Why the hell did EA pull Inquisition from India?!!! First the physical disc was not available, so I preordered it a month ago via Origin. Then today I got an email saying that the game had been withdrawn from India due to "local copyright laws" and I was being refunded! I am a long standing fan of the series and have been tracking Inquisition since 2012. To be told that I can't have it just a day before release is depressing beyond measure. What happened? Why did EA do this?

EA didn't do it.

Talk to your own government about this one.

Government issue, not an EA one. I'm pretty sure you can legally import it if you buy it from someone else outside of India and if there's no blatant restrictions against that.

Damn, sorry to hear that.  Have someone buy it from outside of India and mail to you.

Not EA's fault. I'm in the same boat, because I'm in the same 'region', even though I'm not Indian. It's frustrating, but at this point the only recourse seems to be what everyone else is suggesting. I thought the wait was going to be interminable before. I have no idea when I get someone to get the game for me.

This is terrible.

Can you change your IP via a VPN and download it from Origin that way?

This is friggin' ridiculous. I just got the mail saying they wont charge me for my purchase. Can somebody give us more context and information as to why it's banned in India?

Because boobs.

Though I'm not sure why Bioware couldn't just release a censored version.

I am going to ask the customer support if I can purchase it from another country through vpn. I took a week off from work to play this. No way I'm not playing this come Monday.

I`m really sorry to hear that they had to pull the game from your country.

You may want to try and order a physical copy/origin key from one of the online stores. That`s how i bought psp/ps3 games that was not released in my country or Japanese language versions, that were only sold in japan/online stores.

Its not available on Green Man. However G2A is selling keys to the game. If I buy it from there will it work? And will Origin let me download it or not?

Does the G2A purchase offer the pre order bonuses and when exactly do we get the key?

It looks like G2A only has the standard edition. The key will be apparently delivered via email. If anyone tries this and it works, please post it here.

if its breaking Copyright Law in India, then it must be something in Inquisition thats not licenced for sale in India.

DAI conflicts with local content laws in India. It's probably either the nudity or violence that's the problem.

If I were you I'd just get it from abroad or via a VPN.

That makes no sense since the previous 2 games had both nudity and voilence and are still up on origin stores. i just want to know why we're getting screwed over at the last moment

Never once has game suffered in India due to stuff like that. DAI contains just as much or even less violence than Shadow of Mordor and less nudity than the Witcher. It just doesn't make any sense.

Unless it's about the LGBT relations and article 377. Although LGBT relations were there in the past ME and DA games the court recently ruled in favour of 377. Or it might be just a small copyright oversight which will be corrected soon and I am reading too much into it.

"Breach of local content law typically pertains to manufacturing number or percentage in host location." From an article about this mess. Thoughts?
