If the law was the reason for the ban, then it makes no sense why it would only apply to the PC, but not consoles. If it is a legal and content issue, it makes no sense why it would be limited to a certain type of distribution.

That is why some people are laying it at the feet of EA, not the Indian government.

 

It could be to do with the license EA has to sell games through Origin in India though, if there are different types of licenses to sell games then the one EA has for Origin could mean it is more vulnerable to this type of law.

 

It's like in the financial sector, depending on the type of license you have , you can offer different services, so two companies who look like the do the same thing from the outside, could operate under different restrictions if their licenses are different.

I have successfully preloaded the game, activated it, imported my saves from Keep and started playing the game!

 

It is very much possible to play the game!

I bought the Xbox One version of the game from the Indian store from an Italian Live account three weeks ago, I tried to play it and it doesn't work. Called the Xbox support and they told me that I can't play it because of this ban... It's unbelievable! My account is Italian, ma IP is Italian, why shouldn't I be able to play this game? Plus, the MS support told me to contact the EA support to ask for a refund! Problem is that this game was available in the Indian store until yesterday.

If you bought the game from the Indian store, the order will be cancelled! You need to buy it from a store elsewhere.

 

I bought it from the US store, preloaded it and started playing the game on the 18th itself!

 

After you have bought and activated the game, you can play it using any IP! But the key is to buy the game from a different store!

If you really want to play this game and are willing to pay extra money, use TorBrowser!

 

1. Download TorBrowser and run it.

2. Go to origin and log in with your origin account.

3. Buy DragonAge origins using your credit/debit/paypal account.

4. Download the game using your origin client with your normal internet connection.

 

Guys, two things to remember:

 

One, you will have to pay in Euros (€ 69.99 for Deluxe Edition and € 59.99 for Standard Edition)! It is a little expensive.

Two, try it at your own risk! Do not blame me if anything goes wrong!

 

Personally, I used a VPN software to buy the game! TorBrowser works pretty much the same way a VPN would work, though it connects you to a Europe server by default!

 

I would suggest you guys to try and buy in US dollars, it is cheaper than buying in Euros!
