You forgot gay gamers.

Every single Bioware's RPG trailer in the last 7 years that showed a sex scene was with male protag and "hot female companion".
This might be off topic though

This is a tricky situation for old console users for sure, I hope you will be satisfied with your purchase, OP.

Mehhh I am gay and I am just happy in the actual game I get an option to be with Iron Bull.

Here's Xbox 360 footage of the character creator (from the same Youtube channel as the video Jan Shepard linked to before).

You know, I had heard that the shiney plastic hair on low settings was a bug that the team intended to fix. If it's the same on Consoles maybe the day 1 patch would fix that too. We can only hope. [EDIT: This is not true. My mistake. It IS a texture bug but I have no idea if BioWare plans on fixing it or not]

But if that's the only issue then I can live with that. The game looks fine on 360 which is very re-assuring.

Where did you hear that?

If that's true, then awesome.

I'm gonna have to try and dig it up, but I saw it in a PC review of DA:I. They liked the game but noted the shiny plastic hair textures in low settings and how they were told BioWare was aware of the problem and planned to fix it.

Give me a few and I'll try to dig it up.

Ok, so I found it, but I made an embarrassing mistake and need to correct it.

Apparently it IS a bug, but there's no indication that BioWare's gonna patch it, but I guess if they know about it we can only hope.

Also inexplicable is the fact that DAI is shipping with a hugely distracting bug in that the same shine that is applied to armors also is applied to skin, lips and hair. Nothing says “lack of bathing facilities” and “way too much lip gloss” than the texture bug that applies gross amounts of shine to things that simply should not be so. Honestly, this is one that should not have made the Gold cut and is a big strike on the polish score.

My bad guys.

You realize that da:I will look btter than DA2 on last gen. Also if I had the guess I imagine the 360 version will be more stable. Easier to code for. Closer to a PC than a ps3 but who knows

Oh, it totally looks better than DAII. But the hair is so much worse.

When looking at the hair.. no it won't look better than DA2. Scenery might be nicer but not the characters.

It's apparently a weird bug.

With the exception of TressFX, it's really not much worse than hair ever looked on last gen.

Nonsense.

It's the shininess that gets me. If the hair looked more like, say, Origins or even Mass Effect I'd be fine.

Part 2 of the Xbox360 Gameplay. Beware of spoilers:

Spoiler

My thoughts:

The real negatives are 1) Very obvious and distracting pop in of smaller objects like stones, grass, etc.

2) Very weird textures, like the blood texture looks like crap. I wonder if that's a bug too.

3) The hair texture bug actually doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. It's still there but it's not as bad as I saw on Low-spec PC.

4) The long load times. Alas.

Otherwise the graphics are pretty good for last-gen. Aside from the texture bugs, I'm pleased. I expected pop in. There's a lot of pop-in in Destiny but the game still looks good on Last Gen.

Bottom line, if you have a choice obviously go with the next-gen systems or go with a good PC. But if you're like me and you don't have a choice, the last-gen version of DA:I will be good times. Hopefully BioWare is aware of the texture bugs and can do something about them.

Seems you can't install the play disc

You mean I can't install the disks so my 360's disk drive will have to constantly run? I have a rule, never play any 360 games without installing first, it's how my 2004 360 has never gotten the red ring of death. If you're right, I'm getting the PS3 version... Period.

Part 3 is up as well.

I see what you meant about the blood, that looks blocky as hell. And the shininess glitch... That better get patched. I really hope the PS3 version lacks these problems.

He's wrong.  The video he's talking about has no "install" icon on the dashboard for disc 1 because disc 1 is the install disc.  You must play it to install it(like the Awakening/DLC disc for the DAO Ultimate Edition)...  All indications thus far are that you'll be able to install disc 2 from the Dashboard...

Don't know about the blood, but the Shiny hairs is likely in. It's even on low and medium setting on pc.

I think they did a pretty damn good job getting it to run on last gen. The game still looks great and people who have played alot on last gen will begin to ignore the pop in. That sorta thing only bothers you for about an hour , if that. (Especially if you tend to play games on console)

All in all, Im REALLY freakin happy it runs at 30 frames (Or so it looked) and that the game in general looks much better then Dragon Age 2, thats all I really wanted out of it graphics wise.

From a distance the blood looks decent. There was that scene with a character basically bathed in it and it looked glossy and alright. But then you zoom in and you see the blockiness.

Honestly tho the last-gen version of the game looks good! Pop-in and load-times are to be expected. Most importantly it looks like it runs smooth. That's crucial.

It honestly reminds me of what Destiny looks like on last-gen systems: not nearly as good as it looks on next-gen systems but still very good. And runs smoothly. So I'm hyped.

Oh, good. Well at least I know now how it looks. Still need the PS3 version's videos, I still need to pick a version now. The blood being blocky will be bug, I love my characters getting bloody. I've made several topics leading up to release asking if mages can get bloody easier than in DA2. So blood looking nice is a bit important to me.

I'm going to make a new thread. People might not realize that this thread now has gameplay of the last gen version, so it's best to make a new thread with a new title that says mas much.

As The Elder King mentioned, Part 3. There's more fighting in this one so you can see how smoothly the game runs. Again, spoiler-alert:

Spoiler

Also the guy playing has never touched a Dragon Age game before and knows nothing of this game. Yet he gets to play early. Some guys have all the luck. :)

Blocky blood textures is actually something to do with the engine. If you ever play Battlefield 4 multiplayer, the water looks blocky up close. There might be a chance that they cant fix it.
