FYI, just contacted the EA customer support and they said if you can get the game from Amazon it will work here.
So you're saying I can buy the physical copy from Amazon.com and it'll play on my pc? Pc CD isnt region locked or any such thing?

Nope thats what they told me, you can contact them and cross verify
Greetings! It's ironic how things work out.
I live in India.
I haven't played DA:Origins.
I haven't played DA2.
I hadn't the slightest interest in DA: Inquisition.
I spent the past few days reading up the plots of both games, watching countless Youtube vids and completing my "The Keep" profile, all ready to jump in. In fact, I just topped up my PSN Wallet and was ready to pre-order the game last night digitally on PSN (I have a PS4).
Today... I wake up to this. Wow.
Frankly, i'm pissed. VERY pissed. For a country that censors even swear words in Cinema Halls yet allows games like GTA:V to be sold and distributed in-country, it's either a heavy case of carelessness or ignorance.
Regardless, I placed my order for the game on PlayAsia just now and paid the extra money to have it shipped to me on expedite shipping (their fastest method - about $20 more expensive). Yeah, that's how much I NEED to play this!
I hope to get the game around the 23rd of this month and suggest you do the same if you want to play it as well. I don't see any other way to circumnavigate this s***ty decision.
Did you all, who ordered the game through Origin in India, get a serial code for the game?
I ordered the game using my paypal account and I got an email from origin detailing my serial codes and all.
I spoke to the customer service guy and he assured me that my order will not be cancelled. Though he told me that, as I am in India, he is not sure if I will be able to play the game; but he also told me that I "might" be able to play it offline!
My question is, why on earth is the game pulled out from India? I do not think it is based on the sexual contents and stuffs! There is more to this than meets the eye!
I doubt you would be able to activate the game at all at the time of activation, since the game isn't visible in the region's store.
I'm sorry to sound like a downer but based on my experience with Fallout: New Vegas and Steam, this is what I think.
Not sure if it's pulled for sexual content. Heavy Rain and GTA both had sexual content / nudity and were freely sold in India.
I just checked Origin and DA:I is gone from my library. And since Paypal is not active in my country, I can't place the order again.
I don't trust Amazon because I've lost orders from them before. I don't want to drop $70 + shipping and then never get the game. So it's getting someone to buy it US/EU and send it to me. Which is not exactly easy.
I would be very interested to know the story behind this. I'm particularly pissed because I'm not even in India and I'm still affected by the decision the Indian authorities have made. That's just...not cool.
Who can we contact to get a proper explanation? What laws were breached?
Was this a decision made by EA or did someone from the MORAL POLICE call them?

is playasia better than amazon in terms of order fulfilment??
I've ordered from Playasia in the past and was happy with their service.
I in fact just placed my order for the PS4 version of DA:Inquisition an hour ago; shipping was an extra $20 or so.
One guy told me that it is because of the new law forbidding homosexuality in India!
If that is the reason, that is one of the lamest reasons I have ever seen!!!
Yeah I saw that on a reddit post.
Someone on Reddit posted:
Update: The reason is because of Homosexuality. What the freaking f**k ? Source : one of my friend contacted EA customer care and he confirmed it

the law isnt new.. its been around for one and a half centuries... wat a laaaame reason!! EA can't be serious
That sucks. Though if you can get the game physically, you should definitely be able to activate it on Origin with a VPN.

or just play offline hopefully

You have to activate it on Origin before you can play offline as far as I know.

I'm pretty sure it's more to do with the government than EA. Or the general homophobia in India.

Well, that's something. Now I just need to get someone to buy it for me...

I guess even if this was possible, we will be locked out of future DLCs.
What were the local content laws it breached?
Confirmed that 'India' includes Bangladesh.
God...I don't live in India but I understand how frustrating this is.
Just imagining not being able to play game I waited for so long...gives chills to my spine ![]()
To placate censors the sex scenes were replaced with song and dance routines. This angered the copyright gods.
This....would be amazing!

I'm sure the Bangladeshis have something to say about that.
I am Bangladeshi. Which is why I'm extra frustrated. I'm sure the Bangladesh government knows nothing about Inquisition, and yet because apparently India is the entire South Asia, the ban applies to me as well.

Does Bangladesh use the Indian Origin store as the basis? Sometimes certain countries don't have their own regional stores and will use the nearest or most appropriate regional equivalent. Like on the Playstation, the Indian store shows local currency but what is released/not released is dictated by what is released in the EU store as that is the basis they use.

Which basically negates the ban of PS3 (digital) gamers like myself.
GG Indian Politics. Git good noobz!
Or at least that is what I hope.
