I don't know why I can't buy using VPN, but everyone else can. It keeps rejecting my card AND PayPal.

I guess my choices are now green man gaming, Amazon, and direct to drive.

Is it showing for you in GMG? It is not showing up for me (maybe I need a VPN).

Did you disable hola before entering your details? I did that and it worked. Before that I was getting rejected as well.

No. I'll have to do that. Can you please write the details of the process step by step, or guide me to a link that has them?

Umm ... are you using Chrome and Hola Unblocker to buy?

Don't use VPN, not sure if it works reliably.

Rather than face the wrath of some of India's more prudish segments of society, EA have pre-emptively decided to make the game unavailable in India, without confirming or commenting on which local laws were being breached.

Sources close to the matter who chose to remain anonymous have said that this refers to users who have taken offence to some of EA's earlier games such as Dante's Inferno. Unfortunately, the exact details of the judgement in that case are not available online but it is clear that EA is willing to avoid entering the market at all, instead of risking another court case.

So its basically EA pussyfooting,to avoid any possible backlash that may or maynot happen. wow,so guys there is no ban on this game officially by the govt.I think this makes it pretty clear. :?

You won't get the digital copy of the Deluxe Edition anywhere else. It's Origin exclusive.

EA's statements already implied it was a pull back rather than a ban. Which is why I've been saying for last 2 days that it will unlikely to be pulled from any store that is not Indian based (like xbox/psn). Better for us this way anyway cos it means EA won't care if we unlock the game on Origin using VPN.

The article mentions that there is still no clarity if it ll be removed from indian xbl and psn or not.But the copies bought from us stores will be alright.

I know but it is unlikely that it will be. They have to go through Sony/Microsoft for that who have no reason to comply given it's not an official ban. The point is by doing this on origin EA want to cover their ass in case Indian government reacts. Since Sony/Microsoft are not Ea's retailers they are unlikely to hold that kinda power over them to have it removed. It could be removed, I'm not saying it can't...it will just be a longer/complicated process.

You don't. Try SoftVPN its what I m using to set up VPN on my PC.

Is that SoftEther VPN or Shrew Soft VPN? SoftVpn turns up those two in a Google search. Unlike Hola, they both look...complicated. Any guidance would be appreciated.

You will need a VPN to buy from Green Man Gaming, otherwise the buy option will not show up.

Ah ok. Maybe I should get my family member who is coming to India end of month to carry it with them...

Ok question: If I grab it from GMG (or another 3rd party site) and activate it on Origin, can I later buy DLCs from Origin US via VPN?

Softether VPN is not that complicated at all.

1) Download it here: http://www.vpngate.n...n/download.aspx- click the first link, you require the VPNgate plugin.

2) Install and follow the instructions provided

3) Open the client using the shortcut, or browse to vpncmgr.exe or vpncmgr_x64.exe and double click

4) Double click the "VPN Gate Public VPN Relay servers" option in the client

5) Select the location you want to connect to, most use the TCP protocol, but you can try the UDP protocol if that doesn't connect you.

Done. Just right click the client option and select "disconnect" when you're finished.

Theoretically, it should work. People have done it before. I'll try to buy the Deluxe Edition using VPN once again. I'll let you know in a few hours.

Or you can wait for the digital key to restock. It's currently out of stock.

There is no case of indian govt reacting, indian govt has never banned any games, even fallout 3 was never banned but bethesda pulled it out to save themselves in case of a backlash (but in their defence the content in question could actually have sparked some backlash, whether or not anyone would have cared for a game is for another debate)

There is not even a censory body for games in here.

They were simply reacting to one of their games"dante's inferno" being dragged to court over some content by some groups (mentioned in the article) Thats what i get from the article,in which case its simply amazing ,how they just didnt even try.

In anycase their backlessness has caused this mess for us.

Ok thanks. If the VPN method on origin works without a hitch, I'll prefer that method honestly. Less hassle... and I want the deluxe edition.  :P
