tactical mode camera on PC

I've read some comments that you *cannot* give commands on KBM in tactical mode using the mouse - that you have to do it controlling this cursor using WASD as if you were using a controller. Is this true?
If so, then it sounds game breaking to me.

I'm posting this in the only forum I consider safe enough to avoid spoilers (before release when I'm sure trolls will post spoilers in thread titles here) to ask about the tactical mode camera on PC.

The PC UI twitch stream not too long ago demonstrates that you are able to give commands via the mouse and do not have to the WASD cursor. This was highlighted as one of the key differences between the controller UI and the KB/mouse UI.
Here is the part where Mike talks about it and shows it on the demo:

But can you move the tac cam with your mouse? Mike only used the WASD keys in this video.

I beleive COMMANDS such as clicking on a target is done via the mouse. I would be surprised if the camera did not move via the right clicking the mouse and moving. MOST if not all of the current info comming from users is based on Xbone gameplay and NOT pc.

Watching the video, it seems that the ground cursor thing and the camera moves with WASD, but targeting, including AOE, is done with the mouse.

At the 11:00 mark of the video link I posted, Mike does say that tac cam can be controlled with the mouse. But it does seem like it was for zooming and panning with WASD controlling the floating camera movement.

This is something that should be patched.

Thanks. I'm not that worried about moving with the WASD. It might be annoying but it's not that bad.

My bigger concern is that it seems way too zoomed in to get a clear view of what's going on.
I wouldn't worry. A few videos I've seen show quite a bit of control over the camera.

Doesn't look so bad. But I always preferred to use keyboard rather than mouse to move camera around in topdown/isometric games so I'm biased

Yeah to me it seems easier to move it around with keyboard then to constantly move the mouse

Well it didnt render the roof. So you could see over the walls.

The actual bad thing is that you can't move that glowing cross through obstacles, and camera catches on everything from trees to walls to columns, and it can't fly outside level geometry like it could in DAO.
The DA2 camera had that issue. It didn't actually bother me that much. And DAOs camera had the same issue minus the roof - it went insane whenever you hit an arc (like in that random Village where we found Shale or Dunerim).
What do you consider obstacles when you say that glowing cross cant go through them?

It seems like the camera is freed in tactical mode by effectively tethering it to a fake invisible character you can move around even when paused.
That's an interesting way of putting it. I wonder why that technical issue came up. Likely some issue with FB3?

Yes, tac cam can also be moved with mouse; panned/dollied, etc, not just rotated.

Not sure which you mean. The mouse?

Lol remap the mouse.
We can't remap that?
Do you mean you want to do it with the Keyboard instead?

Stuff that pathfinding can't cross. Like, in one video player put down an Ice Wall, and couldn't move camera/cross past it.What do you consider obstacles when you say that glowing cross cant go through them?

The rotation command.
Can't remap mouse axis if that's what you mean. Tac-cam QEWASD movements/rotations can be rebound.
