Not sure if I'm missing anything but there seems to be no way to edit your Inquisitor's facial features much like the mirror in Dragon Age 2. Not sure if Bioware was listening at all to fan feedback it seems. Another step back. Most likely will be sold to us in a form of DLC.
Wait, did Bioware screw up AGAIN?! You cannot edit your Inquisitor afterwards. >:(

I can't remember where, but I heard a Black Emporium-like feature might show up at some point post-launch. They know it's a popular feature so I wouldn't be surprised to see it arrive as a free update.

It would have been nice to have this option, but it is hardly them "screwing up" to not include an entirely aesthetic feature. Also, what with the CC being right at the start of the game (versus ME2 and DA2, where you had to play through the prologue) it's not a huge deal to re-do.

This. And they've said the CC and prologue go through all the various lighting conditions. If your PC has a butterface, you will know right away and can start over.

Pay attention when in the CC or restart the game.

amount of times i paid attention in CC only for what transfers from CC to game aint the same is maddening, to know the Black Emporium was one of the biggest features ppl liked yet to not include it is well, but things take priority and well BE aint a priority

Every single RPG SHOULD (for the convenience of the player and to remove and player regret) be able to recustomize their own character. Able to save presets and have the convenience to recreate that SAME EXACT character again like with the Mass Effect 2 codes. Why the hell do you think the popularity of Mass Effect faces website was positive where users can create and share. You can't even export these customizations and tweak them. It just pains me about these things aren't made for the player convenience.
I am VERY disappointed Bioware.

They have said there is not a half hour intro before the character creation, that in fact it is almost immediate, so going back to fix things shouldn't be a big pain. They have also said their could be something similar to a mirror of transformation coming. Did they implement numbers or codes so we can share inquisitors or quickly tweak them?
Also, OP your language seems insulting in title and tone. I have seen very few games where you can change a character in game. I would love the feature, but I could hardly call it a screw up. It is a choice of resources not a mistake. It does not change how the game plays or runs.

Devs said that the CC has the same lighting conditions as most of the major cinematics and that they tried to introduce a high variety of lighting conditions in the first half hour of the game so you can see how your character looks in all of them. It's not *ideal* but you can restart and remake for now, and I believe a DLC will have it later. I wish they had it now too though, so Ifeel ya. But it's hardly a #1 priority.

I wouldn't call it a screw up, merely choosing to use funds to develop other things, and not worry about recustomizing a character that can be customized from the very beginning.
Also, the Black Emporium in DA2 was DLC as well and wasn't part of the original game. Is DA2 a screwup for not including it in the original game? Is Origins a screw up for not including it, period? Is ME and ME2 screw ups for not including them? Jade Empire? SWTOR? SWKOTR?
Seems like such a trivial thing to get hung up over.

Wait did I want to over sensationalize this topic?
Devil's Advocate: DA2 Mirror was good for even minor tweaks - The character's cheekbones, etc. did look a touch different from the CC to real game play, especially with the eye and mouth rigging so it was nice to adjust subtle things that you couldn't quite quantify accurately in the CC. They should have an expression button to test how the face contorts when smiling, etc.
Otherwise, make the character you want and play them. Really not that large of an issue when they are giving us so much.

Oh, you mean the opening that's literally "Character appears on screen, the stands up?"
That's it? Thank the Maker! I was expecting a cutscene or fights like in DA2.

Yeah thankfully we avoided another ME2 BS with Shep's helm for 30 minutes.
God I hope that never happens again.

I don't get why this would bother you?? I've never felt the need to edit any of my characters once I finish them. If they look so completely wrong after you start, just restart and do it again. It's not such a big deal if your character's nose is not completely perfect.

It is to me, and I know to a lot of other people. I'm going to be sitting with this character for over 100 hours. He/she has to be perfect.

I don't want to belittle your concerns or anything, but I kind of feel like on the scale of all the things if this is the biggest complaint about Inquisition I'll be extremely happy. This isn't a screw up, or indicative of BioWare not listening. Dragon Age has only ever given the ability to change your character's physical appearance in DLC, there was no reason to expect or hold them to a different standard in this regard.

What I really want is a way to change hairstyles in game or makeup - things that could legitimately change over time. That's how I used the mirror in DA2.
That said, it's completely understandable this feature does not exist. It's a vanity feature, not a core feature, and as such can be easily cut.

What game allowed for this besides DA2 with DLC bonus? I certainly don't recall any of them in recent history. Hardly a screwup.

According to Laidlaw, the lighting conditions of the CC are the same ones that are used for all cinematics in the game. Meaning that if you got out into the open air and find that your character looks wrong, you won't have anyone but yourself to blame.
