I read that this occurs if Varric is friends with Hawke, so if he isn't...
I thought by 'friend' they meant as long as he was still sane ? At least that's what I heard.

I'm not sure, but not many people managed to rival Varric, though. Hard to do unless you meta gamed and played very aggressively. I'm guessing a lot of Hawke killers will be faced with the loss of Varric, if it's true.

Well, there's a decision in the Keep where you can choose whether Hawke and Varric were friends or not, and I read that this decision impacts whether he leaves if you kill Hawke. Though who really knows at this point. I have decided not to believe anything without concrete evidence.
I would actually love it if the Varric spoilers were true and they very well could be since the keep enables them to have minor choices that end up having huge consequences ![]()
My Hawke was aggressive and ended up as friends with varric. I personally think in DA2 you should not pick a personality option ALL the time for example if you play sarcastic Hawke and pick purple all the time sometimes Hawke came across as a sociopath lol.
While picking diplomatic all the time made Hawke a doormat and red hawke a psychopath. I am quite curious how the friendship angle with Varric is going to work with and aggresive Hawke. I mean at times certain red options Hawke took those who harm people close to her very very seriously. XD
I believe you and I agree with your reply options ideas wholeheartedly.
Pretty much all rivalry options with him involved killing people in certain quests and replying aggressively. Your aggressive Hawke was probably more level-headed.

Its great that we agree.
Personally its my favourite Hawke she looks out for those who are close to her, she is direct and to the point and may the gods have mercy upon you if you harm her friends and family. Oh she really beats herself up if she fails to protect someone hence why she gets quite mad when leandra mentions Carver's death since she blames herself since Malcom pretty much left Hawke to look after the family after he died.
Its sad when people say aggressive = psychopath when I imagine aggresive Hawke in a believable manner I think of someone who faces their problems head on(as the description with keep) and there are loads of red options of Hawke being disgusted with murderers and scum and those who harm his/her friends.
Honestly roleplay wise Merril and Varric are the only people she can feel relaxed around so to speak. Personally it was quite a shock for her to meet someone like Varric and becoming friends with him actually at first she just thought he was a shady merchant. XD
Yet all the things he is does for the companions and the banter changed her mind pretty fast.
I heard that apparently certain endings are unavailable to you if you play as a mage. Has anyone else heard about this?
Any word on Anders, whether he survived DA2 or not? Curious if he or a zombie Justice make any sort of appearance.
Also really curious if Hawke and he ran off together as fugitives, since now we know Hawke shows up... but seemingly with no Anders in tow?
Are there any spoilers regarding the Inquisitors survival etc?

I haven't seen anything about the Inquisitor's survival but given that you can play after the main quest is complete, I assume it's guaranteed unless you deliberately fail (since there's a 'demons win' ending).
There's also apparently sequel hook material after the end that may be a lead in for DLC which would have to take place after the game. Or it's for DA4, Hard to say.
I really hope the reason why the LI isn't with Hawke is a good one. Because head cannon wise, Fenris never leaves my Hawkes side unless forced. Plus, if Hawke is executed, I'd like to think Fenris would seek revenge.
Really hoping the LI isn't hand waved or they "parted ways".
That'd certainly be out of character for him, but sadly I don't have much hope that DAII cast is taken with care.

Is anyone worried about that Divine spoiler? Those options...

I can't imagine making any of them the Divine. I also don't like having to give up someone from the Inquisition to the position.
Exactly. And they all seem so focused on order and the status quo in some way or another... But maybe they're not, I shouldn't jump the gun...
