I hope this isn't because of censorship laws. I remember watching 300 on an Indian channel a few years ago. They edited EVERY single fight/sex scene in the movie. They literally took out half of the friggin film and made it family friendly. I'm serious, they actually managed to turn it into a PG film. It was the most hilariously sad thing I had ever seen in my life. Too many countries have ridiculous censorship systems. Makes me so grateful to live in Canada. I would go insane if I couldn't play DAI because just because my government decided that it was immoral and that it will corrupt society or some bullshit like that. Its a really annoying situation to be in =/
Inquisition not available in India. WHY?!

It's due to the gay scenes. India has no issue with violence/nudity censorship. Its a gay issue.

I don't know about that. ME3, DA:O and DAII all had same-sex romances. There was no fuss on their release and they are still available on Origin in India.

True that. I really hope it's a fixable issue and not a long time ban.

Has anyone reached out to EA or Bioware for comment?

EA strikes again and to think pirated versions already online.
If you can just stub and origin game key into the client instead of purchasing try 3rd party vendor like GMG or something.

A few people have contacted support regarding this issue. One guy got a reply saying that you can buy it from some other website and activate it on origin but you won't be able to buy future in-game content.
Another guy on Reddit contacted CS and got this reply: "There, I have asked my colleagues about this and this is not advisable, it may work or it may not. Because this game will have online access and the server for your country will not for the game so we do not think that it work. I do suggest that you stay tuned to our forums and social networks so you will be updated, if ever the game will again be available to your country."
So we're getting sorta mixed messages here.

someone on the DA Reddit said they contacted customer care and they told them it's being blocked from being sold in India because of the "homosexual content"
i'm not sure if it's true or not, but it's entirely messed up if it is, and as a gay person myself, it disgusts me.

Wait, so even if I buy the game from another website or have it shipped to me from another country, I still can't play it? That's just...effed up.

Possibly because we have to activate it on Origin which is region locked?

We don't know for sure, people in this thread http://forum.bioware...om-india/page-2say that it's possible to play if you buy from a 3rd party, but no one has confirmed it yet

If that were true, wouldn't it also be banned in Russia/some middle eastern countries? I'm not aware of any, but it would seem odd that only one of a handful of countries with outspoken anti-gay policies would ban it on that account. In any case, this sucks for a lot of DA fans, hope it gets sorted out. Having to learn of it just a few days earlier is even worse.

We probably won't get a serious answer till Monday, so all we can do is wait. If all else fails, we can always use a VPN to play.

Quite a few things I need to respond to here.
I am not stupid, I plan on playing the game first to determine if the violence and language is something he should be able to witness. As far as the sexual content goes, it does not bother me, I was asking for my brother, who has played previous dragon age games, where that stuff was avoidable. If I decide it is safe for my brother to play, I'll be guiding him around the times where he will need to steer away from certain dialogue options and opt out of certain situations, that isn't a problem. The language problem is easily solved with the mute button, or the voice volume option. I wouldn't blame Bioware for any content that might be in the game, after all the rating gives you a fair warning. I'll most likely just wait a few days post-release to see how extensive the questionable content is and then make my decision. I know romances are avoidable, I was just wondering if the nudity was anywhere in the game that would be unavoidable or something like that. For all the people who tried to answer my question, thank you. It's no secret that it is an M-Rated game, so I don't see why everyone seems to think I somehow missed the giant warning signs from ESRB. I had one simple question, and some of you were helpful in your answers, so thank you for that.
Never said the content bothered me, I was just wondering if anyone had any knowledge of unavoidable content in the game. With all the leaks and reviews out, I thought maybe someone heard something that I didn't. More helpful answers are appreciated, but I don't need your comments and world views on sex/violence. So leave that out of your posts, because honestly, I don't care and it does nothing to answer the question.
Thank you guys for your help:)
and this is why people pirate things
My best advice is (like others have said) to use a VPN. If that fails..then their is always....uhm...other less savory methods.

Then perhaps that is the cause. Won't know for sure unless Bioware confirms it, or we see the same in other countries that hold similar laws.

This is a poor excuse for piracy, this is out of Bioware's hands. They cannot force a nation to overlook their laws. It is an unfortunate situation, but piracy is taking it out on the wrong party. Basically a man offers you candy, your mother says no, so you strike the man because you couldn't get it, only it wasn't his fault.

It's our country's law and censorship that is likely preventing the game release. EA's hands are tied if this is the case so to imply they're the ones pushing people towards piracy in this case would be inaccurate.

Back then LGBT relations were legal. Now it's not. I'm completely certain its because of that the game's not available in our country.
Also there is a workaround for this. You can still play it in india if you purchase it via origin abroad. I asked one of my best friend lives in the US to buy it for me via Origin. Now it shows on my Origin account available for preload on monday night.

I imagine it's a combination of the homosexuality and the fact that romance scenes apparently have more nudity than previous Bioware titles. Maybe censored homosexual romances are allowed, but once you start being less candid about it, India throws a hissy fit?

Piracy is not about 'taking it out', it's about getting something. So, it would be stealing the candy from the man's pockets, not striking him. But I see your point.
