As promised here are some opening pics of my next male/female pair. I decided against doing both Qunari in this set merely because I wanted to play as a dwarf.
First I made Ussiv (pronounced you-siv) as Josephine's romance. My dwarven Wardens looked more traditional with epic braided beards. This time I wanted this character to look more like a convict. Rough and tumble to go along with his Carta background. The Cadash family has been surfacers for a few generations. Ussiv's family lives near Ostwick where they specialize in smuggling lyrium near the coastline. It may not be as competitive as Kirkwall, but they have still struggled as other criminal factions have tried to move in on their territory. Ussiv worked mostly as an enforcer, making sure customers paid and the shipments were secure from thieves. He didn't choose a side between mages and templars, since both were regular patrons. Usually business is good when there is blood in the streets, but when the buyers start openly killing each other it's time to step in and get things back to normal. Ussiv is not an evil guy. The crime is just a way to put food on the table. Secretly he wishes to pay tribute to his family's warrior caste origins by running a fight club like the Proving. This was something of his own, outside his family's business. Fate is going to make him a leader of an organization far far larger. Pitch grenades are allowed in the sparring ring, right?

Next up is Qadira as a mate for Blackwall. I started off giving her grey skin, but then decided to go with a rosewood palette instead. I imagine her background as someone who had to prove herself, growing up as a single Qunari girl in a town of humans. She would do small jobs for warriors and templars in the village, and ask them to teach her how to fight as payment. Eventually she caught the attention of a retired dame chevalier who took her on as an apprentice. She taught Qadira about flair, diginity, and the discipline necessary to be a distinguished fighter. After her teacher died Qadira moved on to the Valo-Kas mercenary group. The resilience Qadira learned is going to come in handy when dealing with Blackwall. Blackwall mentions his father, but maybe what he needs is a motherly touch. Someone who can be both loving and tough. Someone who can encourage him to be better. Someone to give him a bath. Twice. (Like anyone in this group smells that great after trodding through the wilderness, covered in blood splatter and demon bits)
