Back again with a tweaked Amerie. I wasn't happy with her as she wasn't conveying what I wanted. So I started over using her original sliders as a base. She's pretty much the same, just reduced her eye size a bit and lightened them. Narrowed the chin and jaw slightly. Changed her hair colour and lightened the eye make up, lipstick and vallaslin sooo, pretty much not the same in fact lol.

I'm much happier with her now though. Only thing is I accidentally made her a rogue...gonna have to go back again

@ mgagne : I personally think this second hairstyle is much much better, keep it ! I hope you won't mind if I tell you the truth, but I personally find the first hairstyle he wore absolutely horrible whether on a male head or a female head. I'm never going to pick this one to be honest, not even to try. When I saw your character the first time, I thought, well, " very nice face but horrible hairstyle ! " lol. I don't know how many nice characters in my eyes in this topic were wasted because of it, and yet, I think I'm very lenient with horrible hairstyles compared to the majority lol. I just can't stand this one, it looks too untidy and incredibly bad.

 

@ Ava, I like both of your gals, but I totally agree with you, after re-reading your notes. Your new Amerie conveys way more what you wanted ! Love her ! Kudos ! 

 

@ Pensieve : I don't think your character looks feminine though. If you don't want beards, then, you should maybe make a less rounded face, play with the cheekbones, the cheeks, a face more angular, etc , I don't know. I've seen in the elf thread some male elves totally manly ( and who were pretty ) without beards, that looked strong, which made me absolutely jealous , since I never succeeded to create one.    ( though most of them were modded ) 

 

Otherwise, I'm going to keep Jaheira with her carrot hair longer than I thought. ( and it's so hillarious to watch her with this funny color lol ) I think during all the main game. And Trepasser, so two years after, will be actually a good opportunity to modify her, to make a point about how she changed and grew up during those two years as the inquisitor, after the end of Corypheus. I'll pick the other white hairstyle, as I did with the DLC. It also makes more sense.

Guys, I need advice. I've yet again created an androgynous male. I don't want my men to look like women but they always do. I don't want him to have a beard and I want him to have a smooth complexion, so I'm thinking I need to change something about the jaw (make it more square?). Tips about how to make his face more manly are very welcome!

 

I'm probably not the best person to be giving you advice because frankly I tend to stay away from the androgynous look myself (and smooth complexions in general).

 

Here's a few mugshots of my 1 and only male trevelyan.  I went through countless variations of the 5 prototype faces before I landed on him.  I wanted a weathered/seasoned look for him but not straight up ugly.

Thank you for your input Sylvianus.  Here - just for you - a very good lighting I find (despite the odd blotch on the right cheek - blood I presume).  And a 2nd one with yet another hairdo.

@ Pensieve : your inqui. looks good. He seems to be in his early 20,and can't have a more masculine appearence than a man of 40.I'll give you the same tips mgagne & Sylvianus have given you. try perhaps to hollow his cheeks a little.

 

@Robert Cousland : looks really young!  like a teenager forced to endorse a role to big for him, but a person's worth is not measured in years!  

 

@ Dooq : well done, there's a nice balance between  the hairstyle which fits well with the face,and the dye of the skin.

 

@Sylvianus : What  I appreciate is her facial expression, given by the curves and the tense lines She seems assuming her feminine and masculine side very well.

even if she likes  ball rolling in the mud  ( I'm joking )

 

@HomerlsLegend : What a face! I didn't see any so much like that. He carries his history with him. i really like the result. Leaving him when your game is finished will not be easy.He 'll surely enter the pantheon of your heros!

 

@mgagne :  I like the mix of his eyes and jowls  , make me think of Hugh Grant's look.   Like what he release. I have seen some of your precedent works, for me, it's the most finished. I'm perhaps wrong but it's my opinion

I think he looks better now, more like what I imagined him (He is indeed in his twenties and I want to RP him as a complete manwhore who used to hook up with Templars in the Circle, and eventually got into big trouble for that).

Mgagne : Love him now, he looks stunning ! Both hairstyles fit him very well ! Do not know which one I prefer, they are both awesome ! You might alternate them during your playthrough, as I plan to do myself with some of my characters ! ^^

I really appreciate your comments ! Very good assumption.This is exactly what is Jaheira. I'm glad someone was able to discover it by just looking at those pics ! Nice eyes !    It kinda also means I've succeeded to convey who she is ! You will never see Jaheira in a dress, but she doesn't hesitate to wear tight things however, though, most of time when she doesn't go to noble parties or spend time with family, like Cassandra she wears an armor. ( most of her environment in Ostwick was military )

 

( There she is in armor ! Not too heavy, she needs to be quick and agile with her blades in each hand ! )

She will never have sophisticated and complicated hairstyles, but she likes having long hair, while with a more wild appearance lol. She is a fighter, and battles, training, rogue missions, learning and reading military tactics and strategies, killing bandits or her enemies, dealing with bad people, drinking in a tavern, or throwing jokes, making fun of people she knows in an happy environment, ( ball rolling in the mud, why not !  ) are what she uses to be. She doesn't behave like what you'd expect from a common noble lady, but she still knows how to use her charms if she wants to and whenever she wants to. With only her personality, she can seduces and gets what she wants, confident in love matters.

 

She has her bad sides, but she has also her nice sides as well. Cullen in inquisition for example, like other men before him years ago, discovered some of them.

Otherwise, today, I'm very happy because I've ( finally )succeeded to get exactly the same pic from the same cutescene for Jaheira and Jaeghar, just to show the comparison, as brother and sister. Never had the opportunity before, and to be honest, I was a bit lazy with Jaheira since I was only focused on my canon ink, but now it happened !

Yes you have, completely! And it comes to me like an obviousness. there is nothing too much or not enough (about her face). It's like she wore armor "all her life". She's great in it, playing DAI with her must be very pleasant.

Cullen  was probably stuttering when he meets her, and sweating in large drops!

well you can create some really interesting looking characters even without mods so it's not all bad I haven't got any mods on mine and my Solak Lavellan is lovely at least I think so. I'll probably play around with her look again change her hairstyle and lipstick and all that once I get through Haven and onto Skyhold

I agree. With so many mods available now, it's relatively easy to create attractive/unique looking characters, so I especially admire those who can create unique looking characters without mods.

Yeah I would love to get mods working on mine as I've seen a fwe hairstyle mods that I would love to have on my quizzy's. Unfortunately I can't get the mod manager for DAI to work so I've been pretty muckh doing the best I can with w3hat I'bve got and hope that BW does a better job with MEA next year in giving us better hairstyles as this is unfortunately one of the few weaknesses that DAI has at least for me.
