You don't need to keep VPN active 24/7 to play the game, simply use it once to import save data from the keep and then put origin in offline mode. Reactivate with a VPN if they release an update and disable it again when its downloaded.

If you want to play multiplayer, then tought luck probably.

Well we're only suggesting that cos we're worried EA might pull the copy once it's connected to an Indian IP. I think this is unlikely but can't see fault in being cautious especially in the beginning. Also yeah if you want MP, probably need VPN connection. Even then who knows if it would work reliably if at all.

This is the very reason I spent the whole of Saturday when I heard the news worrying about VPN activation. I suppose we'll just have to play it safe and use VPN with Origin at all times unless someone can afford to confirm it will not be removed.

Wait for a week...If keys are working and game is still in Library and people are able to play it...Then get the key...

If you're that worried, using a seperate account to play DAI like few people suggested before might be smart. But honestly, i don't think they'll care.

If you read what they said, they specifically state that they can't sell it in the indian store and that they'll have to remove the game from the library of people who've bought it FROM the indian store.

No where does it say that people of india are barred from playing the game, ever. Just that they can't sell the game to us directly. Doesn't mean we can't buy from another source and play.

So stop this unnecessary worrying guys, you're just gonna die sooner :P. i think we'll be fine

They are also not allowing 3rd party retailer keys..G2A said keys will not work properly....

Honestly this is nothing new, it's just relatively new in India, there are other countries where this is more of a regular occurrence. If EA officially offers the game for sale in India, its possible they run into legal hot water. However, if you purchase a game in another country and use it in India it's no longer EA's responsibility. If it were a DRM free game that you can download and play entirely offline, there would be no issues at all. The only issue is that it is a game that needs online activation, and might need to the Keep etc. Which as far as I can see, is simply a software accessing a website. I don't see why it would be blocked unless EA chooses to block it based on IP, and I don't see why they would do that.

It appears more like G2A is just being cautious (can't blame them) as they don't want to deal with selling to a country where it is likely to face legal issues. I highly doubt EA is pushing the agenda on third party retailers that are not located in India. It is all speculation at this point.

Instead of worrying with all this speculation and theories, I think it's better to wait till 21st for a solid answer. Even if the game works for now.

They're probably required to say that. From their standpoint, if the game doesn't work properly and they didn't say anything beforehand, wouldn't you be banging at their doors with pitchforks?

They're just protecting themselves from any backlash.

Now if they keys don't work, then there are other retailers to buy from, so i'm still not worried.

Well put. The rational side of me believes the exact same thing as well, but the more emotional side of me is getting carried away with worry lol.

Btw that link...didn't know so many games were banned in Australia.

It's much better now we have an R18+ rating, but yes fair point. We have been getting around 'bans' for years. You guys will work it out trust me. :)

My emotional side is in turmoil as well! Been looking forward to this since the minute I finished DA2 (Which I happened to love, but whatever). Saved for this for a while, so I'm still hoping it all works out.

Well we still have politicians who are worried about what will happen to 'The Cloud' when it rains :P so it seems like games have mostly stayed out of their radar. There are hundreds of awesome indie games that would otherwise be eligible for banning in India, they are just not on the radar.

If a game works now, however it was bought, EA can't take it away from you, can they? They can restrict server access and such, but you can still bypass that using VPN, right? Multiplayer would likely be out of the question, but Keep downloads and DLC purchases should still work. Or at the very least, you can play through the SP campaign once.

But, yes, waiting until the 21st is the smartest way to go.

I don't know why I can't buy using VPN, but everyone else can. It keeps rejecting my card AND PayPal.

I guess my choices are now green man gaming, Amazon, and direct to drive.

If everything goes well for Gamer Dude, I might take the leap and order the Deluxe edition through the Mexican store.

A pre-emptive question. How do I use Hola through the Origin client, as opposed to a browser?

Did you disable hola before entering your details? I did that and it worked. Before that I was getting rejected as well.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Will Not Be Available in India - Here's Why

The distributor for the game, Milestone Interactive said that this refers to the game's homosexual sex scenes. Rather than face the wrath of some of India's more prudish segments of society, EA have pre-emptively decided to make the game unavailable in India, without confirming or commenting on which local laws were being breached.

Sources close to the matter who chose to remain anonymous have said that this refers to users who have taken offence to some of EA's earlier games such as Dante's Inferno. Unfortunately, the exact details of the judgement in that case are not available online but it is clear that EA is willing to avoid entering the market at all, instead of risking another court case.

Does this affect Dragon Age: Inquisition only?
"The current action we've taken only affects Dragon Age Inquisition", said Smith-Wright when asked if this would affect Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II as well as other role-playing games such as Mass Effect and it's two sequels. All of these allowed players to pursue romantic relationships with specific characters in the games.

Dragon Age II had only four character romances. They were all bisexual so players had some sort of choice. With Inquisition there are a lot more options. It sports the series' first fully gay character, Dorian, that players have the option to romance. The developer Bioware has gone with more options in terms of romances for Inquisition. There are straight, bisexual, and gay character romances because they each tell different stories.
