So I'm trying to download and install this mod (if you don't want to open the link, it's the Lock Bashing one). Or rather, it is downloaded, but I can't seem to get it working right. I thought I did everything right according to what the description said, but I must've done something wrong. I put the script at the bottom where it told me to.

As I'm new to mods, I don't really know what's the proper course for it. So is there anyone who has this mod and knows how to properly install it?

Again, new to mods and downloading/installing them, so please forgive my ignorance.

Have you installed the dazip with \Dragon Age Origins\bin_ship\daupdater.exe?
and then copy the lines from the description page and paste them to your ini. file?
The mod is visible in your list of "Downloadable Content"?

I thought I did the bolded, but it seems like I didn't. That, or my laptop decided not to. I admit, I'm not tech savvy in this regard so how I should go about properly downloading a mod is, in fact, alien to me where for others it would be as easy as walking.

So all I've done right now is re-download the file. How do I install the dazip?

TEWR, I would post questions like this under 'customization'.  For reasons unknown that is where all the toolset and technical mod related questions are.  It will be answered here so just a 'heads up' for next time.

I'll answer about where the specific folder is when I have time to open the toolset and check specific folders & file names.  It will probably be 'some hours'.

Browse to daupdater.exe and open it. The exact location of the utility is install-dependent , but it should be in the bin_ship folder wherever you've installed the game.

To install Lockbash (assuming you obtained it from DANexus) first extract the two DAzip files from the 7zip archive. Either drag-and-drop the desired DAzip(s) into the DAupdater window, or browse to the extracted file(s) with the 'Select DAZIPs' button. Select/highlight the files in the list, and then hit the 'Install Selected' button. It will go off and do the thing it does.

If the mod is installed correctly, it will show up in the list of DLC accessible from the load screen and in the list of Active Content found in the in-game Journal.

Success! It took me a little while because I was looking in the wrong area (I can be a dense **** sometimes =P) but I figured out where to go and what to do thanks to your advice theskymoves.

My thanks to everyone else who posted as well

I seem to be having trouble again with two new mods. Perhaps the reason why I'm misunderstanding them is because it's so late and I need to go to bed but can't because of things I have to do in a few hours, but these mods are giving me hell to install. If someone is willing and doesn't mind my daftness when it comes to downloading/installing mods, could they post a step by step instruction guide for what to do? I tried to do what I did before with lock bash (I think, but knowing me I probably goofed) and tried to do what theskymoves said for that but it didn't seem to work)

*can debate a complex topic for hours on end, but can't install a mod properly without someone holding his hand* :P

It's because you don't need the daupdater.exe for those mods.

What you need to do is download those mods, extract them with a software like 7-zip manager, then put them in the proper folders for them to work.

Spoiler

The mods should work properly from that point. Hope it helped! :D

Thanks Merela! I'll try that when I wake up later on today.
