Lol same. I thought maybe there might be couple more here at most from India. That is why when I made a similar thread about the cancellation I didn't even think to check properly if it was already posted cos I assumed no one would have.

There is nothing personal against you, I am genuinely interested to know why do you think Government could not be involved in this and its merely an issue with EA's distribution deal with Milestone (which isn't even applicable for digital version). I mean, right till yesterday DA:I was being heavily advertised on Origin stores and suddenly EA shoots themselves in the foot and lose all profit and goodwill from Indian gamers..because??

I talked to a G2A employee. There is a chat option at the bottom of page. He said I'll receive the key on 18th. 2 days before their release date, and their version is global.

They are selling the standard edition, but I guess thats okay considering the circumstances.

I am speculating its something other than the govt ban simply because though the indian psn is eu store re skinned,xbl india is an indian store just like origin india,but game is available in xbox live ,when i asked the same question to ea executives,they had no answers,only thing they said was they could only confirm non availability of origin version.

Also the only source mentioning the game has been pulled out due to gay content is from some guy's post in reddit,there is nothing to confirm that from EA,many people have tried confirming this with EA executives,but no reasons were given,i am pretty sure they wont be this discrete if it was actually due to a govt ban,they simply need not be,they can put all the blame on govt altogether .

I am not sure if Xbl live is based in India itself. Even if it is, EA first needs to deal with MS to sort this issue out, which could take some time. Origin, being EA's own platform saw the swift cancellation action.

And EA HAVE put the blame on "local content laws" in their apology mail. The important word here is "content". I agree that while homosexuality angle can't be 100% confirmed, it can't be out rightly denied too, especially given the new ruling of SC that is in place. And DA:I advertised its homosexual content quite prominently.

CBFC acts as game rating control board in India. Its chief is known to be a pretty conservative guy. Given the change in government and the SC ruling, its not far fetched to think, this time they either denied the certification and EA, instead of agreeing to censoring the content, chose to pull out the game from the market, OR EA acted pre-emptively based on the advise of their legal department to avoid future legal lawsuit against them. If you remember, Aamir Khan was served a legal notice for "promoting" homosexuality in the recent episode of Satyamev Jayate.  

 

Milestone would come into picture only for PHYSICAL distribution, isn't it? Their deal going sour has already resulted in DA:I not being available in retail for PC. But we are talking about the DIGITAL version here.

I ordered the DAI origin global key from G2A.com. I was told that i would be receiving the key on 18 or latest on release day. Btw VPN on mexico origin gave me error while buying with credit card.

There are lots of stuff EA does wrong but what they dont lose potential revenue just like that...The reason its available for PS n XBONE is bcoz they are mapped to Europe I think. While EA ORIGIN is not...so PS4 and XBONE are circumvent local laws..EA Cannot..
