Wow! Thats some Mila jowovich here:)
Its great how u manage to create them so different. Love it.
@LadyAly your qunari girl is beautiful. And Connie too.
As to humans ... humans faces can be a challenge to make. Cause it's really harder to create a unique face with human face structure. Other than that, can't see why would anyone hate them) there's plenty good looking human inquisitors. As to their ignorance, I'd say u get what u go for) there are possibilities to expand their knowledge on many human matters.
As for other culture's,knowledge. Well, why would a noble guy brought up to rule his land and be good in political and economical matters care about say elven gods. Especially if he is not a scholar or didn't have an elven nanny to tell him bedtime stories of fen'harel.
In many cases, it also comes off as strange when elves suddenly get the sudden and profound knowledge of higher society. But u also have the option. As I said, it's your rp. If you chose to imagine humans as insensitive it's your right. But really, dialogue in game doesn't differ that much.

Alphonse Trevelyan, Herald of the Mustache-Messiah, probably.
Gotta say, slashing things as a mage with the Blade of Tidarion is quite fun.
yay!! great job here!

Arlan, the (former) first of Lavellan clan, who had a serious upbringing problem/father issue.
So again I challenged myself another male elf, I had no clue what I was doing, then ended up something like this:
Not satisfied, I tweaked and tweaked and tweaked (all hail mirror of transformation), nothing seemed to be right. Eventually, out of pulling-hair madness, I installed an eyebrow mod, and voila, problem solved
Anyway, pictures in spoiler.

Hey, could you give an example of a fem human character which you actually like (if there is any)? Just curious...Well, you did ask.
It's easy to criticize the human PC because humans exist in real life, so I have something to compare them to.

I just completely redid my female human who will be romancing Cullen
I was heavily focusing on focial structure and wanted something long/narrow. i wasnt sure about hair style or solor anbd honestly i would love to have a long hair style but playing on the ps4 gives me very few options and i dislike all of them!
Playing with only the vanilla options is way more limited and more difficult to satisfy. I don't know how many times I sighed because I couldn't find an hairstyle or eyebrows that could please me and that could match a face I really like. I don't even really like the long hair options, especially on elves, they don't seem to match perfectly their head as it is the case for humans for example. But precisely because it's way more limited and more difficult with the vanilla options to make look good a character, I am of course much more impressed with those who succeed to have a great result without any mod.
I have seen in another thread some badass male qunari without any mod that made me absolutely jealous despite the few options ( never tried myself to be honest, but it still impressed me ) And of course, I remember many characters in the first months, and what many people have done was already amazing.
As for not playing a human because all humans are supposed to be ignorant, their society is racist, etc, I am a bit confused.... That's like saying that elves suck because Dalishs are all arrogant jerks and racists who think themself superior over other races ( even flat ears ), or that playing a qunari sucks because all the qunari have suffered brainwashing, being intolerant and ruthless with everything that doesn't belong to the Qun, regardless if you choose to be a tal vashot or not.
I thought playing an inquisitor was about being an individual, where you could shape his personality and his ideals and nothing else lol.

@ Tatterdemalion; Love your elves, they have all a very interesting design.
Thanks! I love Iona by the way; she's stunning.

Thanks so much :3. Endellion reminds me mostly of Elisabeth Moss/Peggy Olson from Mad Men, but now that you mention it, I do see where the Milla Jovovich comes from. I'll take that

