Theoretically, it should work. People have done it before. I'll try to buy the Deluxe Edition using VPN once again. I'll let you know in a few hours.
dlcs would only work thru vpn.
but i hope patches work without it.

Still it is a stupid reason to pull out the game.
There is no case of indian govt reacting, indian govt has never banned any games, even fallout 3 was never banned but bethesda pulled it out to save themselves in case of a backlash (but in their defence the content in question could actually have sparked some backlash, whether or not anyone would have cared for a game is for another debate)
There is not even a censory body for games in here.
They were simply reacting to one of their games"dante's inferno" being dragged to court over some content by some groups (mentioned in the article) Thats what i get from the article,in which case its simply amazing ,how they just didnt even try.
In anycase their backlessness has caused this mess for us.
Yeah this was a bit of an overreaction indeed.
Ok thanks. If the VPN method on origin works without a hitch, I'll prefer that method honestly. Less hassle... and I want the deluxe edition.
Me too. That throne and the Halaa mount....
Or you can wait for the digital key to restock. It's currently out of stock.
Oh that's good if that is the case. I'll keep an eye on it.
But I want the game anyway, what do I do?
If you're on PC, you can use a VPN service like Hola to buy the game from sites like G2A or Green Man Gaming or import a physical copy from Amazon US or PlayAsia. You'll also need a VPN for disc-based PC copies as these too require activation via Origin.
this is from that article too.
well lets see says it should start preloading today. I got mine via GMG using hola. Will let you folks know if it goes alright. 4 hours and will know.
I also got an email from Origin (in Spanish, no less), confirming that my product was available now and also the key as well. ![]()
Btw thanks for the vpn.s mentioned in this thread. Got hola for future use and softvpn with the vpngate plugin for situations just like this.

You're saying I should turn Hola off just before putting in my personal details, right? Did you pay via credit card or PayPal?
Once you add your game to cart..on the next page u will be required to login..
Turn Hola off then log in and continue as usual..
As for payment option i used my CC... .

I actually used a global debit card, but that means credit cards should definitely work.

Just follow this guide http://www.neogaf.co...ad.php?t=813562
it's the one i used to buy the game.
Thanks guys. I'll let you know what happens.
Side note, anyone else thinks we all should group up for multiplayer if we can get it to work? There are some really great and helpful people here. Perfect people for adventuring.
Yeah this was a bit of an overreaction indeed.
Honestly for as few sales as that article mentions, I don't think it's an overreaction. Especially when you consider the kind of abuse people get when they offend the sensibilities of some of ultra-conservative Indian organizations. It was just last year that a man educating people against superstition was killed. Another had to flee the country when there were threats made against him.
EA has the difficult job of balancing the safety of their employees against the value of releasing in India. I'd rather they do this than avoid developing games with any such content at all.
Here is another thing, back when I was trying to use Hola with Origin, I realised it is important to clear any Origin cookies before you do that! If you don't chances are Origin will detect your region using the cookies. It's best to just open a private window browse to Origin under Hola, and then start the process.
Thanks guys. I'll let you know what happens.

I'd like that. Add me whomever wants to group up (assuming MP works) DaiWulf on origin
Softether VPN is not that complicated at all.
1) Download it here: http://www.vpngate.n...n/download.aspx- click the first link, you require the VPNgate plugin.
2) Install and follow the instructions provided
3) Open the client using the shortcut, or browse to vpncmgr.exe or vpncmgr_x64.exe and double click
4) Double click the "VPN Gate Public VPN Relay servers" option in the client
5) Select the location you want to connect to, most use the TCP protocol, but you can try the UDP protocol if that doesn't connect you.
Done. Just right click the client option and select "disconnect" when you're finished.
Thanks a lot. Used Korean VPC to access Origin and can see DA:I in the store. Only problem is no translation for the Korean...
Well, I'm going to wait for confirmation from everyone and then see.
I'm glad you all can play! I was really shocked when I heard about this.

True. Groups in India tend to react extremely to stuff that goes against their personal views.

I never played multiplayer in any game as I prefer single player exclusively. I might break that trend for this game though....

The game's still 'outlawed' on the local Origin store. PC gamers need to jump through VPN hoops to play.
For console gamers like me, the matter's still up in the air. The game's launch is synchronized with the UK's launch, which is scheduled for November 21st. Hence we have not been able to pre-load the game yet in our region.
On the Indian PSN Store, the game is still available to pre-order even now and my already-existing preorder has not been charged, nor cancelled.
It's a wait and see game as to if DA:I will remain on the Sony/XB Indian Stores or be pulled.

i doubt there would have been any serious backlash ,especially for this. But than again whats happened has happened ,cant do anything about it.
