Thats... weird.. But your system is 64 bit isn't it? I remember a dev posting that game won't even install on a 32 bit os

Yup, I can conform that. When I was on a 32-bit system it clearly stated you need a 64-bit system to run.

Before pre-load or after?

Yes it is and i checked the support directory also, it says require 64 bit

Well.. then all I can say is that let the sucker install itself and then fire it up.. If it runs, it runs  :)

You are worrying too much. Everyone gets that folder. It does not mean you are getting a 32-bit version.

Before / after preload doesn't matter.. the minimum spec for this game requires a 4 gb ram.. 32 bit os can only use upto 3.6 gb.

It matters because DAI does not support 32-bit OS.

Which is precisely what i was telling the person, that before after preload doesn't come in the picture since games requires a 64 bit os for install... geez!

My 64 bit Win 8.1 also has the Win32 folder. Preloading now. If you have a 64 bit system/OS, don't worry.

I doubt you will be able to pre-load it on a 32-bit system since it wont even work there. Actually, I wasn't on a 32-bit system really, I was using Origin on Linux via Wine, there I saw a message that said something along the lines of, 64-bit Windows version required, or something.

Currently using a 64bit Windows to preload. Even if it does preload on a 32bit Windows, it wont install or run, so there isn't much point in trying.

So finally what many of speculated IS the true cause of cancellation of DA:I in India. Namely, the homosexual content. It's funny to see how some trolls and spammers are also now posting these same reasons, whereas before they were in outright denial. EA can't be faulted in this, since the "local content laws" are not made by them and they are well within their rights to save themselves from any legal hassles. In the end, it's the action of the Indian government and court who made homosexuality illegal that has prompted EA to take this action in its self-protection.

It's also good to read how some people are able to play this game..for now. But since the India launch date (was/) is still few days ahead, one needs to be cautious. There's still a possibility that EA COULD ban Indian IP addresses playing this game. I mean, if they can cancel a game this late, what stops them from going ahead full force and close the loopholes, at least on their self-owned store. I am not saying they WILL do it, but one needs to be cautious. So, for me its still wait and watch.

I don't think they will do that, what will they achieve?

Since the game isn't banned, they are under no legal requirement to do so. The only people that will hurt are people who have actually paid for the game. Then again DRM is a measure that only hurts people who have actually paid for the game so you never know. You are wise to wait and see, but I honestly don't expect any problems.

Assuming all other methods are working fine, that should work too.

I think the full picture will only become clear by the 21st. As of now some people have managed to buy keys from international retailers, and cd-key websites and have downloaded and started playing via VPN.

Some, like myself, have purchased keys and activated them in origin, but are using it without VPN. So while we can preload right now, it will only unlock for playing on the 21st.

Getting a disc from Amazon is great if you want a physical copy, or the deluxe edition, but otherwise it will just add shipping costs. Just buy a digital version from Amazon if you have to.

The problem is that I live in hostels, where we are only provided with 15GB of monthly Internet. Hence, Physical copy is the only option for me. But before placing the order, I need to be sure that it will work in India, else.."Paisa gutter mai gaya". From what I know, while installing the game via physical discs, verification needs to be done through Origins.Since that will progress via Indian IP, will it go through or not?

I guess it should work, some have already started playing

Just buy a digital version from Amazon if you have to.

Currently on Amazon.com, the PC download edition is available only to customers located in the United States and who have a U.S. billing address.

There are some workarounds for this, as discussed some pages back on this thread.

So am I right in understanding that Deluxe edition is only available digitally on Origin and Amazon (out of keys I hear, though physical is available)? There are no other 3rd party sites selling that edition?

You can try a VPN/Hola to access Origin (US Store) and buy the deluxe edition :)