I've played Inquisition on PS4 for the most part, and all of my Inquisitors that I've posted in the thread up until now were all vanilla. Now I've spent a good weekend playing with the PC version and ugh it is so much work setting up all those mods, restarting the game so that right mods work -- but lmao, that comes with the territory of trying to use different mods for each character, so I guess I have to sleep in the bed that I made.
I personally like the limitations on PS4. From a creative standpoint, it forces me to be more innovative and imaginative. Consequently, it forces me to become more invested in my character since my imagination is all revved up from trying to fill in the blank spaces (or the lack of good vanilla hair, lol). Plus, the graphics on my PS4 are way better than the graphics on my PC -- it's a little outdated so it has to work hard to get Inquisition going.
But yes, there are a lot of amazing modded characters out there but I've seen a fair number of vanilla Inquisitors that do match them in ingenuity and awesomeness. They're both good. All is good.
PS4 Idris
PC Idris
The tradeoff is that while my characters look "richer" on PS4 and that gameplay is easier, I get more options (and more screencapping flexibility) on PC. It's a tradeoff I can live with. Plus, I don't think I could ever make Nyneve or Endellion on PS4 -- they'd look so off without mods, lmao.
As for the human debate...I won't contribute to the discussion about Trevelyan's cultural and racial viewpoints here, but I actually agree with stop_him's argument that female humans in particular can look quite same-y after awhile (though I suppose that argument can be applied to the other races). I stopped playing human female inquisitors after I realized that my fourth attempt looked just like my first. But then again, I was fairly new to the game at the time and all I wanted to do was create one high-cheekboned and smokey-eyed glamazon after another. Not that there is anything wrong with making glamazons, mind you -- for me it was literally one-after-another, so my human inquisitors inevitably ended up looking the same. As they say, you reap what you sow.
While I personally find other races to be far more intriguing than humans, I might give the female Trevelyan a go again -- if only to take screenshots and experiment with the CC to see if I can make them unique from each other. Perhaps I might apply my earth/fire/air/water exercise to them as well.

Yes, people can headcanon, pretend their inquisitor said this or that, but the game itself does not have many meaningful dialogue options to acknowledge the social problems in Thedas. They're as insensitive as Cassandra in certain respects, like the whole, "Why isn't there room for the Maker in your non-human religion?" I mean, really Cassandra?
As for whether there are any actual human PCs I like, I don't know. I'll have a search a bit.

I have begun this investigation. I didn't expect to strike gold on the first try tbh.

She wound up taking after this wonderful human being.
Her name is Tam Trevelyan. She's a two handed warrior. Might be a champion or something? I think I like her enough to play her to the specialization stage at the very least.

@ LadyAly If we're taking a vote then I would choose Dyselda. I have no race or gender bias. Female dwarves tend to get overlooked. If I didn't already have so many playthroughs I'd make a one myself. Gives me time to come up with something special for DA4.
@ Murder Knife I really like Alphonse. I tried and tried to make that moustache work but it always looked taped on the face to me. Glad someone got it to work.

Neither can I but she is pretty. But then that's one of the annoying things about Bioware's games as I can't get mods to work. I've managed to get a hairstyle mod for Origins to work but that's about it. I just hope that Bioware do some mor work on hairstyles for Andromeda

vrey pretty lady I like her. Obviously this is a mod but I would love a hairstyle like this in the games in the futuer seeing as I can't get mods themselves to work in the game.

Mhh, I haven't realized there were so many words in my post above lmao. I'm going to fix it by posting new pics of Iona.

And because Auronvigo is right, dwarves tend to be overlooked, I'm going to post also one pic of mine.

Okay, I have a habit of changing my character's hairstyles (And sometimes makeup) at major points in the plot. It started because of the three year time jumps in DA2, now I just enjoy the variety. So here's Riona Lavellan, in her pre-Skyhold, post-Skyhold, and post-game DLC periods. The only thing i changed was the hair. I play on PS4, so no Mods.

I agree, but that's only because it's a consequence of an important theme not really present and relevant in the last game, precisely because we didn't get much involved - as the inquisitor - into social issues in human societies in dragon age inquisition. ( we didn't even have to confront the issue of blood magic and its morality, as it happened in other games. Doesn't mean that your character, the way you see it, couldn't have a stance for or against blood magic. )
It was for example much present in DAO and DAII , and where it happened, you certainly had choices to react - as a human or anything else -, as a defender of elves or justice or being indifferent, or being a racist jerk. It's just that racism, or other social issues weren't really present as a powerful theme in inquisition unlike religion and crisis of faith for example. ( At this point, I don't even know how many times you could say that you don't give a crap about religion lol, and the lore about religions in DA:I was big too. ), it was almost non-existent because it was just not really relevant to talk about those topics in this single game.
This exactly! The dialog for human pc and elf pc is exactly the same (with a very few exceptions). I cant recall a single time where you could be racist/insensitive as stop_him claims. It is because the game was designed for human pc.
