

I used the first preset but the second to last head shape (I believe).

I think that's true for everything except the elves' ears. I tried to make the shorter DA2-ish ones with one of the other presets but I just couldn't.
I am not 100% sure if I am happy with mine, but I've decided to go ahead with a playthrough anyhow. My Inquisitor sometimes looks really awesome, but then certain lighting and camera effects suddenly make her face look as lumpy as the old claymation California Raisins. On the whole here are some of the more decent screen caps I have managed to get so far. I am still fairly early on in the game, but I finally got my Flames of of the Inquisition Mage Armor on in the last pic (bottom right).

Decided on the qunari. Went back and made a few tweaks. Altered the skin, hair, and complexion tones. Switched the horns. I think I'm happy with him now.

My Inquisitor! Decided to give him a roguishly offset broken nose. Can anyone tell me why the quality of the screens coming off my PS4 is so low? I've never used the screenshot function before and it just doesn't seem to be saving in HD.
