I have bought digital games from amazon before. All you have to do is have a US address entered and it will allow the purchase even if you use an Indian CC. I don't know if things have become more strict since then, but I highly doubt it as many people all over the world buy it from that store with their friend or family in US as the billing address.

What will happen to the dlc content later on if we buy from third party site? Use VPN on origin to grab them?

That they are not sure. As it is not officially supported in VPN, the question about multiplayer, DLCs, updates/patches etc is yet to be answered. I have contacted more than three customer care execs and they do not have a clear answer.

No. it is not. If you give a US address as your shipping and billing, it will work just fine. I have ordered before.

Nope i was checking last night...you can totally buy PS4 physical copies from amazon and ship it to india with shipping charges which it say are very high..

Nope i was checking last night...you can totally buy PS4 physical copies from amazon and ship it to india with shipping charges which it say are very high..

You can buy the digital version with a US address and avoid those charges.

I tried to buy the game from Origin US Store via VPN last night. Everytime got that 10048 error. But Still I was charged Rs 50 for even intiating the payment...i think I might have wasted ~Rs 300 on that only...hoping that it gets refunded....
Anywho still making up my mind where to buy it from....or just wait for people to confirm tomorrow if buying from third party sites works or not..

Yeah, it's still early to know hoe the game'll behave in VPN. However I found the G2A key to be cheaper than the original price in INR. Took a gamble and bought it. Now just have to see what happens after I get the key.

Hmm all the more reason IMO it's best to wait it out than rush into anything if you can't afford it.

 

Personally I was never going to be able to play at release anyway as I'm running into delays in middle of upgrading my PC. As it is I had prepared myself to wait till like december or something due to personal issues, so I think I'll be just waiting out for all the info that will come up in the next couple weeks.

1. One doesn't need to be a moderator to see who is spamming and who isn't. Its YOU who categorically said "lets spam these thread" some pages back. You seem have a chaotic and destructive mentality.

Last time I checked, homosexuality in India wasn't banned or a criminal offence, what was an offense was sex with persons of the same gender, i.e. Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. Also, FYI there is a gay contestant, Mr. Gay India 2014 to be precise in the Indian version of Big Brother reality show. And if we go by your comment which suggests that homosexuality is a criminal offence in India, that guy would've have been behind bars by now, wouldn't he? Just correcting your facts.

Honestly it's hard to put down a proper rule regarding this when you think about it. Say you travel to US next week for work/vacation/studies/whatever, login to Origin and pick some games. They can't block you from playing that just cos you later returned to India. Especially since your Origin account is apparently not region locked, the store itself is depending on where it is accessed from.

 

I understand our situation is unique though because the game itself is blocked in the country which makes the whole situation iffy. Still given the option, I'd rather support Bioware (a company I greatly love, no comments on EA) by buying their game via VPN than go for a pirated release.

So this EA guy is saying it is a government issue. 

 

Anyways the EA support have been contradictory on so many levels I don't know what to think. I got a reply saying it will not be possible, others here were told it will work 100% for dlc and MP also, others got reply saying it will only work for SP... :/ There seems to be zero communication among the EA support or a consensus.

Just give any random address. Go to google, search for some hotel in a good city, give that address. And by the way wait till i get a confirmation from my friend. He just ordered it. The order has been processed. Waiting for the key. Patience.
