I finished Trespasser for the first time, so now to make a new character. I have far too many half-started heralds abandoned somewhere in The Hinterlands, I'm a chronic sufferer of restartitis I'm afraid.

 

This is Riley Cadash. Former bodyguard for the Carta, she likes bashing things with her shield and slashing things with her axe. She's mighty annoyed to find herself mired in this situation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

She's my first s&s warrior. Playing on nightmare because everything dies too fast thanks to the golden nug ^^

 

I've posted this elsewhere but not got a reply yet - not sure if anyone here can help: last night she kept getting a spell effect stuck on her after fights. It's a blue pulsing effect, it pulses radiating out from her (complete with loud pulsing noise) every few seconds. I can't work out what it is, I've never seen it before. I thought maybe it was to indicate she was 'primed' for some kind of ability, or maybe it was a status effect. But it won't go away, not after using all my abilities, not after just wandering around for ages, not after conversations, not after reloading. The only way I can get rid of it is to load an earlier save before it happened, and hope it doesn't apply again when I fight the same people (it generally doesn't - it seems random).

 

Is it a glitch? Or is it working as intended? If the latter, what does it mean?

 

Edit: I found it is caused by the Trespasser shied The Best Defense - it has a special ability that triggers that effect all the freaking time. Dammit.

Nice faces especially for the reaver. I personally think the lyrium staff design is a bit over the top . I liked it at first but now its a bit. ... Ugh...blue...spider? Thing?. I like minimalist staves like the deathward, or encore. But storm break staff design is a classic too too bad its so low level. So no using its design unless you use cheat engine to apply it to crafted staves.

It does look kinda bulky on her.. only decided to use it since I've never equipped it on anyone previously.

@ catabuca - I haven't noticed anything like that. If it is that random it's probably a glitch or a trials reward with a weird status effect.

 

@ ottffsse -  I like the lyrium based staff for the power, but it is so colossal it blocks out people's faces during cutscenes, I keep another staff on hand to switch out.

Been a while since I've been here. Suppose it's time to show off the new blood, and perhaps update the old with some flavour. I've recently started a headcanon where all five of the characters below are involved in the Inquisition, though only one was actually at the Conclave and became Inquisitor. The others were connected to the incident but were not at the Temple itself.

 

Mhila Lavellan, First of her clan. Very kind and open-minded, with a strong thirst for knowledge. She spent most of her youth learning whatever she could, be it magic, history, or a little bit of everything, and so ended up isolating herself socially from the rest of the clan, though she still bore great love for her clanmates. Though not really egotistical, she considers herself smarter and wiser than most, rarely taking into consideration the possibility of making mistakes. She is the one who becomes Inquisitor.

Silrani, warrior of clan Lavellan, and one of Mhila's closest and only friends. Highly experienced at survival and combat, but not very knowledgeable about much else, or of events outside of the clan, and is very distrusting of humans. She accompanied Mhila on her journey to the Conclave, as her bodyguard and companion, but she did not join her within the Temple in order to avoid drawing any unwanted attention.

The Trevelyan twins, Krestan and Karina. Both were part of the Chantry at the time of the Conclave, in accordance with their family's wishes, and thus had accompanied the delegation to Haven. Karina is a rookie Templar, a devout Andrastian, and takes her duties to the Chantry seriously, while her brother is more of a free spirit and plays loose with Chantry teachings. He does, however, remain loyal and compliant to his family, like his sister, but more out of sense of duty and the fact that he lacks the courage to truly go against them. Karina enjoys life at court, but Krestan despises it, yet he is extremely adept at playing politics, and takes borderline sadistic pleasure from outwitting other nobles.

And, finally, Karon Cadash. A veteran Carta thug who specializes in violence and intimidation. He was sent to the Conclave to assess the potential threat it posed to the Carta's lyrium trade, and to act accordingly to undermine or support the talks as the situation demanded. He was posing as a pilgrim in their encampment when the Temple exploded. Karon is fiercely loyal to his house and will use every opportunity to expand their influence, everything else is secondary. Additionally, while he harbours no love for Orzammar and other dwarves in general, he has deep respect for those who battle Darkspawn on a regular basis, especially the Wardens and Dead Legion.

Now that i've gotten some elven gear on my Lavellan, I'm finally happy with her look.  The regular gear was just wrong for a Dalish IMHO

Of course, I'm a chronic altoholic, so I had to make another elf as well. I've had one sitting around for months that I liked the look of but never really got anywhere with playing, so I went back to her, re-rolled as a mage, made a few tweaks to her face, and I'm pretty happy with how she's turned out.

Did you take these pictures with cinematic tools? How did you do this? I am asking because I tried to follow guide how to use this tool and some black box  should appear when cinematic tools opens. But when I do exactly as the guide says, nothing happens. No black box or anything

I have completed my ultimate 80's nerd! I was never satisfied with old Mihris, so I was playing around in the CC, and created my masterwork! This version is a combo of old Mihris and my weird zombie inspired Lavellan who never saw play. She is intended for a Blackwall romance.

Mihris is "plain jane" in appearance, and was never very popular with the boys of her clan, more due to her bizarre behavior and fangirlism than her looks. Half of the time, she is unable to make eye contact with the opposite sex; when she can, the only topic she talks about is the Grey Wardens.

When she became of age, Mihris was supposed to participate in the Blood Writing Ritual, and undertake the responsibilities of an adult. "I want a Grey Warden Vallaslin! XD XD XD!" 

 

"No, that's not how this works," Keeper Lavellan sighed.

Mihris would often wander from the clan in the early morning to Wycome where she would trade herbs for "Real" Grey Warden "Artifacts" with One-Eyed Willy. "Why, yes! This is "artifact" once belonged to the Great Warden Commander Duncan himself!"claimed the human.

 

"It looks like a potato sack."

 

"Looks can be deceiving, fool girl! The Wardens place this... "Magic Taint Bag" over their heads, and then... they are able to really see who the best candidates for Grey Wardening are!"

 

"Oh wow, amazing! I'll trade 50 elfroot for it," cried Mihris.

 

"'Tis a crime I let an artifact of such rarity go for a plant that I will simply immolate, but I cannot deny a true fangirl such a treasure."

That's some fun writing for Mihris. I didn't know anyone had found Duncan's Magic Taint Bag hidden at Ostagar. I just found some old goblet.

 

Didn't think I could make a convincing dwarven archer, but I ended up with what reminds me of a dwarven Robin Hood, and I'm pretty happy about him. I added light blue tattoos (and eyes) to hint at lyrium, but I'm not sure how well they work. Anyhoots here he is... no story yet, still working on that...
