Nothing special about the screenies, but since I've been struggling to get a design I liked for several days (that also animated well), I figured I'd post anyways lol. Couldn't find others' sliders I liked so finally sat down and did my own.

 

This is Cat. I wanted a young, innocent Chantry-thumping mage as a contrast to the hard-charging ass of a Dalish reaver I just played. I loved her, I think her story was my favorite I've played, but I'm ready to RP polite again xD

Thanks so much. Trying to decide if I wanna restart to tweak one or two things or just wait till I can access black emporium. I really wanted to give her dark brown eyes but I kept failing so I gave up and made them black lol.

I thought Cullen deserved a nice girl and I wanted to do that romance arc on a mage, so. Thanks

 

EDIT: The half freckle full mole complexion from here is just so gorgeous it's hard to go wrong imo. Freckles.

Well, I do actually complete playthroughs with my characters. Aside from the hair, this is the "best" CC I've come across. I don't have a PC, so I can't compare DAI to PC games, and I don't have access to mods, but the variability I can get from the DAI CC is amazing.

I've read comments that claim all creations look alike, and while I do think that some people make the same "type" of character repeatedly, the DAI CC is capable of making a great variety of characters.

I've read comments that claim all creations look alike, and while I do think that some people make the same "type" of character repeatedly, the DAI CC is capable of making a great variety of characters.

Mmh. I think that 90% creations look alike, and then you have a 10% made of those people who I have no idea what sort magic they are employing cause they get some extraordinary beautiful Inquisitors, with perfect faces or skins that you don't usually see (like our very Buliwyf or Kadust!    ).

But I think it's not only skin/hair mods in that case.. there must be something with mods which increase the lightning or screenshots to make it look heavenly or so  
Because sometimes I find beautiful Inquisitors with sliders and I use the same exact sliders but they don't look as good, they look like a mediocre version of those. So I dunno.

For instance my Lavellan which I already posted a while ago, I love her and think she is beautiful, and I did use hair mods and face texture mods and longer lashes and hd eyes and realistic hair and have all graphics on Ultra but STILL, she looks more like the 90% of "basic" Inquis than like the other 10% of God Inquis XD

I don't know. I think their quizzys have made a pact with the devil to look eternally beautiful and young, cause otherwise I cannot explain it.
Or maybe some people are simply extremely talented and that's it

I admit that it's a huge draw for me. Being able to "sculpt" the face of the protagonist just makes the game so much more enjoyable.

I'm not sure what you mean by 90%/10%. I suppose it depends on the person. You seem to be saying 10% of creations are unique, and if I understand you correctly, unique means "extraordinarily beautiful." I've only made two characters that I would consider conventionally attractive. The rest are varying degrees of old/young, flatly unattractive/average. 

 

When I see characters that are attractive/beautiful, those are the ones that tend to be more similar to others' creations simply because the majority of players prefer attractive characters--and the Western eye has specific features in mind when thinking of the word, "attractive." That does not diminish their work, as it takes effort to create the perfect Golden Ratio face.

 

However, when I think "unique," I think of something I've never seen before, and that has more to do with color choices, interesting facial features, and incorporating looks that are beyond the Western ideal of flawlessly beautiful.

 

Unique is a subjective concept, and to others, it means beautiful/perfection/flawless, but I, with understanding and respect (!) have a different interpretation.

So do I normally although I have to admit I've been considering abandoning the Louisa one in favour of just focusing on Topal. As I've been finding it hard to keep track of where I am in both of them. Louisa is pretty  much an experiment anyway  as I mostly created her to test the Viv mods whereas Topal is my canon quizzy for my current run as it's  following on from my latest DAO/DA2 run. Although I might just finish Topal off and come back for Louisa not sure yet

Well, if you want a fantastic free character creator, just use Black Desert's. Yeah, most of the female presets start out as 13-year-old Asian girls, but you can do a ton with it.

 

None of these I made look remotely like the presets, and you can get a feel for the variety you can achieve.

Anyway, as for a lot of sameness, I don't necessarily disagree. All mine start out with at least the same one or two face shapes because I care a great deal about how they animate, and those are the ones that I've found animate the best. I also have a thing for freckles, so a lot of my characters have them, lol.

 

While I do try to incorporate flaws a lot -- nose too long, face a little too angular, mouth a little too wide, broken noses etc. -- I do prefer to keep my characters at least moderately attractive, and I prefer more conventionally feminine features for my gals. Call me shallow, but it's the truth. (That's not to say women with stronger jawliness, say, can't be conventionally feminine in my eyes, just saying I prefer to keep the overall impression feminine.)

 

EDIT: I did do an asian elf though so I guess that's a little different from my norm. :B

 

Anyways, restarted/renamed this character cause I realized I had the wrong worldstate loaded, and figured out how to do brown eyes.

 

 

 

This is Wilhelmina “Wils” Trevelyan, a young Circle Mage. Her parents call her Mina, her (Templar) brothers and friends call her Wils. Unless you’re Varric, then you call her “Shortcake” (because she’s strawberry blonde, GET IT).

 

With a title and Templars in the family, life at Oswtick was a bit stifling but safe. Wils filled her time with pranks and “Hey, watch this"es, though nothing she did ever held any malice.

 

Wils is the sort who can’t really dance or sing but does both with such gusto that you can’t help but join in. 

 

Once named the Inquisitor, she can be seen whooping across the Skyhold courtyard, chased by Cassandra after winding the Seeker up, or organizing nonsense like raw egg tosses. A difficult Inquisitor to take seriously, she can nevertheless be pushed into pushing back.

Not sure if you were looking for feedback or not, but IMO the only thing "wrong" with her face is her nose is a little narrow and a little far away from her mouth. Usually outside of the nostrils is as wide as the space between the eyes (in humans, anyway. May be a little wider even in some ethnicities). 

 

I think the features you have set up are themselves quite lovely. Awhile back I had someone ask me and I did a quick, "use-your-thumb-to-guess" guide on face proportions here.  It doesn't try for golden ratio because that's like ... busting out a ruler and I've never cared that much, but it does break down typical facial proportions in a basic way.

 

 

EDIT: And to stay on topic I guess, here's Wils paying a visit to Vivi. Lighting is so gorgeous there.
