pre-ordered a physical copy of DA:I in ps3 format on amazon.com & shipping it to India. Talked with EA India support. They are sceptical about multiplayer, but it seems all right for SP & DLC.
 

My download speed sucks atm (BSNL ) & My PC/Laptop both are 32-bit. So both digital version & PC version are out of question. Very glad to have the PS3 route.

I chatted with one exec today and he gave me an completely contradictory answer. I posted it earlier today in this thread.  

These guys are absolutely clueless,giving deifferent answers to different people

 

In my case they first said it wont activate because its not available in origin,but when i pointed that i am not breaking any Origin laws and the keys are global hence they cant technically take the game down from my acct,because it wasn't bought from origin India in the first place.

 

The guy then changed his tune and said ,yeah i could use keys, but would require a proxy to activate it.

Honestly it's hard to put down a proper rule regarding this when you think about it. Say you travel to US next week for work/vacation/studies/whatever, login to Origin and pick some games. They can't block you from playing that just cos you later returned to India. Especially since your Origin account is apparently not region locked, the store itself is depending on where it is accessed from.

 

I understand our situation is unique though because the game itself is blocked in the country which makes the whole situation iffy. Still given the option, I'd rather support Bioware (a company I greatly love, no comments on EA) by buying their game via VPN than go for a pirated release.

Pirated releases are not going to work anyways...DA:I is locked by the same DRM as Fifa 15 and Lords of the fallen...and these 2 have not been cracked yet...Buying the game is the only option to get it ASAP, but that also has been made ridiculously difficult by EA/Government(Whoever's to blame here)

Ya laptop is pretty old too..If you had high speed net would have suggested PSN Store thats a great option as well

Right now he is trying to use VPN to connect to NA server and try pre loading. Will update asap.

I went on to ask about G2A. They said on that matter, even their information is speculative and while it is possible to try it, it isn't recommended since the game may not activate.

Last time I checked, homosexuality in India wasn't banned or a criminal offence, what was an offense was sex with persons of the same gender, i.e. Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. 

 

 

You can play with words however you want, but DA:I is promoting a gay character AND SAME-SEX ROMANCE, which is a potential violation of article 377.

And yes, anyone can edit Wikipedia, that's how Wikipedia works, but the content is edited out when discrepancy is found by another user. But since you are nowhere claiming that CBFC is NOT rating video games, I take it that you have accepted my proof. Else, feel free to give contrary evidence, instead of clinging onto some strawman.

Yeah I bought the game from Mexico and it showed up in my Origin account alright. Now reinstalled 64 Bit Windows on my machine and from Korean VPN and preloading the game slated for release tomorrow .... though download speed is slooooowwwww .... I think there won't be problems and we should be able to play the game without VPN post 21st which was the scheduled release date in India.

Just give any random address. Go to google, search for some hotel in a good city, give that address. And by the way wait till i get a confirmation from my friend. He just ordered it. The order has been processed. Waiting for the key. Patience. 

Not sure about the confusion. As I can relate from my experience, I have given the shipping address to my home location, used my cc & everything went fine. Chose the Delux edition & quickest shipping method. Shipping & Handling cost + import Duty should be mentioned in your invoice along with other details. Hope it helps!

That is good news, please keep us updated further when game is released.

 

I'm just worried it will be pulled from the library after release or something based on IP address if we use this method. I guess nothing to do but wait and see.

Is this the physical copy? Those always ship worldwide. Digital ones are US locked, though easily surpassable by simply providing a US billing address.
